That last ask just caused me to stumble upon the awful realization that in S1, Marcus does, in fact, listen to music all the time when he’s alone. Almost constantly. In S2, the infamous tape deck / constant music is noticeably missing. And I never realized why until now.

It was because of the silence.

He was filling up the silence. All those years traveling around the world with nobody to talk to, of course Marcus listens to music all the time. He’d go mad otherwise. But by S2, he’s had Tomas for company, and he’s had him for a good long while. He wouldn’t need to fill up the silence anymore. Tomas filled up the silence. Tomas was his music.

i think 'I trust you with my life but not your own' as a trope is one of the ones that can always fuck me up no matter what

I’m a terrible, terrible sucker for domestic fluff… (and Tomas with glasses).  I mean… they must have had some quiet evenings where they just sat in a shabby motel room in the middle of nowhere, drank beer, talked, maybe Tomas read something aloud to Marcus or they discussed a certain passage of the bible? I’m so in love with their relationship….
