It's not like he was a pro either but when you noticed him picking up a new hobby you wanted to support him by participating & he would not dare to decline your request. However, explaining was none of his strenghts... "You gotta go like 'swoosh swoosh'- ...no no, with the left, watch it! YES and now let go, LET GO!". Was it stressing you out? Yes. You couldn't do anything productive with those instructions. The poor boy was startled when you just kept giggling while stepping off the board. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
