Trench Warfare - Tumblr Posts
Gauntlet Dagger
This odd weapon was created in the midst of the Great War. Crudely built by a light sheet steel, it was useful for close-quarters combat in a time of trench warfare.
The artist who painted these World War One scenes singed them as “Ray”. Their real identity is still unknown to this day.

“A Captain’s Regret”
My hands are stained with blood,
Hanging over the trench is a rotting corpse,
My uniform is caked in mud,
Men went over the top, became bodies with a thud,
I told them, “show no remorse”,
My hands are stained with their blood,
Rats feast on the dead that lay in the crud,
Flies and maggots infest a dead horse,
My soldiers’ uniforms are caked in mud,
The souls of the dead float away in a scud,
My whistle blow was the death source,
My hands are stained with his blood,
Mustard gas clouds spread like a flood,
I watched him die as the gas ran its course,
His uniform is caked in mud,
The memories so painful, as bitter as cud,
I can’t even blame the enemy force,
My hands are stained with blood,
My uniform is caked in mud.
Churchacide- Bilesoaked Blades
This EP from Austin, Texas area death metallers Churchacide is a rip-roaring take on classic death metal. Riffs upon riffs drive this bludgeoning force, full-steam ahead to tear apart your ears. The musicianship is top-notch, coming from several central- Texas metal masters, and the excellent song-writing will keep you spinning this over and over. While the album title might make one envision a grimy, slimey death metal sound, this album is a barrage of violence, a speedy battering ram for your senses that still maintains plenty of groove. I definitely look forward to a future full-length!
(CDs have mostly been sold out on the band's end, but if you contact them they can tell you which distros may still have copies!)
