Okay, Trini being a cute and awkward gay mess is adorable asf but Trini being a chivalrous sweetheart gets me in the feels. Like she wouldn't even have to be doing big stuff, just holding the door open for Kimberly or buying her a flower just because or sending Kimberly a picture that reminded Trini of her.

Zack trying to make fun of Trini by poking fun at the fact that she would literally jump over the car to open her girlfriend's door and Trini just raising her eyebrow and him and saying, "romance and chivalry aren't dead y'know" before slamming the door into his face when he tries to get out.

Jason trying to tell Trini to tone it down because she's going to attract unwanted attention when she's literally blurring to stand in front of Kim when a car splashes onto a puddle or carrying Kim around town without breaking a sweat

Billy being confused when Trini lands herself in detention for the rest of the year because she usually just saunters in without reason but understanding once he sees the faded bruising on her knuckles and face plus the fact that Ty and some of the other football players aren't at school for a week or two due to some mysterious fight that happened after school.

Okay, so I love Zack. I really do, but I don't always like the way people characterize his relationship with Trini. Like, I get that they'd have a close friendship and basically be brother/sister but... That doesn't mean he's got to tease her about every single thing, or constantly point out she's gay and "can you be more obvious about it" type of deal or basically pressure Trini to so things she's unsure of even of he has good intentions Like, I read fics where (in my opinion) he needlessly pokes fun at her for being herself and "wow, that's was really gay of you to do" Fuck, when my friends did that when I was going through the whole ordeal of figuring out my sexuality I would get so damn sad and angry at myself. Cuz, at the time, I was denying myself of who I really was and when they'd start doing what Zack does it would just fuck with my whole day. I'd become withdrawn from my friends and snap at them because I didn't want to admit I liked girls even when I knew my friends would still love me. I just, I'm sorry but I don't like Zack overly hyping the fact that she's gay when she's still trying to figure herself out or endlessly pushing her to do things she isn't 100% comfortable with.

I'm not gonna lie, I feel like this is basically Trini and Jason's whole friendship

let's talk about ranger healing...

We all got this thing where they heal quickly right? Bruises? Healed by the end of the day. Cuts? Basically gone within the hour or so. Broken bones? Sets themselves, but ya gotta move 'em into position. But, think about this: Injuries from other rangers take longer to heal Now, I'm not saying that they walk around with broken bones blatantly on display, but they'd definitely be able to feel the bruises and cuts they got. Now than, for the real reason I made this post: The first time Kim tries to leave a hickie on Trini's neck, she makes it as big and deep in color as possible since she thinks it'll just disappear the next day Her girlfriend was not amused when she spotted the monster on her neck and flushed each time someone pointed it out Kim wore a sheepish, but proud smile for the rest of the week Trini tried to get revenge and littered hickies all over Kimberly's neck Kim wore them like a badge of honor Kimberly absolutely loves the fact that the hickies she made on Trini don't go away as soon as everything else She puts them places people can see 'cause she's a possessive little shite Trini sorta wishes the ranger healing would make 'em fade away like every other injury they get, but she totally love them as much as Kim, maybe even more Also, Trini likes leaving her own marks on Kim. Said marks primarily being scratches and bite marks.

So i ain’t gonna lie to y’all...

i’ve got a headcanon where rita is obsessed with trini.

but not the whole “i wanna wear your skin” type of obsession, more like the “i see myself in you, so let me test you. become mini-me or whatever” obsession

so when the rangers battle other big bads, rita (’cause y’all know she needs to make a dramatic comeback) is like “leave little yellow to me”

or! or! or! it could be like xiaolin showdown season two, where chase tries to turn omi into a baddie and succeeds, but only for a moderate amount of time before omi reverts back to being a good guy. except in this instance rita is chase in the situation and trini is omi

and rita does all these terrible things to sorta test trini

during fights, rita usually tries to corner trini and have a one-on-one to see if she’s gotten stronger and test her resolve in being a good guy. the others would try to intervene, but rita would just casually dispatch them before making them watch her fight trini and subsequently injury her horrible before leaving with a mocking compliment and promises to meet again

lol, i guess you could also say rita is possessive of trini when it comes to other baddies

idk, i just really like the idea of rita having an obsession with getting trini to join her

Bonus trimberly:

kim gets really protective over trini whenever rita shows up

trini becomes really insecure about being a ranger when she realizes she can understand rita’s twisted mind and her games. kim reassures her she’s nothing like the disgraced green ranger

kim being heartbroken when trini joins rita (under the influence of rita’s magic/possession/mind control/blackmail) and promising to break trini outta rita’s control

kim camps out on trini’s roof right next to the girl’s window for like a straight week after trini is back to normal

trini invites her in after zack tells her there’s a sleeping ranger on her roof

snuggles and deep talk

trini can’t promise it won’t happen again because she truly believes she is like rita so kim vows to give her a reason to never go astray and prove that she isn’t a mini-rita

their first kiss happens ‘cause of this convo. trini actually initiated it, kim was caught off-guard but kissed her back

the first time kim tried to make breakfast trini woke up to her using the fire extinguisher on the toaster

as they get older (or as their relationship progresses) Trini stops calling Kimberly “princess” and instead starts calling her “my queen”

so this ended up being a really rough story type of deal

trini is the android who is assigned to kim to protect her or whatever ‘cause her, zack and billy are working on a way to take down rita

rita, being the head of a corporation for androids, is being investigated for suspected tampering and illegally weaponizing the androids

she’s trying to start her own army to fight against those who oppose her

also world domination

 jason is assigned to the two boys to keep them out of trouble and help kim along the way

he was designed by zordon

zordon, retired head of rita’s company, provides cryptic clues to help them along without outright joining them

kim doesn’t really like trini at first because she’s suspects the tiny latina could turn on her any minute since she was manufactured by unknown company

trini just kind of wandered into the group at one point when a sketchy lead turned dangerous

trini took what would typically be a fatal wound to a human and shrugged it off before slugging the guy who tried to off kim

everyone panicked and thought she would die before jason did a quick scan and told them she was an android

everyone is kind of on their guard around her since she showed up out of nowhere before slowly relaxing after she showed no ill-will

she kind of become their body guard

trini is actually one of rita’s personal ‘droids and was ordered to derail any progress the group makes and, if she has to, eliminate them

overtime she starts to bond with them and actually see what rita was doing is wrong

she doesn’t want to tell the team who her manufacturer actually is because she’s scared they’ll abandon her

she kind of has a Pinocchio ‘i want to be a real boy’ moment because she grew the closest to kim and wants to be with her

she scared of kim’s opinion most of all because she doesn’t want to prove the taller girl’s original theory right and betray her

trini eventually gets outed by zack because he was looking into whatever background he could find on the short ‘droid and saw her standing by rita in many pictures, stating that’s she’s one of her most prized creations

a fight breaks out between the boys and the girls with kim trying the protect her and the boys demanding answers

the boys eventually detain the small android and ask her questions. they don’t get any answers from her but when kim tries...trini can’t look her in the eyes

trini has never really lied to her, omitted the truth yes but never really lied to kim

she eventually breaks and spills her mission to kim, taking in everyone’s betrayed looks and anger filled faces

unfortunately for the group, rita gets impatient with how long it’s taking trini to sabotage them and activates a previously unknown program called Oliver to speed up the mission

trini goes berserk and destroys most of the work the others have done, wrecking the place before making her way to the terrified group, intending to put them out of commission permanently

trini tries to fight off the program

she momentarily succeeds and downloads a quick history of everything rita has done and was planning to do on billy’s computer before doing a forced shutdown

this severely damages both her software and hardware and basically does a complete wipe of her systems happens, which the other won’t know about ‘til later

kim is the first to come out of her shock and runs over to trini

high-key worried

still lowkey pissed and hurt

jason comes over next and does a thorough scan on her to get a full analysis of the damage

billy is too distracted by what’s on his computer to really pay attention to what’s happening before realizing what the info could do to help them

zack asks what to do with the down ‘droid before darkly saying they could dump her in the lake

kim freaks out on him and physically fights him before billy breaks it up and directs their attention to his screen, where all of the information they would’ve needed to take down rita is there and than some

the happy moment is broken up by jason who says they need to get trini to zordon fast if they want a chance to save her

billy and kim are on board with the idea but zack is still skeptical of the downed ‘droid and therefore reject the idea and argues that they don’t need to do anything for her since she was leading them on from the beginning

this time it’s billy who snaps and says they would’ve been much worse off if trini actually tried to do their mission instead of befriending them and helping them by giving them the much needed info

zack reluctantly concedes and they follow jason to zordon’s place

zordon greets them as if he knew what was wrong and direct them to his lab

zordon spends days trying and failing to get trini to power on

kim’s been fluctuating between moods over what’s happened and can’t deal

zack’s being a pessimist about the whole thing but is secretly worried

billy is trying hard to go through all the files and history trini has left him

jason is trying to help zordon in anyway he can but also isn’t succeding

eventually zordon’s assistant, alpha five, figures out what’s going on and informs his master

zordon solemnly tells the group what has happened and what it means for the android

basically while trini is physically fine, everything that made up her is gone

she’ll heal, but she won’t remember 

so we have plenty of people protayed as trini's cousin but think about this... santana lopez as her cousin this is where trini got her resting bitch face this is why trini knows how to deal with douchebag football players, bitchy cheerleaders and asshole people santana taught her how to sing, how to fight back, and eventually how to accept herself santana also gets quinn to help her intimidate trini's girlfriend and ask about their intentions with her baby cousin

this is kimberly anytime trini asks herself if any of the rangers would like to hangout

kim would just burst through the wall like the kool-aid man and be like “i volunteer as tribute!”

when trini officially comes out to her mom, june is confused and a little uncomfortable

june’s been raised to believe that only a man and woman can be together, nothing else

also conflicts with her religion a bit

she had all these fantasies about trini coming to her and talking about any boys she liked, picking out what to wear for dates and any boy problems she had

she’s at a lost of what to do now that trini came out to her

how does she talk to her about girls?? is it the same as asking about boys???

she comes off as overbearing and pushy when she’s trying to ask about any special girls in trini’s life ‘cause she ends up asking awkward questions making the both of them uncomfortable

yahoo becomes june’s best friend when asking questions about her gay daughter

trini goes through a phase where she thinks june doesn’t love her and is just waiting to kick her out

things become a little bit more strained between them

trini distances herself more from her mom and june is desperately trying to understand her daughter

it all boils over at a church function

they start screaming at each other in front of everyone and they’re both crying

trini comes out again, saying that she can’t change who she is

june replies she doesn’t want her to change, just wants to understand her again before everything started going to shit

they hug it out, they both still got issues to sort through but this one is the start of their healing relationship

someone from the church is visibly disgusted and loudly voices their displeasure at trini being allowed to come to the church

some others agree with them, but the majority don’t really care since the Big Guy Upstairs loves everyone

the pastor’s about to come and ‘politely’ disagree with their opinion before june beats ‘em to it

june goes apeshit on these people, scaring them into submission and causing an even bigger scene

the pastor is silently clapping and cheering her on in the background

a couple weeks later, after everything’s died down trini asks if she could bring her girlfriend over for dinner

june drops the lasagna she’s holding out of surprise

trini:...is that a ‘no’?

kim comes over later, nervous and skittish

doesn’t help that trini’s dad keeps mentioning his nonexistent guns or the fact that the twins are staring at her with frowns

honestly, the only one she feels relatively comfortable with is june and that’s only for a little bit before june starts purposely asking awkward questions

and trini? well, she’s having the time of her life ‘cause she never thought this would be possible

so i headcanon that the rangers are in tenth grade so they’re around 15-16,

but i made kim the oldest cuz she was held back so she should be in eleventh grade making her around 16-17 instead

but i also made trini my youngest one, having maybe skipped a grade

meaning i made them around a year or two apart

and opened up a bunch of cougar and cradle-robbing jokes for zack

y’all are gonna hate me for this but it has to be done

 i’m gonna be blunt here

the fact that we exclude billy from the “we’re all screw-ups” thing, but not zack or trini kinda ticks me off

like, majorly

kimberly is on the list because she was a stereotypical cheerleader: (formerly) self-centered and mean with a slight superiority due to said status, impulsive, jealousy issues

crime? 

she sent a nude pic of her (ex)friend (why she has it in the first place is up in the air) to her (ex)boyfriend which later got leaked(?). This is child pornography, which could also make her a registered sex offender in some states

jason, well he used to be the big-man-on-campus. football star with a lot of potential. not much is given on his “before” character, maybe a bit of arrogance and cockiness, teenage angst and a rebellious stage(?)

anyway, his crime?

the prank after school hours, this isn’t exactly high on the list of no-no’s but breaking and entering is. a lot of schools have taken up on locking their doors during school and after hours due to school shooting. strike one - breaking and entering. he also attempted to evade arrest when the police showed up which can either be seen as a misdemeanor or a felony. in some cases, jason could have even been charged with reckless driving  when he was going Fast and Furious, causing him to crash and bust his knee. hence the ankle bracelet = probation strike two. later, with billy’s help, he had his ankle bracelet deactivated <-- very much illegal!!! like possible jail time and a fine illegal

billy is autistic and seems to have most of his bullying stem from that alone. he’s shown to be very intelligent (like o.p. levels of intelligent) and a handyman. but because of this, we are all forgetting something so freaking important!

billy’s crime?

he brought mothafucking explosives to school. a bomb and an unstable one at that since it just went BOOM. one, explosives are very much illegal unless special requirements are met. he made his own, brought it to school and left it unsupervised. two, he caused extensive property damage to the school and could have fatally harmed those around ground zero. he’s lucky he wasn’t expelled, charged with homegrown terrorism (despite not meaning for the bomb to  go off or actually harm anyone) or fined extensively. he was, no, is dangerously negligent. three, he DEACTIVATED jason’s ankle bracelet!! AGAIN THAT’S ILLEGAL AND HE COULD FACE A FINE OR JAIL TIME FOR TAMPERING!!!! ALSO HE HAS EVEN MORE EXPLOSIVES!! LIKE IM VERY SURE YOU NEED A LICENCE AND HAVE TO BE OF AGE!!!! almost forgot he totaled his mom’s van

these three kind of deserve the label “screw ups” when jason was giving his speech, but zack and trini? well let’s see...

trini? perpetual new girl. doesnt really talk much, kind of a grump, likes yoga and death metal. closed off and has family problems. mysterious and invisible, people dont really know her name

crazy girl, crazy crime?

closed of from family, specifically her mother. doesn’t open up much. not into labels. no friends (at first). listens to metal at a high volume that could cause damage to her eardrums, does yoga right next to a CLIFF SIDE. minor damage to school property i.e ripping locker off hinges and potentially breaking something fragile sounding in another room. riding on top of bus. later gets detention for unknown reasons.

crimes?

skips school, sits on broken train car and stares at trini, implied crush in trini, takes mastodon zord out for a joyride despite not having morphed, takes care of mother, clashes with jason, later gets detention for unknown reasons

i know i made kim’s super short compared to jason and billy’s (who i sorta put in a bad light) but i couldn’t word it any more than that really. jason and billy did a lot of stupid things that could’ve gotten them in a lot of trouble, kim too, and breaking it down just makes it seem worse. trini and zack’s were kinda short too but they weren’t really fleshed out as much. also i’m not trying to say that trini and zack are complete angels i just wanted to say that they’re less deserving of the title “screw-ups” than the other three.

i’m not trying to make this a pissing contest either, i really just made this post because it was bugging me that people see billy as a “can do no wrong angel”

by the way, they all get an extra crime for trespassing and running away from the police
