This winter I was reading ‘The Virgin Suicides’ by Jeffrey Eugenides. I had both versions - the original version and the German translation - and I loved comparing them very much. Especially Cecilias poem and its translation kept me thinking - because it sounds a little strange in German. That is why I very often think about how I would have translated it differently ... maybe someday I’ll have a good idea.
