Nembrotha cristata (Crested Nembrotha)
A strikingly colored nudibranch. Many nudibranchs incorporate the toxins of their prey into their bodies to become injurous or unpleasant to eat. N. cristata prey mainly on tunicates, but occasionally prey on jellyfish. This species stores the jellyfish's nematocysts (stinging cells) within its own body to sting and deter predators.

But it melts, dissolves in the timid rays of the night light. The silence envelops me, drawing me back into the cocoon of my old dream. But I can throw it off, I can break out. To the cold moon, which, like me, wants to break out of its cloud-woven cocoon, forward into the storm. And maybe I can touch her...

Underwater Shipwreck Photo Shoot Conceived and Photographed by Von Wong +++ Reminds me very much of Alexander McQueen's memorable Spring/Summer 2003 "Irere" collection featuring models as shipwrecked castaways.
