two sexiest man in Ohtori

Utena stretches when she's uncomfortable or anxious.
At the hotel scene we see her from akio's view, while thru the whole sequence we hear NOTHING but utena's voice, while she constantly stretches and talks about stuff not remotely related to the moment, shes not talking about whats going to happen between them, shes not talking about the hotel, shes talking about anthy, and how she wishes Anthy was there with them.

Utena clearly isnt comfortable with whats going to happen. Usually in Japan, woman shower before sex, instead of after it.
Utena in a sequence is shown getting out of the shower, while Akio continues to say not a single word. In the actual scene, Utena never looks into Akios eyes, she's looking at anything that isnt him, she's not talking about them having sex, she's talking about what should she do for tomorrow's lunch, shes talking about Anthy, everything while her face clearly resembled discomfort with him on top of her. When he finishes, or penetrates, her whole expression changes, shes gone to discomfort to pain, she obviously isnt happy with it.

Utena Tenjou was raped by Akio Ohtori.
Even if she had said yes in the beginning, she clearly didn't wanted to be there, that was not consent. If someone ur having sex with cant even stop talking about anything but the actual moment thats a damn sign to stop, she didn't wanted to be there.
Even afterwards, in the car scene, going back to Ohtori, her face seems exhausted, sad, which implies she regrets it all, because she's changed now, she can't go back.

In the same car scene, the word "stop" continues to show on the road over and over again.
In the end, Akio didn't stop.

Anthy Himemiya & Utena Tenjou - Utena, la fillette révolutionnaire

UTENA REDRAW!!!!
2024 vs. 2020 :D speedpaint here <3

was looking through the utena storyboards again and was reminded how sad and scared utena looks in the episode 33 ones :(

episode 9 / episode 38 / episode 39
the lighting and rose petals in the episode 9 shot framed it as a romantic/sweet moment where the prince (utena) gallantly saved the princess/damsel in distress (anthy). utena's firm grasp on anthy's helpless hand. utena and anthy were both wearing the "prince" and rose bride's outfits (utena was wearing her school shirt, which was the basis of her prince outfit). utena and anthy were essentially performing the roles assigned to them: a prince who saves princesses versus a princess being saved by the prince from harm.
in the episode 37 shot, the background was just the blue night sky with stars dotting it; a rather somber framing. utena and anthy were in their sleepwear; utena's seemingly haphazard yet firm grasp on anthy wrist, most probably due to how hurriedly utena went over to grab anthy, who was falling off the balcony. the positioning of anthy's hand could be seen as her resolute unwillingness to help/save herself or be helped/saved. they were not performing any roles, just as themselves, a friend trying to help another friend; making their own decisions without external influences (their roles/the system/akio). the colour of their sleepwear being similar may signify that they were more equal to each other here, compared to when they're in school or when they're playing the roles of the prince and the rose bride. also, the whole suicide attempt scene was one of the most vulnerable and honest moments for both of them.
and lastly, the shot from episode 39. utena's injured left hand reached out to anthy; anthy grasped onto utena's fingers. they both reached out to the other, different from the previous two times (episodes 9 and 37), where only utena reached out to anthy. the soft light in the background evoked a sense of hopefulness. here, they reached out for the other as they were, souls fully bared (anthy wasn't wearing any clothes and in this shot, the sleeve of utena's prince outfit wasn't visible). the rose crest ring was still on utena's left hand, highlighting utena's belief that she could only truly save anthy as a prince, that she needed to be a prince to truly save anthy (this was further emphasised by utena apologising to anthy for "pretending to be a prince" as she hung over the ledge after anthy's hand slipped from her grasp).
notably, in episodes 9 and 37, utena reached out to anthy with her right hand, not her left hand that had the rose crest ring. also, as mentioned above, in episode 9, utena was wearing her school uniform, instead of her prince outfit. i think that these details may connote the endless extent of utena's care for anthy, beyond the role she had to perform as the one engaged to the rose bride. and this was the same for episode 39, too; despite being stabbed by anthy, utena was still determined to help anthy out of her suffering.
Help Empty Movement Help You
Hey! Vanna here. I'm going to get to the point. There have been a rash of sales of Utena production materials that have gone for ludicrous sums, and I have won none of them. This sucks, because at this point, this is stuff I'd be scanning for Something Eternal, sure, but also, for the fucking Internet Archive. When I ask for help, it's because I want to contribute to the Utena museum, which I try to share as freely as possible. Y'all know the drill.
....But I'm gonna be fucking selfish here. Help me. I fucking need these. You need to remember.....
Akio is my favorite character.
My personal g-mail STILL HAS HIS FULL NAME IN IT. Forgive me this sin, and for a moment, consider...

I have this one cel. I cherish it for many reasons. It's a calm before a storm. It's his last little pretense of being a gentleman. And then he gets shoved the fuck off, in the face, full offense, in one of the most satisfying moments in the show, and I mean this as an Akio fan.
I mean, I like the character, I'm fascinated with him, etc....but no one else in the world is going to appreciate ownership of the fucking production materials of him getting shoved in the face like I will I KNOW YOU KNOW THAT ;_;

Just fuckin' help me, idk, there's Patreon, there's PayPal (emptymovement), there's the drop ship merch (I make very little off these tho tbh they're just kinda neat things I've made), there's sending me cursed pirate gold literally whatever I fucking need these so much, and that's not even to speak of the literal fucking series icon moments in this lot that I do, seriously, believe belong in a museum and would at least digitize them that way and make considerations for where they'd be safest long term
I'm so serious this is fucking history and I trust myself to ensure its survival better than whoever else is gonna bid just hekofeygfwefgqlufgew kufgwed

And someday together, we'll shine!
My introduction to Revolutionary Girl Utena was the clip of Adolescence of Utena where Utena and Anthy dance. However I mistook their reflections as their show appearances. Here's an exploration of that idea

Utena lineart! She's a little unrecognisable without colour in my artstyle.. but oh well
we watched the black rose musical last night and i'm still thinking about how much akio goes around just.. touching other characters, even in scenes he isn't actually really supposed to be part of. it's a really interesting directing choice. sometimes it's just a touch, like a hand on someone's arm or shoulder, but most of the time he's pushing people. very much like in the show, he is putting the actors (the characters) into the positions he needs them in. only here it's very literal. and instead of just telling them where to be, like a stage director might do, it's physical, hands-on, even kind of violent at times, yet still subtle enough that nobody notices. nobody ever reacts to it, they just move to where he needs them to be, stumbling into place and continuing to play their roles.
and i could talk about exactly who gets pushed when and to where (like how the first and last person he does it to is anthy-as-mamiya, how it's a light push, really just a touch to keep the momentum of what they're already doing going, as opposed to the way he kind of shoves other characters), but the thing that really stood out to me is that the only character he does touch but doesn't ever really push (aside from i think anthy, and i do have a lot of thoughts on the scene where they're dancing together that i may get into in another post) is utena. what he does instead instead is pull her.

in the opening number, there's a moment where it seems like utena is about to walk off-stage (like tokiko does in the scene, because their choreography is mirroring each other. very clever), but before she can, akio grabs her arm and turns her towards the center of the stage instead, where she lies down in her "coffin". the show proper starts, of course, with the once upon a time story of utena meeting the prince, and a recap of the first arc/musical. and of course akio is the one who puts her into position for it. she's still trapped in her coffin.

and, i don't know, there's just something especially unsettling to me about it compared to the pushing. maybe just that it's different from his interactions with every other character. or the contrast between the pushing being more direct and aggressive, compared to him subtly and gently guiding her around the stage, into the chair or closer to him. there's something horribly personal or intimate about it i guess, especially since he often takes her hand to do it.
