Backstory: Starting as a member of the Tharn noble family in Cheydinhal, Alessia had everything given to them. As they grew older, they had begun expressing violent tendencies, even going as far as to murder their older brother. As a plague on their family, an ancient curse was placed on them; the Curse of Eternal Damnation. Alessia was later imprisoned and labeled 'Mad', at least until the Emperor had demanded that they be free to aid Cyrodil.

i'm glad that ESO "retconned" that fragment in The Battle of Red Mountain about sotha sil being the one to convince the dunmer that their change is a good thing
The Dunmer were at first afraid of their new faces, but Sotha Sil spoke to them, saying that it was not a curse but a blessing, a sign of their changed natures, and sign of the special favor they might enjoy as New Mer, no longer barbarians trembling before ghosts and spirits, but civilized mer, speaking directly to their immortal friends and patrons, the three faces of the Tribunal. sotha sil's own memories in ESO confirm that it was almalexia. "We've cursed them all. They'll be cast out. Disgraced." "Curse them? Why, we've given them the gift of divine protection." (Female voice) almalexia genuinely wanted to protect her people. "fuck nerevar" is just a part of her actual motivation. vivec is mixing things up because he doesn't care who said what, it's all "white noise" to him. he's probably the only tribune who did what he did just because he wanted to be a god.
i know a lotta ppl hate almalexia but 1. she doesnt do anything worse than sotha sil and dagoth ur and people love those guys
and 2. i do have some sympathy for her given she was born under nordic occupation unable to govern her people, likely having to fear for her life every day. and then when you finally drive the nords out of your home and can wear the crown you were born to wear with pride to lead your people. some man significantly older than you strong arms you into a political marriage so actually he can rule and you can just be an accessory to him that legitimizes his rule.

vivec is usually depicted as a god with fire hair, but i suppose what is the difference between fire and water? fire consumes. water remembers. i dont know okay dont listen to me

We can officially confirm that Rigurt the Brash has in fact met Vivec. As a gift, Rigurt offered the God-King an empty box, previously containing rabbit meatballs and a wheel of stinky cheese that Rigurt ate while waiting in line to meet Vivec. Vivec found this to be quite funny.
