You really think that being trans is a “choice”?

Then tell me why Nex endured over a year of abuse before being murdered by their own peers in a fucking bathroom. Tell me why Nex never “decided” to “stop being trans” to avoid the abuse. Tell me why anyone would “choose” to keep taking all the hatred thrown their way. Tell me how that makes any sense.

Unless that’s who they are. Unless living as anything else would be living a lie. Tell me how being forced to live a lie until something inside you breaks is somehow better than spending life comfortably as who you truly are. And tell me how it’s fair that someone saw that life and decided that it didn’t deserve to be here at all.

Whenever I tell someone I have depression/anxiety most of them act surprised. Yeah I’m kind of good at hiding it. Yes I smile, yes I laugh and joke around constantly. But that doesn’t mean there isn’t something wrong.

Be aware of who you talk to, make sure to always be kind.

Telling someone with depression, “can you stop talking please?” Will constantly repeat in their mind, making them feel less comfortable opening up and talking to others

Telling someone with anxiety, “what would so and so say if you did that? Would they hate you?” Will eat at them for days upon months upon years

Be aware of mental illness. It doesn’t hurt to watch what you say. We aren’t crazy, all we ask for is some peace and love.
