This is what I really want- James wouldn’t just give up on Reg (or anyone) for getting the dark mark. If you love someone then you trust them not to be wizard nazis!! James is the most trusting characterization I’ve encountered in this fandom and I won’t let anyone tell me he wouldn’t be the first to try and find out why Reg did it, find him a way out and make sure he knows he’s loved
