Thinking about this. I don't know why that guy is almost treated like he's video game/card/v-pets exclusive, emphasis on the "almost" as my words might become poorly aged if he debuts in an anime or manga.

While I never watched the Adventure reboot myself, only picked up info about it, I feel like there's a missed opportunity for that Andromon to have some sort of redemption like Ogremon somehow? Or maybe to some people, it was better off for that one not becoming an ally of the DigiDestined as it makes him “standout” more from the other incarnations of his species depicted throughout the series in general (I don’t know about the jerk Andromon from the X-Evolution movie counts though...)

I do feel like there was something missing for that Andromon in the reboot, like what if the panning for the reboot wasn’t messy/rushed(?) in a “what-if” scenario; There would’ve been an episode that the kids returned back to the weapons factory, but something about that place has changed and the same Andromon is “rebirthed” into his Mega form, and at some point he recollects his memories and remembers that he killed his fellow brethren when he was brainwashed and felt heavy regrets from said action. It would reflect on how HiAndromon is more self-aware than his previous form, but that’s just me for liking the two cyborg monsters though.

The only role memorable for HiAndromon was in the Digimon World 3 video game, were people remembered playing it and getting defeated by him as he was a boss from that game and how tough the guy was.

The only thing close to how HiAndromon would look like in the anime or rather the “Toei style” is his artwork from a mobile game named Digimon New Century here’s the artwork in question:
