My Thoughts On This - Tumblr Posts
Diatrymon and HiAndromon are the Digimon I’m still waiting for them to appear in a anime of sorts, but mostly HiAndromon as they strangely leave this guy out for ever using him in any anime and only keep him within the video game/card/v-pets.
What’s holding them back from using that guy, eh?
Diatrymon is one of those mons that I forget exists, but like... seeing it in Survive makes me like it more? I remember grinding against them on Proxy Island in Dawn/Dusk and feeling ambivalent towards them, but now I'm kind of loving its design?
Which brings me to my point: Literally half of all Digimon qualify as Glup Shittos because there's literally 1000+ and not even half of them half appeared in the same game/anime/piece of media.
It’s also one of the moments where Andromon shows some expressions.

Love the way birdramon looks here
That part about HiAndromon makes me think that’ll be the day they would start using him is when there’s an anime adaption of the general lore of Digimon.
I’m still waiting for the day he’ll finally appear, but for now, I guess he lies on the hands of the fans to be used in fanfiction even though I technically want him to be used officially so that others can be aware that this guy exists (I’ve seen some posts on a different website where it seems like some people aren’t aware that HiAndromon exists.)
Favorite Digimon from each V-Pet, part 1
Inspired by the recent V-Pet popularity poll, I thought of going through each iteration of the Digimon V-Pets and determining which are my favorite digimon introduced by them.
For today: The original Digital Monster (1997-1998), and the answer is very easy for me:

I’ve liked Andromon ever since I rewatched Digimon Adventure. His first appearence is wonderfully atmospheric, foregoing the fantasy elements of the previous episodes for pure “sci-fi” (soft sci-fi, but still), clearly aping “Terminator” for the tension and succeeding. Andromon was then mostly forgotten… until the Dark Masters arc, where suddenly we learn that he’s been fighting Mugendramon on his own for years, and he’s even become badass enough to trade blows with Piedmon himself (for a few seconds, but this is a minor character going up against the main villain of the arc). His later role in Digimon Tamers was also good, though admittedly he was only Andromon for a short time there. The Next manga has him as the leader of the resistance against Barbamon, helping Yuu overcome his trauma, fearlessly fighting a hopeless battle against Chaosdramon and his forces. Personally, he’s also been my ace in several Digimon games, and carried my team through a lot of the later portions of Digimon Story: Moonlight.
Design-wise, he’s my favorite example of how crude these first cyborg designs were. Later on, they’d become more polished and complete, clearly showing that the Crack Team had gotten better at this, but the half-finished look of this first batch remains my favorite. It gives the impression of being a process that is being perfected, the very start of a new type of creature. It also highlights how horrible it might be, as the uncovered parts of his body hint at what exactly might have been done to create him. It feels more “real” than later, cleaner designs.
His profile indicates he was one of the first “artificial” digimon to be created by the Crack Team, alongside Boltmon, and that he lacks any will or emotion. I picture a silent Andromon, unmoving inside the Crack Team’s base as the emotional Boltmon is “consigned to oblivion in the darkness”, uncaring for his fellow creation’s suffering. I picture the same Andromon, years later, being upgraded to HiAndromon and suddenly becoming self-aware, being able to feel, remembering how he stood by and did nothing as someone who might as well be his brother was banished. It’s a shame no digimon product (barring a Heroes card) has ever done anything with the backstory hinted at in these profiles, because its fascinating to think of the possibilities.
My favorite line for this digimon is: Choromon -> Caprimon -> Kokuwamon -> Guardromon -> Andromon -> HiAndromon. HiAndromon was explained above, and the reasoning for the pre-evolutions will come at a later date.
Honorary Mentions: MetalGreymon (virus), MetalMamemon, Coelamon, Raremon.
How come this didn't get any likes or reblogs? This gives me inspiration for a Andromon and Kabuterimon or MegaKabuterimon fusion.

Unrelated, but due to the news of Digimon Seekers, I realized the Data Shard reminds me of the Prototype Digicore Interface that Dorumon, Ryudamon, and the newly-revealed Loogamon have, giving me a new idea out of this.
This idea just represents users that have went to archive the remains of Fer.al so I thought of it like this:
Some prototype creatures created by a mysterious group who wanted to preserve the remaining data from a world that fell under a dark corruption of sorts that have destroyed said place. These beings that once lived in that world were almost wiped out if it weren’t for the mysterious group’s effort to save their remaining data from a full-on deletion. A few of them survived from the corruption within the other world but unfortunately became mutated and evil.
The survived but unfortunately corrupted ones are suppose to be (or at least represent) the Faes, Imps, and Minotaurs as they’re the only Sparks that were kept for Cinder.

here's the images i got the lore from! idk the actual source bc i found it on the fer ever discord so. yeah. there was one more image but it was basically All Crypto Shit so. begone with that.
woah thank you!!
I find it funny that the Angel Digimon have somewhat of a strong resemblance to Robocop more than Andromon, but then we have his Mega form HiAndromon and the resemblance is more stronger in that Digimon than himself.

Am I the only one who thought the new Sonic character’s armor looks like Guardromon? The shoes, the brown with the beige-like accents definitely reminded me of him.
this is the “digimon evolutions be like” meme

There's a dialogue compared to the Japanese dub and English dub that's missing here. I became aware of this from a Twitter post in Japanese though do bear with me that this is machine-translated and I'm only putting up Andromon's quote:
"I'm ashamed to say it myself, but Andromon of Justice!" - Andromon, Digimon Tamers Episode 31 Japanese Dub
But in the English dub, in a proudful and shameless manner he says:
"A humble servant in the fight for good! Andromon the Just!" - Andromon, Digimon Tamers Episode 31 English Dub
This was just me noticing again how various Digimon media greatly contradicts the Andromon species reference book lore.
Digimon Tamers - Episode 31
Original title: “Friendship with Guardromon! I’ll Fight Too, Tamer Hirokazu” (ガードロモンとの友情!僕も戦うテイマーヒロカズ Guardromon to no Yuujou! Boku mo Tatakau Tamer Hirokazu) Dub title: “Kazu’s Upgrade”
Director: Yoshizawa Takao (original) Writer: Urasawa Yoshio (original), Seth Walther (dub)

I can understand your pain that this Digimon doesn't get that much fan art...
It hurts when you're a fan of a Digimon who has never debut in a anime or a manga for that matter.

Ayo @abridgilliance pls don't block me for interacting w/ you it would be real cool to have the full art of this guy Aldamon too but I'm not going back
I remember talking to a friend of mine that Greely's notes back in Classic, specially his notes placed in the Chamber of Knowledge, Coral Canyons, and the Temple of the Ancients notes have interesting lore implications.
I'll start off with the Chamber of Knowledge note:

This implies that Play Wild takes place in a alternative continuity/universe of the original Animal Jam going by the "different worlds" implication. As if they're intertwined with each other due to similar events involving Lightside and Darkside as the Phantoms are using Darkside energy to rearrange things.
Second comes the Coral Canyons note:

This too implies the alternative timeline/universe connection, especially that it seems like there's no new Adventures in Classic, the Phantoms are still going about destruction within the Play Wild continuity.
The third and last note; The Temple of the Ancients note that talks about Juno's spirit being no longer having presence in the statue:

When Play Wild's October 2023 sneak peak came out, I speculated that the Lightside Arctic Wolf and Darkside Arctic Wolf were going to be unique NPCs represented Juno's spirit being split into halves when their spirit somehow moved into the Play Wild universe.
The Lightside spirit would've shown up if anyone joined the Lightside and had a calm-manner dialogue while the Darkside spirit would've showed up if anyone joined the Darkside and had a brash-like dialogue I've imagined what the two would be.
In my opinion when they finally showed up in-game, I was disappointed that they were just Arctic Wolves that players can purchase with real money and not unique NPCs that participated in the event.
Now onward to Greely's disappearance before the PW Greely's resign, these two Jamaa Journals from Classic by Peck and Sir Gilbert when the Lightside vs. Darkside was still going on within Play Wild:

The two Alphas mention that they wonder where did Greely went? Does this imply that the Greely from the original Animal Jam (Classic)'s universe somehow "leapt through worlds" and end up taking in the place of Play Wild's Greely during the whole Lightside vs. Darkside event? It's like Greely wanted to know what was going on with Classic's Jamaa Township getting rearranged by the Lines of Power manipulated by the Phantoms so he had to investigate somewhere but failed as the Lightside won and went into hiding wherever he is now...
Though it may not be the Greely of Classic that end up in Play Wild, as his statue and armor set is still seen in Classic Alpha Headquarters. Liza's comment in Classic's Jamaa Journal in Classic's November update; besides her and the rest of the Alphas concerned for Greely's absence, she wonders if the Phantoms are threatening "somewhere beyond their world":

In Play Wild's November update, a Jamaa Journal from Peck says she felt a "mysterious presence" working alongside them when everyone was connected to the Lightside:

Would this mean Juno's spirit was there during the whole time during the Lightside vs. Darkside event? I feel like they would get revived from the magical energies from the Lightside, like how the dinosaurs and their homeplace Mesoterra was revived through those Alpha Fossils.
This is all that I wanted to say.
im still so baffled greely just resigned. You can just do that???? correct me if im wrong but werent the alphas chosen by zios and mira??? greely just about to disregard the will of actual gods???? Okay :) Yay :)
Those guys don't wanna try cause' they're allergic to said series just cause' you can't enslave them with humans too, my gawn it really does show those type of fans are unaccepting jerks judging by how they love that mechanic within that game.
I don't get the people touting palworld as a clever deconstruction like no it just sucks. If you want a monster franchise that's sort of fucked up and yucky and weird and has guns and wants to talk about how war is hell. AND is actually fucking good and has a heart instead of just being like "lol look at how SHOCKING and CRAZY we're being". Digimon is right there.
People who only like the game for that one specific mechanic (the player can do it to humans too within said game) are an obvious, glaring, red flag to me and it says a lot about them when their true colors show up as they shamelessly defend the game from other people criticizing the game's flaws and go as far to sling out offensive slurs to them who voice out on it from what I've seen within the replies of Twitter posts related to said game.
Man... I'ma just be real with y'all. I don't give a shit about Palworld. It's all Ive funken heard about the past week or so and I just... I just don't care! On one side of the Halo 1 ass team death match y'all are in the trenches of you have the overly zealous Pokemon fans who will needle the game to death over the slightest shortcomings and similarities. Buddy, pal, friend... GameFreak will be fine. They're gunna be ok ...
But equally bad are the ones who will take any criticism of their new personality defining game as an attack on the sanctity of their marriage or something. I'm sorry guys, the game looks painfully boring, if it didn't look like pokemon with guns you wouldn't be playing it.
But this isn't why I'm tired... If that was all I had to say about this issue I wouldn't have made a post about it on what is supposed to be a tokusatsu blog... Shit this is supposed to be a toku blog... What episode of Kingohger are we on?... We're in the 40s!?...... Man I let that one get away from me... okay!!! Not the point, not the point, we'll deal with that later. The point is! We already HAD Pokemon with guns and murder and even more obvious furry bait.
WHERE WERE YALL WHEN MY MAIN MAN AGUMON WAS FIGHTING FOR HIS LIFE HUH?

Look at em...
Y'all wanted a more mature Pokemon? Man we've had that since the 90s! We already have Palworld at home! We are not stopping and spending more money on edgy monsters when you barely play with the ones I got you last week! You want guns? You want your cute scrunkle squinkle toodle pops to have guns?

Do Gargomon and his funny little pants mean nothing to you?! Fucken ... This one is just a gun!

Gundramon is just 30 guns in a trench coat...
Death?... Ya want death and mature themes? Some real stakes and some real consequences for our sins and transgressions? Ya want to Nuzlocke and pop your way though a story where Fido can die if you forget to give him his ear medication?

Eat my ENTIRE ass.
Slavery? You want... Wait y'all want actually want that?... Like the whole putting y'all's dog on the assembly line to build Mitsubishi Outlanders thing has been in a LOT of the back and forth... I'm not sure what y'all are talking about.... Yeah...
Anyway yeah Digimon... Digital monsters. Digimon are the champions here. Play Palworld if you want, I haven't seen anything that indicates it's actually funding anything uncouth... And hate pal world if you want! I always advocate for more hate in the world. Hating things is fun!... Just... I don't care. I just don't care about monsuno for men. Bakugan for big boys. Telefang for taxpayers... Uh... Monster rancher for retirees....
...
...are we really in the 40s with Kingohger?...
As I've mentioned from my previous reblogged post, this game attracts racist trash for said mechanic and I hate it that people glance over it.
No, actually if yer out here defending Palworld in any regard you need to be mentioning the fucking human npc slavery mechanic.
Please note I don't support this game for the slaving mechanic nor do I want to support it. This is about if the game would've actually antagonized and punished the player for going down that path.
Had this game not have a crazed mishmashed of Pokémon designs alongside emphasizing and enabling the player that enslaving Pals and humans makes the game "better", it should've been an evil route. Basically, this evil route is like a "automatic option" to hard mode, making it as a form of punishment for the player for committing such acts.
Taking the evil route, NPCs views on the player have changed into hating them and going against them as they acknowledged the player for enslaving humans and Pals. The two has a higher chance of revolting against the player and refuse to do any work for them. Everyone in the game is out to get you.
But too bad the real game isn't like I what I said. Oh yeah, I don't know if anyone before me mentioned this, but there's no NPCs that commit to enslaving humans and Pals, only the player does it. I've heard there's NPCs designated as villains but I don't think they're slaving humans and Pals.
Edit: Nope! Apparently they're not just giving you the option to mistreat your pals, you get railroaded into it via "pay to win" but now it's "enslave to win" because not enslaving them makes the game a ton slower. The exact same formula that's despised across the board when it's demanding money, but now it's demanding slavery, and that's seriously fucked up.
Original post:
Undertale: literally gives you the option to commit genocide.
no one flips their shit and says the game is endorsing genocide. It is constantly celebrated and unavoidable because everyone loves the series so much.
Palworld: gives you the option to mistreat your pals
suddenly everyone is on board with PETA-style claims that this game is endorsing animal abuse. As though all of the same criticisms haven't been lobbed at Pokemon since day 1...Pokemon, where you're literally beating and catching animals to fight them.
I think people should just admit they're mad about having proof that modern Pokemon games are shitty glitched messes that they shouldn't be wasting their money on because the company is lazy and greedy and can't make a playable game even with millions of times the budget and manpower of some random indie game that's parodying them.
i wouldn't say this was my "breaking point" but dang that saddens me a lil when i found someone's post outside of this site wanting to play that game (said post was made two days after it was released) instead of being introduced to digimon cyber sleuth where we got two monster dudes who looks like rc but are obviously different from his design other than being cyborgs in general.
though recommending cyber sleuth as another game to play besides trying out that one isn't a bad idea.
Oh so that explains why the designers made the kobolds of fer.al look more like werewolves than something reptilian looking. Especially the fact some of the developers had inspiration from various Japanese media such as the Shinigami's hint references Ryuk from Death Note.
This is a question that’s been bothering me, and after looking into it I think I get it
So kobolds first appear in Germanic folklore as domestic spirits. Kobolds are also considered mine spirits, causing cave-ins and tapping on things in the dark to scare miners
Think the elves from The Elves and the Shoemaker, but bastards
This association with mines and caves and bastardy gets them into the world of tabletop RPGs when Gary Gygax adds them to his fantasy supplement of Chainmail. Kobolds are later added to Dungeons & Dragons as a subterranean race of monsters
Here’s the important thing: due to a throwaway line in the rulebooks about the kobolds having doglike voices, the first artist to depict a D&D kobold gave it a dog nose

This is the beginning point in the divergent evolution
Kobolds in western TTRPG will notoriously become more and more reptilian with each generation, leaning on the interpretation of “chihuahua dragons,” but it’s at this time, heavily inspired by Dungeons & Dragons, that the video game series Wizardry begins

They brought the dog kobolds with them
Wizardry becomes extremely popular in Japan, inspiring JRPG series like Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy as well as manga series like Dungeon Meshi. And while in the west the kobold has become increasingly reptilian with each edition, the Japanese kobold has become increasingly canine
And this is why in the greater fantasy genre, kobolds represent everything from

To

To

And

From bringing up a MMO dedicated to raising monsters, it just reminds me how some users within the Animal Jam fandom wants some sort of "V-Pet" mechanic for the avatar animals. I know that game alongside it's 3D counterpart doesn't count as a monster raising/collecting (maybe I should just call it as creature raising/collecting in this case?) If said feature was ever a thing, this would imply that the various animal avatars the player has brought is their group of animals they've befriended and raised.
Classic has a feature which a user can switch animals and have their own levels from leveling up in Adventures. Example: An elephant that's on level 3, but their arctic fox is at level one due to them being newly brought and played once in Adventures.
Though there's no turn-based battles and no stats for each animal the player can train to increase them, but certain clothing items equipped can give out more power to increase inflicted damage only on certain obstacles, they can't be used on Phantoms cause' the developers wants to make sure it isn't too violent for young players but yet throwing Boomseeds (which are like, organic bombs) to defeat them is okay strangely enough.
The only "V-Pet" like mechanic present within the series is only on Animal Jam: Play Wild! where you can take care of your animal's pets through the Pet Station or the PetSitter Pro to nurture a bunch of them. If the pets are fully nurtured and have enough energy, they can be used to sent out into Pet Expeditions to retrieve awards for you. Each pet has their own preferred location they like to visit, but some don't have any known preferred location. These are pretty much it on what you can do with them.
“Palworld is good actually because it gives Pokemon competition” you bitches couldn’t even handle Digimon. Scratch that you bitches couldn’t even handle Moshi Monsters.
This reminded me that I had a dark theory if the Spark is the lifeforce of a creature and if it gets badly damaged, they'll start to cease function and die. Thankfully, Planet Feral's core has this said energy that attracts Sparks to the planet can revive and reincarnated them into a new form from using the planet core's energy so they can live a new life.
I didn't know there was canonical explanation if they managed to survive with a cracked Spark.

“valiance of sparks damage and disability”
WAIT is this really something that can happen to us if we go to battle?!
