Another au? Another au.

Worship

Straight to the point: While everyone was celebrating Luisa's gift, somebody sneaked into the house, planning to kidnap Mirabel

Isabela, who was seeing Dolores off to her room spotted it and tried to intervene.

Apparently, flowers isn't a good wearpon

I'll try to write something, but you can send asks

Worship AU

Isabela Maria

Born: ???

Known as a troublesome girl. Often questioned adults' authority as a child, refusing to follow rituals. Which often caused punishment for her.

Wasn't even supposed to be in the family. Got in here just so she won't tell anyone who took Mi...

Rafaela

"Born": 14 November

One of the "brinded" in the family. Growing in here, she treats everything like a part of normal life. Not exactly different from any other kid in the family.

Mirabel? Who is Mirabel?

In the Worship Au, Isabela tried to fight someone with flowers, it didn’t go well obviously. However you said that Isabela was taking Dolores to her room, so what does she know about the incident?

The incident happened after Dolores was taken to her room. She got overwhelmed with the loud sounds and wanted to take a break in her soundproofed room. Isabela just got along to keep her some company. So Dolores doesn't know much either, only that Isabela never returned to the party

Some of worship Isa being unhappy

Warning for child abuse and gaslighting

Isabela wasn't sure about anything anymore. She knew that her name wasn't Maria. That she didn't always like like this. Briefly, she could remember people. Her family. As well as Mirabel's. But her knowledge was hazed, damaged by the years away from them. What she could remember were mostly facts.

Madre kept saying that she was crazy and needed to pray. Isabela knew that she wasn't. She wasn't some evil being or a daughter of Satan. She wasn't crazy.

She hoped that they were real. She really did. It's just that after years in this hell, she had no idea of anything anymore.

Sometimes she wondered if she imagined this all. Maybe the Madrigals were never real. What if Rafaela was just Rafaela, a random girl six years younger than she was and not Mirabel? What if the other girl she remembered as her sister wasn't her sister? Maybe they all were part of her imagination. Maybe everyone was right.

Isabela hated it. Deep inside she knew she was right. But each time when somebody called her 'possessed' she was getting less sure.

And she didn't want to argue with Madre. Because in the best case she would get beaten up for this. Her wrist would bleed from smacks, it was hurt already. Or maybe she could even be locked inside the closet room for bad kids. And she would cry against the door, staying in this small place for days. Hungry, thirsty and exhausted.

It also would mean skipping church. Part of Isabela hated it,but it was the only time when she could see kids from the other houses. Good thing they all had constant places in a palace. Finding Mirabel was easy. Even if Isabela could never get close enough to her to say a single word.

She wondered if Mirabel had any idea of their family, their real family. Of the fact that they were even related. This single thought was enough for Isabela's guts to twitch. But if she ever tried to speak to anyone without being allowed to, she would be crying on her knees, while her body would bleed. And Madre would call her a cursed child again.

Her mama never hit her. Isabela wished to go back to Mama. Feel the warmth of her homemade food. Or laugh over Papa's clumsiness. Maybe play under Tía's rain. Or get into catching up with Luisa.

They were real, right?

I have more questions about the Worship Au, if neither of them pertain to spoilers!

What is a “brinded” family member? And why did this cult target Rafaela specifically?

Also I looked up the name Rafaela, which means “God has healed”. Based on the name of the AU, it seems quite fitting.

I can't say there's really a specific reason.

The cult mainly targets infants to increase the number of members. Babies they are easy to shape into what needed. They can't remember anything before they were kidnapped and therefore treat everything as normal.

Maybe the fact that Mirabel was an easy baby, who could be left alone (Just for a little bit. Agustin and Julieta didn't want something to happen to her. Ironic, right?) so getting her out is easier. Camilo probably would be kidnapped too if he wasn't such a clingy baby.

Bringed family member means a child who wasn't born from any adult members of the "family" (the way cult members call it). There's not really much different between "bringed" and "inborn" members, but for those who were born outside usually being watched way more careful.

Yep, names are chosen for the setting.

Do I need to say that worship Luisa hates her birthday?

As her sisters both went missing at the same day as her gift ceremony, Luisa can't bring herself to celebrate this day. Her birthday associates with the fact that her sisters aren't here. Understandably, she doesn't want to do anything with partying. Going as far that she would refuse to speak to anyone who wished her "happy birthday" for weeks

Another thing from worship

Julieta sighed, putting her forehead in her hand. It'd been days. And still, two of her girls weren't found yet. She was tired, sick from this uncertainty. Where did Mirabel and Isabela go? Why did they just disappear? Kidnapping?

But who would even do such a horrific crime to them? Why would anyone take such little kids away from their parents Julieta wished to go back and time and don't let the girls out of her sight ever again.

She raised her head at the sound of tile's creaking. For a brief moment, she hope that Isa would run in, carrying a busket of flowers.

Instead, it was Luisa, followed by her dad. After the incident with her sisters they refused to leave their only remaining child alone for longer than a bathroom break

Sometimes, Julieta woke up in a cold sweat, desperately checking if at least Luisa was still here. Their two daughters went missing already, they couldy afford losing Luisa too.

"Where will Isa and Mira come back?" The young girl asked, worried, as she took a glass of water.

Julieta's eyes could fill it to the brim the moment Luisa emptied it. "I'm sure you'll see them tomorrow."

Luisa crossed her arms. "You said it yesterday. And the day before yesterday. And before that"

And Julieta was afraid that she would say it tomorrow again. She didn't want to lie to Luisa, but she fact was too hard to get through. They didn't know anything of when (and IF) Isabela and Mirabel would return. She wanted nothing more than to hold three her girls close, apologize for every bad thing she had done to them. For every day when she couldn't play with Isabela, for every tear that Mirabel had shred.

"My gift is not that bad..." Luisa's voice hitched as she moved from foot to foot, staring down.

Agustín kneeled down, ruffling her hair in a gentle movement. "It's not."

They knew that Luisa was struggling as much as they were. She was only five years old and couldn't understand how severe the situation was. But she was sad because her siblings weren't here, even if she didn't understand the situation fully. Julieta wished Luisa would enjoy her life like any other children of her age, like all her girls should had been.

[Worship au, after escape]

Mirabel: I still don't believe in all your 'we're your family thing'. It makes no sense

Julieta: I promise, we are. And when you open your door, your gift will prove it to everyone.

The door: *disappears*

Everyone:

Mirabel: I knew it...

In worship, after the escape, how do all the girls feel about Julieta and Agustin?

Are the two that were taken trying to build up a relation with them or avoiding? And does Luisa feel any guilt or resentment towards her parents?

Pretty different for everyone

Isabela tries to rebuild relationship with her family, she really wants to actually feel home. This comes as pretty hard as she's not used to the nice treatment and tends to be catious. She also finds it hard because no one actually thought about her growing up. In everyone's mind she was still a child. And as much as she wants, she can't be the same person she was at seven. Besides, Isa was closer to her Tía or Abuela even before.

Mirabel completely distrust them. Again, she was taken away before the age where she could remember anything. And them one of the older girls breaks into their house, wraps her in vines and takes her away. Mirabel would definitely try to escape if it wasn't for the fact that the family doesn't let them both to be alone. She doesn't refer to her family as family, using their names/Señore instead. She probably trusts Julieta a bit more as they look really alike. But again, there's a boy who can shapeshift. Who knows if it's actually her real appearance.

Luisa definitely felt both guilt and resentment as a child. Guilt because it happened on her birthday, resentment because their parents didn't look out for her sisters. It got better as years passed. Of course, she's still upset, but she doesn't straight blame anyone for kidnapping. It's more something like "I wish I could protect them." Her relationship with Agustín and Julieta won't change much upon her sister's return.

Worship AU, if someone asked grandkids

How much do you know about Isabela and Mirabel?

Isabela was my best friend, we used to play together all days long. You know, she was really competitive and loved outdoors. She read a lot about plants. I can't say much about Mirabel. She wasn't even a year old, but I think she was calm baby. I hope they both are living a good life, wherever they are

...

(refuses to give an answer)

Um... I know that they were my cousins. One around Dolores' age, the other around mine. And they went missing when I was an infant. That's about it

Two girls next to Luisa on family tree?

Imagine how worship Isabela felt about all the changes in her family that had happened.

Her twin-cousin is a girl, her little sister is seven foot frame, donkeys along her back taller than she is. Camilo is already a teenager and there's a new cousin wandering around.

(Some of) Worship Madrigals family meet Isabela and Mirabel for the first time

Pepa hesitated, seeing two girls. At first she thought that she had hallucinated. The older one visibly reminded Pepa of her mother in her youth. The little one looked like her sister. Just what the heck was going on?

The older girl bit her lip, pulling the other one closer. "Is... Is it Encanto?"

Pepa nodded, feeling the wind growling from her worry. Whoever they were, it wasn't normal. Encanto almost never had visitors.

"Is the Madrigal family here?" She looked unsure, more like telling about a distant memory.

The young mama could get into Pepa's daughters considering her age. And her defence over the other girl was rather sweet. Pepa nodded. "We are, I am Pepa."

The older girl blinked several times, scrolling through some memories. She counted on her fingers, muttering something to herself. "Tía?" She breathed out, looking up into Pepa's eyes.

It took a moment for her to realize. Pepa's world froze. Tía. A girl who looked really simular to her Mama asked about the Madrigal family. A girl who held another child wrapped in vines. Too similar to Julieta. Too close in genes.

"Isabela?" Pepa gasped, feeling the rain pouring down. She couldn't believe it. It had to be a dream. It's been twelve years. "Mirabel?"

Mirabel shifted uncomfortably. Isabela nodded, still shaken.

Pepa expected to wake up any moment now. It had to be a dream. It couldn't happen in reality. Tears ran down her face as she pulled her sobrinas close. She held them, crying in fear. Because she couldn't imagine to lose them ever again. They had lost all hope of finding them both. And now they stood here. Both grew so much. Rain showered all over them. Pepa had no idea why she was crying. But the weather was the least concern now

***

Julieta had noticed rainclouds on the edge if Encanto. What had made Pepa sad? She looked here, worried, keeping her workpace.

It took a while before Pepa rushed to her, holding two girls by the hand. Julieta's heart pinched. The girls looked familiar. Not in a normal sense of physical features. But on a deeper level.

Pepa smiled, rainbow flashed over her head. "Juli, your girls, they are..."

Julieta gasped, tears welled up in her eyes. Isabela? Mirabel? No, no, it must be a dream.

All those years, she prayed for her babies to come home, to be alive. Now, they stood in here. After all this time.

Isabela grew so much, now an adult. The childish innocence was gone. Now a mature woman. And there was Mirabel. Her baby girl who went missing so young that Julieta never had a chance to see her getting out of the infant stage. See her first steps. Help her with her school, see her personality.

***

Luisa was attracted by the noise. Just near Mama's food stand a crowd peeked interested as Julieta and Pepa were crying with two strangers. Luisa bit her lip, pushing herself closer.

"Mama?" She asked unsurely, leaning down.

Julieta waved to the new girls. (Why were they so similar to Abuela and Mama?) "Luisa, your sisters had return."

Luisa stepped back in disbelief. She could swear she hallucinated. Because there was no way... It just couldn't be. Luisa had probably dreamt.

Her hermanas were here in front of her eyes, made out of flesh and bones. Alive, here. Home...

With height over one hundred ninety centimeters and inhuman strength, Luisa could easily scoop them both. One arm got each. Julieta gasped, being pushed away.

Isabela gasped for breathe, struggling against way too tight hug. It was Luisa? What the heck? When did she... She was five! (It was when they were kidnapped so she probably wasn't anymore, but this fact was too hard to accept)

Luisa sobbed, almost throwing her sisters over her shoulders. "I missed you!"

There was no words to explain it. How long she cried, asking for them to come home. She spent years, begging for her sister to be back, claiming that she would give up her gift if only Isa and Mira would return. And she sertanly wasn't going to let them go ever again.

[1945]

Why do I even write? I... I just wish I could protect you. Are you even alive? I'm really sorry. I should've been with you that day. I can't apologize enough. Yes, I wouldn't be much help at the age of 5... But I could do something! It was just when I got my gift.

I miss you. I hope... For what? That you're okay? That you're alive? I don't know anymore. Just... I ('m sorry? miss you? love you?)

I mentioned that Worship Isa and Mira escaped in the end, right? So...

TW: Sensenitive topics, + description of violence

At this moment, Isabela was still half asleep. The leaders practically bursted into her room on the sunrise, forcefully waking her up. Still foggy from the slumber, Isabela blinked at the clothes that they shoved to her. O...kay? It was strange. They practically put this white baggy dress on her. Leading her outside, in front on the fuel of the family's members. All watching Isabela in a sunrise. Maybe that's what what made Isabela finally wake up and scream in horror.

One of the most horrific things that were normal in here, in Isabela's opinion were the human sacrifices once a year. The viem of bloody bodies, screams of innocent women in baggy white dresses... She knew it was somehow common.

"What... What do you want from me?" She snarled, struggling profusely.

"Maria, stop your childish nonsense. It's time for the celebration." They grabbed her wrists. Isabela flinched at pain, pushing them aside.

"I am not going anywhere!" It was no use, it was never use. She saw axe metal flickering in the light, saw people that were watching the spring Festival.

"LET ME GO!" She wasn't a sacrifice! She wasn't supposed to be here. She needed to get out, needed to be safe

Fear boiled inside her veins, blowing under her skin as her breathing grew erratic. Fear was consuming her entire existence. Her mind blasted with only one though.

"I need to protect myself"

Energy spreaded through her body. Safe, safe, she needs to be safe. Magic within her soul was growing higher, splashing outside.

A wave of plants grew all over her. The men that held her screamed in horror as cactuses appeared under them in just seconds. Isabela gasped, seeing the bloody bodies destroyed by the cacti. And they weren't the only one. Her supposed executioner was torn underneat the roots, pushed into the ground from the broken stage. And many people from the crowd were injured too.

Isabela stood here, surrounded by the wild nature. A hurricane of cactuses, Venus flytraps, hanging vines. It... Had she created it?

She didn't want to cry, but wetness just appeared underneat her eyes. She... She almost freaky died. If ut wasn't for her gift...

And, could she do this all the time? She was locked here for years, and had the key all along.

"A-anyone?" Isabela was startled by the voice. Her gaze shifted to see who it was, getting ready to attack against. Rafaela Mirabel was shaking, sick from what was going on.

Her sister was here. And Isabela finally got her chance to leave this hellhole. Abuelo forbids her if she would lose this opportunity.
