He may annoy me but he didn't deserve what happened to him. He just irritates me every time he's on screen when nothing important is happening. Plus a huge majority of the fanbase is sapphic so the male characters aren't gonna be the center of attention in fandom spaces regarding Yellowjackets. But i don't want people to equate people calling him annoying to "he deserved it" bc he didn't, he was high off of his ass so he couldn't consent and it was forced upon him. And he is so mean to Nat and she is ridiculously accepting of it. She only faked Javi's death because she GENUINELY thought he was dead and wanted Travis to move on. It was a miracle he was alive in her eyes because no one knew about the caves. And even before that, there were few times where they were even remotely a healthy couple. In season 1 he only started being a nice brother to impress Nat. And then he was misogynistic, and after that he slut shamed Nat, then he broke up with her over finding out that she's been with other men before him. Why is it ok to hate racist characters but all the sudden misogyny isn't that bad? Also don't EVER say I don't like him because "he gets in the way of mistynat/lottienat" bc idgaf about whats canon when it comes to shipping, i already accepted that lottienat and mistynat aren't canon and i still ship it so why would he get in the way if i already don't care about it? Just needed to rant.

Can any Yellowjackets fan tell me why so many ppl in the fandom hate Travis??? Like idc if you just dislike him or think he's boring or something. I am just seeing people's only reason for hating him be "he said something misogynistic once" or "he was mean to nat a few times". Like jesus christ u guys !??? Nat isn't innocent either ? She kinda deserved him being mean to her some of the time i mean she faked his brother's death and didn't stop the team from killing him. Also everyone seems to be fine with the fact that the girls tried to r*pe Travis? Not to mention the fact that Misty tried to r*pe Coach Ben multiple times?? People love and defend misty despite that..? I do not get it.... Im tired of ppl using one minor instance of misogyny to justify disliking a character while defending an actual sexual predator... Not saying i hate Nat or Misty or any of them, they're not innocent obviously because no one in that show is (except laura lee ily laura lee) but that doesn't make them irredeemable imo. Not trying to start discourse or anything i am just genuinely curious about the fandom's hatred of travis. This being said i have not finished the last episode so my opinion on him could possibly change. 🤷
I don't like Travnat bc i know girls like Nat in real life and i've friends with them. I don't wanna hear you yap my ear off about "ohh he's such an asshole... but I'm taking him back" and it's CONSTANT on and off. Sure it might look interesting on screen for someone who hasn't had friends like Nat, but it triggers a certain part of my brain where I'm thinking "this is almost too accurate for high school and i don't like it". Im here to escape reality not see something that occurs everyday of my waking life, y'know?
Mistynat: They were both outcasts in their own respective ways, one might assume that they were on the opposite spectrums of being an outcast. A majority of the group judged and ridiculed Nat for her lifestyle without knowing the real her. Misty understood Nat and was attracted to this aspect, even 25 years later she still clings to her and respects her like no other because even if Nat pushed her away, she wouldn't leave because she wholeheartedly cares. Misty was there since the beginning, and it all ended with her too. She was the only one who really stuck with Nat in the adult timeline without judging her like the others did. Overall a really interesting and well thought out dynamic.
Lottienat: The whole prophet x non-believer is such a good trope in its own right, but theres more to this ship than just that. They are complete and utter polar opposites, they complete and contrast eachothers storylines. Lottie is rich, Nat is broke, Lottie is hopeful, Nat is cynical, Lottie is accepted by the group as a leader, Nat is outcasted. This obviously causes conflict between the two girls, but 25 years later Lottie STILL cares about Nat no matter how much Nat didn't like her (so far) in the teen timeline. She was only just warming up to her in the last episodes of season 2, and it was pretty damn romantic for Lottie to pass on leadership like she did (that kiss was way longer than it needed to be). And the "friends? Is that what we are?" Could hint at something way deeper. Their relationship is complicated and interesting.
Travnat: they fucked like once in season 2 because Lottie gave him a stiffy.
Watching a season 2 episode of Yellowjackets with someone who hasn't seen season 1 for any context whatsoever is hilarious

She's hallucinating that her dead best friend's body who she hated, but was also kinda lowkey gay for, is talking to her and almost beckoning her to eat her- after all, she is starving because she got knocked up with said best friend's boyfriend right before the plane took off so it's ok for her to get a taste."
Like out of context that is outrageous.
Does anyone else think about the fact that you're not supposed to gorge yourself after starving because it shocks your system? And how the Yellowjackets casually downed Jackie after living on scraps like it was nothing? They all had to get stomachaches after that.
Don't let me watch Yellowjackets when i'm ovulating, because if Nat is on screen for 00.01 zeptoseconds it's EVERYWHERE. That one scene where she arched? BAZINGA! The beach scene? ZAMNNN! When they ate Jackie and she was all dressed up in that robe? ZOO WEE MAMA! She's my constant reminder of my extreme attraction to women, and yet no x reader can satisfy me because you mischaracterize her so bad she's unrecognizable.
