the beauty of fandom is the way everyone has different interpretations of the character, whether it be from their own projections, a need for humor, or a logical conclusion from canon facts. i personally don’t agree with some popular headcanons or “fanon” that everyone has accepted, but that doesn’t mean it’s not a valid interpretation.

the problem really only starts when you start drifting so far away from canon that a character is basically your own OC with the same name and face. even then, these “ocs” have the potential to tell the story from a whole new perspective

“He wouldn’t do that in canon!!!” “He would never say that!!”

like look at the marauders fandom they took literal sentence fragments and created completely new characters that show a whole new (maybe better) version of Harry Potter yeah they fight a lot about headcanons but imo every interpretation is beautifully crafted it’s a lot different from other fandoms that have stable canon bases but if they can make it work why can’t the rest of the internet? dc (which the original post was abt) has canon that changes as often as a cheap pad fanon is what makes the characters stable and loved yk? yk dc comics marauders orv batfam fandom

my favourite power fantasy webtoon that i liked particularly because it didn’t objectify women has introduced the token fanservice character. im scared to check the latest update because i do not like her being on screen

i wont name it but if you know you know yk yk seriously i love the webtoon its just kinda sad the way its been going im not a novel reader so im not sure if it was always meant to be more sexualized but it wasnt really in the beginning and i still prefer the beginning because less people were calling the mc hot (he was 8 webtoonposting
