Drabble 1

The summer had been brutal, and the crisp autumn air was a welcome reprieve. Silently, the Lord of the West traveled east toward Edo. He was heading to collect his ward Rin from the miko Kagome.

Her presence in his life had not been in her best interest this year due to an influx in mindless, wild yokai terrorizing various villages throughout his lands.

It seemed that ... while the fall of Naraku was a necessary victory, the loss of the unknown hold the spider had on lesser yokai was a reprocussion he hadnt forseen.

Sesshomaru had no idea of the sheer magnitude of unintelligent & bloodthirsty yokai packs he had running wild in his lands.

That he had been so preoccupied that it was even an issue was... concerning. But the fact remained that he was caught unaware. And that was unacceptable.

So he had sent Rin away. Instead of doting on the young human girl, he spent the last twelve moon cycles ridding his lands of the vermin Naraku left behind.

Luckily, or unluckily, depending on how you looked at it, the miko Kagome had graciously invited Rin to stay with her while Sesshomaru was away. His ward seemed excited enough to spend the foreseeable future with her best friend, the fox kit Shippo, and her idol the miko.

The only downside was the miko had been courting his useless half-brother Inuyasha, and he worried how exposure to the hanyu would affect his young ward long term.

A lot could change in a year, and as the village came closer, he found himself feeling apprehensive about his unannounced reunion.

But he couldn't put it off because of something as ridiculous as apprehension. So, with the sun peeking over the horizon in full glory behind him, he made the trip down the hill, silencing his thoughts, putting his mind at ease.

Once he arrived, he could spot his ward easily. Rin was sitting outside with a scroll in her hands, reading. 'she couldn't read when this one left her in the mikos care'.

I wrote this YEARS ago. It's not edited or beta'd, so sorry if it's not the best.

It's October 31st in Pettalburg City. Max is hanging out with his newest idol Drew, while May is at home getting ready for Halloween fun.

"Hey ya Drew!" The 10 year old boy called out.

"What's up kiddo?" The 17 year old teen answered.

"I really don't like the idea of may leaving by herself to travel through Unova tomorrow." The blue haired boy said looking down.

"To be honest, I don't like the idea much either. I thought about asking her to travel with me but she won't go for it." Drew answered looking defeated.

"What if she asked you?" A snickering Max asked while pushing up his glasses with his index finger.

"What are you thinking?" An intrigued drew asked.

Meanwhile back at Max & Mays house...

"I still can't believe you stopped by Dawn. It'll be great to spend Halloween together." 16 year old May squealed.

"I know. I figured I'd suprise you." The 16 year old bluenette answered. "So about you traveling alone..."

"Look..." May cut in, "I've made my decision, I want to go to Unova, no one else does, so I'm going alone. Im done changing my plans just do I can travel with everyone else." She finished.

"Well I heard Drew was going to Unova." Dawn suggestively responded.

"Drew?! I didn't know that. It doesn't matter though, he doesn't even like me I doubt he'd want to travel with me." The brunette said sadly.

"Oh well let's just get dressed and go hang out in the woods with our Pokemon." The blue haired girl said.

"Ok!"

Later that night Max is off with Drew "trick-or-treating". May and Dawn have parted ways and May is alone in the woods with her skitty.

"It's getting late huh girl, maybe we should head back." May shakily said as she stood up to leave. Dozens of candy wrappers littered the ground, falling from her lap as she stood.

"What was that?!" She screamed jumping back. Skitty jumped in front of her in battle stance. Slowly two ghostly white figures emerged making moaning and groaning noises.

"G-go away!"

"P-please g-go away!!" She screamed. She curled up into a ball shaking on the verge of tears.

"Ahahahaha!" Max and Drew threw off the white sheets they were wearing, revealing the two laughing boys.

"What the hell? That was so mean! And to think, I was going to ask you to travel with me! You're such an asshole!!"

"Awww I'm sorry May." Max and Drew both said.

"Wait...you want me to travel with you?" Drew questioned with a smug grin on his face.

"Well not now! Gah! I'm better off alone! " She screamed as she ran off into the night.

"Shit!" Drew muttered as he took off running after her leaving max behind. The younger of the Maple kids didn't care, he was laughing evily as he pushed his glasses up with his thumb. Everything was going according to plan.

"May wait up!!! Come on May...MAY!!!!" Running full speed Drew was growing worried as he couldn't find the stubborn brunette. After searching for about 10 minutes he finally caught up with her. She was sitting on a log crying. He walked up to her with a sorrowful expression on his face.

As he got closer he noticed something off about her. There was a purple most surrounding her and her back was towards him. Slowly he placed his hand on her shoulder and spun her to face him. When she looked up he fell on the ground in fright. His beloved brunette was not what he saw...instead he saw a terrifying ghostly face in place of hers. It (May) began to laugh menacingly as it inched it's way towards Drew.

Crawling backwards a frightened Drew began to cry and beg. " P-please d-dont h-h-hurt me! W-what did you d-do to MAY???" Forgetting all his fears he lunged at Mays possessed body in hopes of freeing her from the evil entity.

Tackling her to the ground with a loud thud, May looked completely normal, except she was passed out. A Ghastly was circling overhead, putting two and two together Drew figured out it was this Ghastly that took over Mays body. Yelling at it, the ghost type Pokemon just laughed as it flew away into the night.

Looking back down on May, who was now resting peacefully. "May....May!!! Wake up!!! Please be ok!!! I'm so sorry I should've never frightened you. You should've never been here alone and because of ME you got hurt!!! Wake up May, please...I promise I'll keep you safe from now on." Drew was franticly shaking May, but stopped when he noticed a smile creep across her lips.

"Ahahahaha!!! Got ya!!!" May jumped up suddenly and pulled out a pokeball. "Ghastly return!" She looked at Drew and winked.

"You're not the only one who's good at Halloween pranks. Also...I forgive you for scaring me."

"Well, guess I'm gonna have to get you back," he said with a smirk and signature flip of his emerald bangs, "I guess I'm just gonna have to go with you to Unova until I come up with something." He finished with a wink.

"Hehehe guess so." May said. Drew grabbed her hand, linking their fingers together as he warned her sternly..."don't ever scare me like that again May Maple. I thought you were hurt."

He leaned down and kissed her on the cheek and they walked back to the Maple residence, hand in hand. Hiding in the bushes watching was Mays little brother Max, snickering to himself.

"My plan worked! He's going with her! You can thank me later big sister! Ralts teleport." In a flash he was back home just as May and Drew walked in yelling that they had an announcement.

Oh the adventures to come.

Drabble 2

Sesshomaru watched as his Ward and the young fox kit basked in the attention bestowed on them by the Miko. Blankets were laid out, and dishes from dinner put up as the two children prepared for bed.

He watched as she tucked them in tenderly, a kiss placed on each of their foreheads. With a soft hum and a sad smile, the Miko turned his way.

Idily, he wondered why she smiled when it was so very clear she was anything but happy. Then he wondered why he cared. She was a human. His half-brother's discarded Miko.

Why was she here again?

Oh yes, his ward refused to leave the Miko behind. He didn't understand how allowing the Miko and her kit to follow him, in the midst of what he assumed was a lovers' spat, was a good idea at all.

Why had he allowed it again? His musing came to an abrupt hault as the sad, discarded Miko sat down - rather ungracefully - next to him.

"Sesshomaru-sama, I have a request."

Summary: It isn’t uncommon for Rin to bring a stray home. She connects with animals easier than people. But Kagome soon learns that the dog her younger sister brings home is anything but, prompting her to finally deal with the trauma of their parents' death, and the reason behind it.

Sneak Peek

He was a dog, which, on the surface, was pretty average, but he was so very, very large, with unnatural golden eyes and white, silky fur that shimmered like pearls in the sunlight. And that said nothing of the stripes around his mouth or the moon sitting on his forehead.

With wide eyes and a sigh of annoyance, Kagome realized Rin had brought a daiyoukai into their house. As a pet.

She'd suspected such before with some of Rin's other "babies", but any yoki they had was weak and tentative at best—detecting it felt more like seeing shadows move in her peripheral. The demonic energy emanating from the giant heap of fluff her little sister was currently clinging to, however, threatened to flatten all living beings under their roof.

"Can we call her Fluffy?" Rin begged as Kagome puzzled out where her sister might have found such a powerful creature.

Kagome pressed her lips together, but she couldn't burst her sister's bubble. "The dog is a boy," she finally managed, noting the dog's obvious offence at the name.

Rin tilted her head curiously. "How can you tell?"

"It's my superpower," Kagome said, and she swore the dog looked amused.

He wouldn't be amused when he realized what she was—if he hadn't already. Kagome eyed him warily, debating what was worse: contending with a daiyokai or upsetting Rin.

"He can stay. For now," Kagome hedged, "but we can't keep him forever. Dogs like this usually have homes."

Rin wrapped her arms around the beast's neck, nuzzling his fur. "He doesn't have a collar. We'll just take care of him so well that he won't want to leave!"

"Somehow, I think he'll want to go home, but you can certainly try. Now, let's go inside and feed you some lunch, and you can tell me where you found him."

PROMPT 1:

A few weeks have passed since Sesshomaru & his group joined Kagomes group. No one has figured out why Sesshomaru started following them.as he just showed up one day with Rin & never left & only spoke to Kagome for the most part.

PROMPT 2:

The west is being targeted by someone who keeps abducting children, elderly, women, & men who can't fight. No one has been recovered & rumor is its humans attacking. Sesshoumaru is at a loss of what to do when Rin, Miroku, & Kagome come knocking.

They explain shippo is missing & after hearing the rumors believe the west's humans captured him. They offer aid & Sesshoumaru accepts

PROMPT 3:

500 years have passed & Sesshoumaru is still watching over Rins descendents. Unfortunately his current charge is an unruly kitsune hanyu.

Thankfully his school had hired a new teachers aid who happened to work wonders for him.

Sesshoumaru decides to thank this new aid for her hard work.

PROMPT 4:

Kagome & Shippo are being chased by Lord Satoru, a gray Kitsune from the central lands. He is trying to force kagome to give him Shippo because 'humans shouldn't be raising yokai & as a miko she's broadly hurting him regularly'.

He chases them across the border of the western lands where they run into Sesshoumaru. After assessing the situation he tells lord Satoru that kagome is his ally & he claims the kit as pack. Continued attack on them will be seen as a personal attack on Sesshoumaru.

When the kirsune leaves, Sesshoumaru takes her & shippo to his shiro
