Riddle, Leona, Azul and Leona reacts to being their s/o's favourite

Riddle

Riddle is caught off guard both by your actions and your words. It was just a mindless question and he didn't expect it to become a confession for you. 

He tries to compose himself, but the blush on his face refuses to fade and he can't help the slight stuttering as he speaks. You would think that he would've seen it coming since you have dated him for some time now, but he's never ready for sudden bursts of affection. It doesn't mean that he doesn't enjoy it though, but he'll never admit it.

"This is not a joke, I was being serious! Although you are my favourite too…"

Leona

I can imagine him either smirking at your words or grunting about how it's too early for cheesy confessions. If it's the former, he'll drag you back down towards him for another kiss, just deep enough for you to be flustered, If it's the latter, he's just going to flop to the other side and continue his nap. Depending on his mood this man can have very different reactions.

Even if he doesn't respond enthusiastically, he still liked your witty response. Sometimes he may prefer you to be a bit gullible and innocent, but he never hates it when you act confidently.

Another thing he will never admit to is how happy he feels hearing that from you. For once he's someone's favourite instead of just a runner-up, so it kinda boosts his ego.

Azul

Azul can’t handle flirting very well so he finds himself embarrassed at your unexpected answer. He tries to mask it by coming up with an equivalently flirty comeback, or maybe pull you in for another kiss, but it is apparent that he's taken by surprise.

It does warm his heart knowing that you see him as someone so important, so he wants to return the flavour as well. Maybe he'll invite you on an impromptu date or get you a bunch of flowers afterwards. He feels that it's important that you know how much he cares for you too.

After this he may try to take revenge, waiting for the opportunity to strike so that he can startle you with sweet words too. It's easy for things to become competitive for him, but it won't be too serious.

Malleus

His eyes widen for a second before breaking into chuckles. He isn't being mean, he just didn't really expect you to make such a statement. Surprised he may be, he takes it naturally as he replies, "Well, child of man, you're my favourite too,"

This interaction prompts him to do the same. He starts slipping a few loving words during the day, no matter the occasion or whether there is anyone around. Malleus doesn't have that many friends and has probably never had a lover before, so he likes to try new things that can entertain the both of you and also strengthen your relationship.

Do remind him if he takes things too far. He is quite inexperienced afterall, and even if it may become too much sometimes, it all comes from a place of love.

In which Riddle has a hard time accepting the fact that his crush (Y/n) is much taller than him — especially because of Ace's relentless teasing.

Can he get over this pet-peeve and confess his feelings to (Y/n)?

"Aw, imagine if Riddle and (Y/n) married!"

Ace had a giant grin on his lips, aimed to irritate the already furious Riddle even more. Deuce, who stood next to him, was glancing back and forth between Ace and Riddle, hoping that this wouldn't lead to a full-blown catastrophe that he would have to solve later.

Riddle crossed his arms, and his cheeks were a dark red. "Trappola," he pressed out through clenched teeth while doing his best to not appear too flustered by Ace's words.

A mischievous glint appeared in Ace's eyes. "(Y/n) would be the one to carry you bridal style, no?" he asked before immediately breaking out into wild cackling that left Riddle and Deuce speechless, the latter especially questioning if Ace wanted to die today.

"Shut up, you idiot!" Riddle growled, although his voice pitifully broke at the end.

"Ace," Deuce reprimanded as he stepped between them before Riddle could throw himself at Ace and tear out his throat in one sweep. A sigh escaped the blue-haired boy's lips while sweat trickled down his forehead from all the stress. "You should stop before the dorm-head explodes."

Ace shot his friend an innocent look, about to open his mouth again before he was interrupted by a new presence appearing beside them, having arrived unnoticed due to the three students being too busy with bickering. You tilted your titled to the side and crossed your arms, asking, "Stop with what?"

Riddle immediately stopped screaming when his eyes fell on you, and he froze in his movement. Slowly closing his mouth, he averted his gaze to the floor and began traipsing around. "(Y/n)!" he cried out, his voice an octave higher as he still avoided your gaze. Then, before you could ask if he was alright, he snapped around and hastily rushed off. "I—I should go..."

Awkward silence followed afterwards, especially from your side — confusion was all that occupied your mind. Just as you were about to open your mouth to ask what had happened here, Deuce beat you to it by loudly hissing, "Nope. Nope. This won't do."

"Deuce?" You shot him a worried frown, one that he only responded to with an exasperated groan. Meanwhile, Ace was laughing loudly that you thought he had gone mad. Slapping the red-head's shoulder to get him to shut up, you returned your attention to Deuce again to ask, "What's up?"

"(Y/n), help me..." Deuce whispered while burying his face in his palms, letting out a series of exasperated whines. "I can't stand by and try to stop Riddle from killing Ace any longer."

Ace rolled his eyes and let out a little scoff. "I'm not that bad."

"As I said," Deuce drawled while glaring at Ace with scorn and fury in his blue eyes. Although he continued to speak to you, his unwavering glare never left Ace's. "Our dormleader is even stricter whenever he's in a bad mood — and lately, he's always been in a bad mood."

You sighed, scratching the back of your neck. "I wonder what's up with Riddle..."

A few days later, you were on your way to Heartslabyul to find your two idiot friends that had been babysitting your other idiot friend for the day. As you entered the front plaza of the dorm property, you were met with the dorm leader himself seemingly waiting for someone in front of the entrance.

You tilted your head to the side at the sight of Riddle, who had been avoiding you for the last days. Not intending to waste any of his time, you shot him a curt nod before walking past him; yet, his hand shot out and curled around your wrist, catching you off-guard. "(Y/n)," he said, his voice and expression unreadable as you turned around to face him. "I need to talk to you."

Surprised, your eyebrows quirked up. "Oh? Hello, Riddle!" you chirped, happy that he finally had decided to stop avoiding you. Turning around fully to face him properly, you shot him a bright smile. "What do you need?"

"Uhm— so I think my shoelaces are undone..." Riddle slowly removed his hand from your wrist to let his arm hang limply by his side again. His eyes never really met yours, always trained at the floor as if he was afraid of facing you truly. You quirked an eyebrow since you were a little bit taken aback by what he was implying. "And Ace causes me back problems... so would you be so nice and tie my shoelaces for me, please?"

Suspicious for real now, you tilted your head to the side and pursed your lips, which left him quite scared that you would laugh about him like Ace always did. He began trembling, but his expression never changed from that steely unreadable frown. "How does Ace cause you back problems—"

"Just do as I said!" he barked, and you winced.

Exhaling in defeat, you got onto your knees to grab the laces of his shoes that he wore instead of his boots for PE. "Okay... fine." Picking up the shoelaces of his left shoe, you quickly tied a knot before adding a neat bow on top. Your fingers moved quickly, and you soon were finished with the other shoe, too.

Just as you were about to get up, Riddle put a hand on your head to keep you on your knees. "No. Just stay there," he exclaimed, suddenly feeling much more confident. A grin spread on his face as you peered up at him curiously, wondering why you couldn't get back up again. The high of the moment gave him enough determination to do what he had planned all along. "Alright, I'm ready to do it."

"Do what?" you asked while furrowing your eyebrows. "And why do I have to keep kneeling like this?"

Riddle finally no longer had to think about the fact that you were taller than him — even if it was just for the moment. Taking a deep breath, he quickly blurted out, "I really like you. I really really like you." His cheeks grew redder the more he spoke, and you quickly caught on to what he was doing. Laughter spilt from your lips at the silly situation you had gotten yourself into, but Riddle remained serious as ever. His fists were shaking by the time he finished with his confession with a simple question. "So would you do me the honour of being my girlfriend?"

Amused, you merely retorted, "Can I... stand up again?"

Riddle grew irritated by your reply that didn't do anything in answering his question. His heart still wildly beating in his chest, he croaked out, "Only once you've told me your answer."

You nodded, grinning from ear to ear. "Of course! I'd love to be your girlfriend, Riddle!" you chimed, which left Riddle yapping for air in utter relief. He removed his hand from your head and allowed you to rise to your feet again, which you wasted no time in doing so. Giggling at his bashful expression, it was now your turn to extend your hand and pat his head. "You're really precious and cute—"

"I'm not cute!" he protested immediately.

"Fine, then you're handsome." Your smile softened, and so did his frown. You pulled back your hand, cooing, "Is that better?"

"M-Much better," Riddle replied shyly, his voice quiet and meek. So, it was surprising when he let out a loud shriek upon you wrapping your arms around him and raising him up into the air, all the while hugging him close to you. The dorm leader immediately began thrashing around in your arms, furious screams escaping his throat. He would have collared you if it weren't for you restraining him with your hug. "Hey! Let me down this instant!"

"No~" you cooed, laughing. "And there's nothing you can do about it!"

-> You were squirming a lot which caused him to wake up, he was about to scold you that he needs sleep to power through tomorrow morning but he quickly changed his thought as he saw you having a face of discomfort.

-> He shakes your limp body awake, "My precious rose, are you arlight? Do you need water?," he asked you worringly. He sighed and stood up to get some tea and small snacks just in case you're hungry, he places those on his table and invites you to join him.

-> Riddle would ask about what your dream was about that made you feel so.. unsafe; if you choose to not talk about it then he'll gladly change the subject to prevent you from being more unsettled from the nightmare.

-> Before you two go to bed, he'd make sure to tell you that he'll do his best to keep you safe from having bad dreams again. If you're fine on going back to sleep then he'll gladly escort back to bed, he lays a kiss on your forehead for comfort.

-> Leona was sleeping peacefully as he hugs you from behind but your excessive movements was slowly waking him from his slumber. He was going to complain about it until you looked like something was bothering you in your sleep.

-> He gave you strong nudges to wake you up from your dream since it looked like you weren't enjoying it at all. When you wake up, he'd wipe any tears he finds if you did cry in your sleep, "Herbivore, do you need anything?," he asked.

-> If you don't respond then he won't ask you anything until you talk but he will however hug you from behind as he tries to whisper sweet and comforting things in your ears; he won't let go until you say so.

-> He'll ask again if you need something and if you're ready to go back to sleep since he's sleepy— no offense, herbivore, you know he's not tired of you, he's just your sleepy lion. He'd hug you very close to him as he buries his face on the nape of your neck.

-> As he was sleeping, he felt light pushes on his body which slowly woke him up and wonder if his angelfish is needing something from him. He realised you weren't awake, you were having a bad dream so of course, he shakes you to wake up.

-> "Do you need anything, angelfish?," he asked since you looked like you'd seen a ghost, he wipes any tears he sees on your face. He told you to wait from him for a moment since he was planning to fetch a relaxing drink for you in the lounge's kitchen.

-> Eventually, Azul invites you to come out and have a drink with him to calm your nerves, he holds your hand as he escorts you to your seat. If you're comfortable with it, he'd like to discuss about your dream that made you feel afraid.

-> When he finally got yourself to calm down and relax your mind, he'll ask if you want to go to bed, if you say yes then he'll escort you back to his room but if not then he'll be fine talking to you for a few minutes more.

-> Kalim is probably the type to move a lot when sleeping so it'll take him awhile for him to notice that you're actually having a nightmare and not because you move a lot too when sleeping. He'll grab both of your arms and shake you awake since he panicked.

-> He'd ask you several questions like "Do you need water?", "Do you want food? I'll wake Jamil to get you some!", "Wanna go out for fresh air??," as long as you say what you need like peace and quiet or a walk out then he'll shut up and immediately do what you say.

.

-> If you kept quiet about his questions then he'll say he would take you on a carpet ride so that the wind on your face distracts you from the nightmare you just had. When things are finally calm up there, he'll ask if you wanna talk about it, if you're okay with it though.

-> After all the things you both did together, he'll ask if you wanna go back to bed since he grew a little tired from all that, if not then round two on the carpet again, sunshine?

-> Vil was about to throw a pillow at your face simply because you kept squirming around the bed and can't seem to stop; he was about to scold you for ruining his beauty sleep until he saw your reactions, it seems like his darling is having a nightmare. He nudges you awake so you don't have to feel like that for much longer.

-> "Are you alright, my darling?," he asked as he wipes any tears your dream has caused, he'd bring you to his arms and hug you for awhile as he comforts you the best he can. His hands would slightly ruffle your hair— like he was giving you a scalp massage. He would also like to know if you want anything like a drink or snack and he will get it for you.

-> If it's fine with you, he wants to know about your dream earlier so you can atleast get it off your chest. If you'r not fine with it then he'll tell you about the things he saw in the beauty industry to make you laugh so he can lighten the mood.

-> He'll ask again if you want to go to bed already since he needs to have perfect skin at all times, you know how important that is when you're famous. If not then he'll give you some tea that makes you feel sleepier, he'll whisper comforting words to you as you fall asleep in his arms.

-> He felt a lot of squirming on his side thinking you want to separate from the cuddle he was giving you until he saw how uncomfortable you looked like. At first he thought he was doing something wrong but you were murmuring things about how you want them to stop and other things related to that.

-> After several tries of Idia gently nudging you awake, you woke up finally, "Do you need anything? Do you want candy?," he stuttered out. If you don't want anything then he'll awkwardly hug you from behind and leave light kisses on your neck as his cheeks and hair slowly turn red though the increasing warmth in his hair was comforting.

-> He'd hesitantly ask if you wanna talk about it or no since he could always put on a video on his phone for you to watch so it'll distract you from your bad dream.

-> If he grows sleepy— he plays a lot of games and stare a lot at screens so— he'll ask if you're tired enough to go back to sleep and if not then he'll play lofi songs for you to fall asleep to.

-> As he was hugging you close to him, he felt you squirming a lot in your sleep, he thinks you want him to lighten his grip on you until he realises your were having a bad dream. He does his best to wake you up gently as he verbally says "My dearest, please do wake up now."

-> When your eyes start to open and your vision becomes clear, he would wipe any tears streaming down on your face and ask if you need anything or want something. He asks if you want to stroll tonight, drink tea, eat icecream, anything you want as long as it takes your mind off the nightmare.

-> Though he does wonder if it's alright with you to share your dream with him so he could further understand why are you in such a state of fright, no pressure.

-> He'd place his hand on your head and ask if you want to go to bed since humans do need the proper amount of sleep and he does want the best for you; if not then he'll let you do whatever as you please until you finally tire yourself out.

Had a long day today and reading this made me feel so much better. Keep writing these great headcannons @fairestwriting

If requests are still open, could I please have some headcanons with Riddle, Jack, Azul, Jamil and Rook where their S/O is tired, sad and burnt out after a long and stressful day (or couple of days) and asks for cuddles to help them feel better?

Riddle Rosehearts

Is shy with physical affection, but he won’t deny you at all. Lays or sits with you somewhere comfortable, tentatively putting his arms around you.

He starts off a little stiff and quiet because he’s worried, hearing that from you, but his tension goes down soon enough. Asks you carefully about what’s wrong, if you needed to talk or if you wanted for him to get you some tea or something like that.

Will listen to any ranting that you want to do, or just hold you in silence, nuzzling his face into your shoulder as he laces his fingers with yours. He really does hope that this makes you feel better.

Doesn’t let you get up too soon, you really do seem so tired and he wants you to rest. Will try to keep you there for enough time for a nap, at least, or just some time for you to clear your mind.

Jack Howl

Jack is such an attentive boyfriend, he’s on it the second you ask him for some love.

If you’re not at a very private or comfortable space, he’ll urge you to go back to your room or his so you could get some better rest, then lay on your bed next to you, putting his arms around you or holding you to his chest, whatever he thinks would make you feel safer at the time.

He asks you pretty quickly about what the issue was, and if he could do anything to help, assuring quietly that he’d do it for you, whatever it was. If you don’t want to talk about it, he won’t mind being in silence either.

Also the type who plays with your hair if you let him, it soothes him when you touch his so he hopes it feels nice and calming for you too.

Azul Ashengrotto

Unused to affection so he hesitates a bit, he’ll clear his schedule of whatever he had to do later, though, and attend to your wishes.

Azul is a big worrier, even before he gets close to you he’ll ask you what’s wrong, if you wanted him to do anything for you. Promises that if anyone’s giving you hell, he’ll give it back to them. If you don’t want to talk, though, he’ll drop it without a second thought.

He’s a little cool to the touch so if you’re the type who gets cold easily he’ll pull a blanket over the two of you to warm you up while he holds your hands -- That’s the only part of his that feels warmer, oddly enough, even without his gloves.

Good if you want a distraction from your daily life stress, since he has a lot of anecdotes about all the different people he meets through the week. He’ll tell all of them to you if you want.

Jamil Viper

Also a bit hesitant because of how reserved he is, but he complies. Like Jack, he’ll insist on taking you to either of your room’s if you aren’t there already.

The way he holds you is very tentative, he’ll be treading carefully for a while because he doesn’t want to risk overwhelming you when you’re upset. He gets warmer slowly, first his arms are around you, a couple minutes later he laces his fingers with yours, then maybe he nuzzles his face onto your back a bit.

Mostly quiet. He’s worried, but you haven’t started any rantings yet, so he’ll just assume you want peace, not asking much besides a standard “What’s wrong?”

A very good listener if you need to vent. He just adjusts everything to your pace, responding only when you seem to want a response, paying attention to what you say or look like you need. It’s the best way of improving your mood, in his mind.

Rook Hunt

Is open for cuddles whenever and wherever, as soon as you ask for them he gives you a big hug, though that might be toned down depending on how upset you look.

Rook... has a lot of energy, always, so comfort may not be the department he’s the best at, but his wish to see you feeling better really shows through how he cuddles you. He takes you into his arms so openly, holding you close like he wants to protect you from the whole world, and even though he might start chattering about whatever, you can feel your worries melt away while you cling to him.

Depending on how your mood is, he might do some silly things to try and get you to smile, like talk about things he’s seen when he was out hunting, rivers and flowers and sceneries he thinks are almost as gorgeous as you. You probably don’t hear much, he feels really warm and you’re likely to just doze off as he holds you.

Riddle Rosehearts

As you wave the pocky stick in front of him, Riddle watches it with confused eyes... he’s never heard about such a game before, so you’ll have to explain it to him.

Once you do, he thinks that it might not be so bad to indulge you, since you looked so excited, but... ah, as it turns out, this is rather embarrassing. He blushes bright red as you two take slow bites off the ends of the biscuit--

...and he pulls away too soon to win, calling for a time out as you laugh, eating the rest of the biscuit and announcing your victory. You can still kiss him after you’re done eating, his reaction will be cute.

Leona Kingscholar

He’s on board immediately, the bastard he is. He’s very excited to push you until you’re all flustered too. You’re basically just enabling this man by inviting him to play.

Grins and leans down slowly, sort of theatrical as you place the biscuit between your lips and wait, chuckling before he takes the first bite. He’s just so smug about it...

Leona keeps taking bites until you pull away, looking into your eyes rather intensely. You can try to do the same to him, but he doesn’t pull away no matter what. You’ll either end up in quite the competition, or just being endlessly flustered by his teasing antics. Or maybe you just kiss and forget about the game on the first place which is more likely

Azul Ashengrotto

Oh, the pocky game? Azul looks up from the papers he’d been reading. Sure, he says, that seems rather fun, and he gives you that polished smile of his.

So, as it turns out, he’s very much overestimated his own ability to keep his own cool. It’s not like you hadn’t kissed before, obviously, just... with you leaning in closer and closer upon every bite, it just feels odd. Azul blushes and tries to keep up, but... his concentration fails him.

Whether it’s you or him that wins depends on luck, really. He’ll be taking very asymmetrical bites, starting off normal but then faltering as he gets more flustered, so maybe he’ll take the last one and laugh nervously over his victory, or you will take the last one and be able to rub it on his blushy face.

Kalim Al-Asim

It’s not unlikely that he was the first one to suggest it. When Kalim sees things like these, he can’t help but want to try them out! All those romantic tropes just make him feel so warm and fuzzy inside.

He’ll have fun with it, plus he finds out pocky is pretty tasty too... Kalim takes pretty big bites, happy both because of the sugar and because of you, and he’s wholeheartedly planning to kiss you on the end.

He’s not shy at all, so unless you pull away, you end up getting a chocolate flavored kiss from him, and so many giggles after you two part... he really had so much, he wants to try again!

Vil Schoenheit

Eh, he’s heard about the game, but it just seems so silly to him. It’s just a biscuit, and a stupid excuse to kiss your significant other. Don’t you two do that already? He finds it rather pointless, but if it’s going to be quick, then... sure, he’ll indulge you.

Vil starts out a bit uninterested. He just doesn’t see the appeal much, taking small bites from his end of the stick. Even the taste isn’t anything to write home about -- But, your reactions light up something in him. Whether you’re being shy or confident, that sparks his interest.

It’s obvious that he pulls away first, he couldn’t have possibly handled just doing all of that, and then, at the end...! You remind Idia that you have in fact kissed before, but he just yells at you that it’s not the same thing! as he covers his face that’s taken a strawberry-red color.

Yeah, he has no idea what that is. And he’s confused even when you explain to him the mechanics of the game, wanting to know exactly what the purpose is... not that he doesn’t want to play, he just doesn’t understand it well. Haven’t you two kissed before already?

But of course, he’s not one to deny affection, so once he’s on the same page as you, he’s very willing to play. Malleus takes pretty normal-sized bites, the fact that you’re about to kiss doesn’t really affect him that much, though you could say he’s amused at your enthusiasm.

He keeps biting until the end, so you two will either kiss, or you’ll pull away and leave your dragon boyfriend very, very confused. Wasn’t the goal of the game to end with a kiss? Does that mean you’ve lost?
