Sweet, Savory, or Spicy?

I have a huge sweet tooth, so there’s your answer. I love Italian desserts, especially stracciatella gelato and cannolis, though I can also be swayed by Japanese sweets. I will never say no to yukimi daifuku ^_^

Starry sky. I decided that I wanted the Underworld to look like an eternal summer night, in Night Of The Blue Moon. The tranquility of an endless summer night, where the departed rest with their loved ones is juxtaposed with the fact that it’s the scene of Blue Moon and Red Sun’s final showdown against Orpheus.

Favourite Colour

It changes frequently but is usually within the range of blue and purple hues (sometimes it's an orange or yellow, and I do really adore certain greens).

Currently Watching

Ahh, this is perpetually changing but here's the shows I'm currently on: Supernatural, The Boys, Demon Slayer, My Hero Academia, One Piece, Doctor Who... and I've been rewatching House a bit, plus just finished Dungeon Meshi!

Sweet, Savoury, or Spicy?

Again this changes a bit, depends what I'm craving. Often I'll have a savoury craving, or want to mix salty and sweet (I adore salted caramel tim tams). I can't really do spicy much, but I do have a chipotle mayo I cannot resist adding to bacon sandwiches (it tastes so good especially if it's a blt).

Current Obsession

Dungeon Meshi, I got a glass cup recently when I went to Kaiga Convention with the characters on it and it brings me so much joy. The seller was Ratpowers if you wanted to know, his art is great so I definitely recommend checking him out!

Last thing I Googled

For a story? I think eye surgery, specifically taking out an eyeball... no wait it was bird eyes. In general? I just googled if tim tams was one word or two for this post.

Favourite Season

I desperately want to say Autumn but let's be real outside the aesthetic and colour palette I'm actually a Summer girl. Although, coming from the tropics of Darwin (Northern Territory, Australia) I grew up with the seasons simply being Wet Season or Dry Season and in that respect I love me the Wet Season!

A skill I'd like to learn

Ballroom dancing, more specifically I want to learn how to do a simple waltz. My partner has agreed when we're engaged and planning our wedding (hopefully in the not too distant future) that he'll go with me to lessons!

Best Advice

As hard as it is, try to look on the bright side. Seek out that silver lining, and really grab onto the good things in your life. It's a struggle but it'll help. Sometimes I struggle with this myself but trying is half the battle and I believe in you!

Review: Peter Hart by Goldencomet69

I haven’t done one of these in a while, but I’m reviewing another book by one of my moots, and this time, I’m reviewing Peter Hart by @the-golden-comet! I’m a sucker for historical romances, and back in the day, I was a HUGE Pirates Of The Caribbean fan, so I couldn’t turn this one away. To give a brief synopsis, Peter Hart is the captain of The Golden Phoenix, a position he inherited from his late father, Captain Johnathan Hart at just sixteen years old. Ten years on, The Golden Phoenix crew are, like many other pirate crews, of their era, sailing the high seas in search of riches, but when they kidnap Prince Benjamin of Port Mayor at a ball, they find a lot more than they bargained for.

The highlight of the book for me was by far the focus on the bonds between the crewmen of The Golden Phoenix. The book had a big cast, but all of the characters had unique personalities which shined through, and no one felt unnecessary or out of place. I especially liked Benji, and I always found myself either laughing at him or pitying him in his attempts to survive at sea among his captors. He was such a cutie pie and I wanted nothing but the best for him ^o^

I’m using one of my favorite vignettes from The Tengu And The Angel. For those of you who haven’t read it, all of the chapters end with a little fantasy vignette recapping the chapter’s events through Kunio’s imagination:

The angel and the tengu fought one last battle against the kitsune, but he was no match for their combined might, and perished at their hands. Even so, he wouldn’t go down without a fight, and he badly wounded the angel, who sought comfort in the arms of the tengu. The tengu tended the angel’s wounds as best he could, and he hoped that, for the angel’s sake, the wounds would heal soon. 

As the angel slept, the foolish tengu dreamt of what it would be like if the angel ever made his feelings known for him. His proud heart would not allow him to admit it, but he wanted to become the angel’s lover more than anything else, and his love for the angel was steadily consuming his heart, and his damned soul.

Slowly, Noah looked out to the ocean. Sapphire hues mixed with aqua and turquoise, to meld with the midnight blue and fade into stars that speckled the night. A sliver of sun still beamed over the horizon, its gentle light licking the steady waves. The sounds of the sea washing over itself, and the rocks, permeated the salty air.
