Good day, sir.

I had a question in regards to writing that I was hoping you might be able to help me with, and put my mind at ease.

How do you, specifically, handle the balance between plotting/worldbuilding and actually writing the story?

I find myself in this uncomfortable space between both, doing the former for a period of time before getting a smidgen of writing done. I have this urge to have the entire stage set before the story can be told; but then I feel the story slips away, or it isn't being paid enough attention. It's a confusing, frustrating predicament.

As one of my favorite authors and biggest inspirations, I was hoping you might have some insight. But, if not, I hope you have a wonderful day regardless.
