Book review ! Book Lovers by Emily Henry
“Nora.” He just barely smiles. “You’re in books. Of course you don’t have a life. None of us do. There’s always something too good to read.” ― Emily Henry, Book Lovers
Rating 5.0 / 5.0 stars
If you're looking for a romance book that feels like it's really for young adults and not written for a 14-year-old girls dreaming with a unrealistic romance, this is the book for you.

The protagonist of a woman obsessed with her work which she loves, with a complex step that led her to develop an excessive sense of responsibility for things beyond her control and a low self-esteem that makes her have little self-care with her mental health, she is a woman with her priorities very clear, she lives for what she does, her career motivates her and makes her happy, She loves books and lives surrounded by them, she doesn't want children and doesn't dream of a small and quiet life, she loves New York City and its thousands of people, she is a complex character but very easy to empathize with, her previous relationships ended for several reasons but the most important one is that none of her ex-partners wanted the same as her.
“So if you’re the ‘wrong kind of woman,’ then I’m the wrong kind of man.” - Emily Henry, Book Lovers (im gonna go insane)
We can learn a lot from her character, the process of understanding how the way she dealt with this excessive responsibility for the guilt she hadn't healed and that when she met someone who really had life plans, personalities and desires similar to hers I could connect with him without changing who he was, without making spoilers I think their relationship feels so real and beautiful that it's a little painful to cry the last 40 pages like a baby.
I loved that you both loved the books, you don't know how much I loved it.
A super enjoyable easy read with an ormance that makes you laugh and cry in less than 400 pages, I really can't stop thinking about this book.
The message of these books for me were:
You don't have to feel bad or unlovable for having life plans other than getting married, having kids and a small, calm life. Loving big cities, being crazy about your career or not wanting to have kids makes you just as capable of receiving a love
It is a great quality to put your family first but if you don't take care of yourself and pursue your happiness you will not be able to.
When something works with someone you don't have to change or sacrifice any part of yourself, God just makes it happen.

— how i plan my studying (requested by @stqrgirl3)
hope this helps whoever reads it, i tried to be as clear as possible. if you have any questions, my ask box is open. :)
also sorry it is sooooo long ahah.
↳ subject importance
you have to know which subject and which topic to spend more time on. this might be the most important part of it all. here's some tips to decide how to list them from the most to the least important:
⇢ which one affects your overall grades the most?
i think if one subject affects your grades more than the others, it directly becomes the no. 1 on your importance list. this particular subject might be affecting your end of the semester grade, or maybe if you score more on that subjects test you are more likely to enter a university.
for me, this subject is math. if i get half of the math questions right, it affects my placement more than if i got all of the philosophy questions right.
so once you find this subject, you might want to study that everyday or maybe once in two days.
⇢ in which subject are you behind?
i will explain this through my own example.
for my uni exams, physics2 is more important than chem2 but since i am worse in chem than physics, i focus on that more. i do not like chemistry even though i can learn it pretty easily but since i don't like it i tend to fall behind.
that is why even though in the first point i said that math is the most important subject to me, i focus on chem as much as i do on math.
⇢ in which subject are you the most comfortable/confident?
we all have our favorite subjects. in biology, i have the most fun studying and learn quicker since i love it. but i also tend to go out of my way and give it long hours especially if the topic is human anatomy. (shocking lol.)
so unlike the other subheads, in this one i will tell you to restrict your hours. if you give yourself no limit, you'll spend all day "studying" that one subject and completely forget about others. but if you give yourself only 2 hours, not only will you finish your task but you'll also feel rested since it's comforting for you.
⇢ conclusion
let me share my own list (on my advanced lessons) so i can explain better.
math = chem > physics > biology
so i study math2 about 5 to 6 days a week, chem everyday in shorter sessions, physics 4-5 times a week and biology 3-4 times a week.
↳ daily responsibilities.
some subjects need to be looked at every day for different reasons. we have paragraph questions and if you don't practice it everyday, all students know you can't do enough on them in the exam because it needs repetition. i should practice geometry everyday after finishing all topics because that subject is all about remembering and being familiar with it.
so what i do is to cross them off my list first thing in the morning. i always start with paragraph tests and after that i move on to geometry. not only do i cross them off my list but they also help me get my brain ready for the rest of the day.
↳ focusing sessions/breaks.
it's important to know your focus flow. yes, it sounds nice to study 13 hours a day but can you handle it? will it be effective? is that your learning style? you should know your own limits and no one else can set them for you. it is also in your hands to improve them if you want to.
you can find your limits by watching yourself. i used to think i excelled when i studied for hours in one sitting but i found out that was bullshit when i really started listening to my body haha. when you're careful, it's important not to see the signs. my brain literally shuts off when i'm around my 50th minute of my session. this might vary depending on the subject you're studying. if it's math, it can go down to 40.
so be aware of yourself. find out when you start to doze off, when it gets hard for you to solve practice questions or when you start drooling lol. after that you can set your timer and it'll work wonders.
taking breaks is as important as studying. if you don't rest enough, accept it or not but your brain will learn nothing. i am not saying study for 40 minutes then scroll on your phone for an hour or two. don't even scroll on social media on your breaks, it will mess up your focus. but if you've been studying for an hour, take 20 to 30 minutes off. go stretch your body, talk to your friends/family, play with your pet, drink water. do literally anything else than scrolling on shorts/reels and watching people's stories. it numbs my brain so much i don't even use tiktok or instagram.
talking about breaks, know when to eat. especially when studying, our brains burn off so much energy it is crucial to get the proper nutrition. me for example, i have a strong breakfast, study for 4 hours and then have my lunch break which is 45 minutes. and believe me, you will see the difference. if you are hungry you won't understand a word of that subject. if you're having a hard time on learning something which you're usually good at, you are not stupid. you are just freaking hungry. or maybe dehydrated.
↳ make up day. <3
let's be honest. you make to-do lists everyday just to have at least three things not achieved.
don't cry about it. that's human. you are energized in the morning, thinking you can do it all and when you're close to the end of the day you're tired af.
that is why we will have *drum roll* MAKE UP DAYS!!! *cheer*
it is a beautiful day when you get all your work done which you couldn't finish within the week, the ones that got postponed because of the unfinished ones from days ago. and after that, you get to have a lazy day too if you're lucky enough. cherish it. i'll be having lazy afternoons on sundays only. T T
↳ importance of repetition.
we all know our job is not done once we study the material once. *sobs* wish it was.
once you learn the material, you will repeat it with practice questions!! yay!! don't worry, that's how it will get easier and easier for you to do.
for example, let's say on week2 you finished topic3 on chem and learnt it fully. it is not farewell. on week3, on a day you don't study chem at all, you will practice last weeks topic! and you will become besties for life.
so on each week, since you will have more topics to look back at, if you solved 20 questions on week3 for repetition, you will be solving only 5 on week5. you have to solve at least 5 or read your notes for 10 minutes.
so it will look like this:
week2: chem topic3 done
week3: chem topic4 done, chem topic3 repeated with 20 questions
week4: chem topic5 done, chem topic3 repeated with 15q, topic4 repeated with 20q
week5: chem topic6 done, topic3 repeated with 5q, topic4 repeated with 15q, topic5 repeated with 20q
week6: chem topic7 done, topic3 repeated with 5q, topic4 repeated with 5q, topic5 repeated with 15q, topic6 repeated with 20q
and it goes on like that. remember, we won't be repeating the topics on the same day that we learn a new one!!!
we should put 1 book hotter each time we finish a book.
i love so much reading, my happiest memory is reading a book by my favorite author in the middle of one of my worst depressions and laughing and crying from pure happiness after months of just sadness , truly nothing in this life touches me like books.
outgrow home - the podcast!
ʚ - introduction
A little bit of this personal project of mine, I will use it to talk about my life, culture and growing up. I use it as a personal diary, in 20 years or in 5 I want to know what I thought and what I believed, what was going on in the world, etc.
ʚ - this podcast is about my life, outgrow home is a love letter to grow and change.
I've been wanting to do something like this for years and finally I feel it's time, I decided that for now and while I buy a better cell phone it will be just a podcast and some tiktoks, probably next month I will upload videos to youtube on topics related to the subject.
I will also talk about studying as a neurodivergent, living in the academy where you are more an object of study than a colleague and all that.

This motivates me more than anything because I feel that you lose a lot of what you think, feel and believe when you grow so many conversations, topics and tastes that are never saved and for me this podcast will be just that.
I am supremely excited.
congratulations to me!
xoxo ana.
