Fanfiction needs to get a little more credit, I had seen people who have written series with 1-2 million words and I don’t think people realize thats’s 10-25 novels depending on length!

Fic authors deserve more credit.

Story time: I started a book about 23 hours ago and just finished it. Also in that time I slept for 10 hours, spent time with family, was at work, etc. Anyway, I enjoyed the book (Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda). But it felt like it flew by, so after I finished I looked up the word count because what are pages? Pages are meaningless. I only function in word counts anymore.

The estimate I found was 58,580. My immediate reaction was “oh, that’s why. That’s nothing!” But what a shitty response. Because no. That’s not nothing. That’s a whole. Damn. Book. An entire novel! And Fic authors regularly bust out 30k, 50k, 100k, 150k words. AND THEY DO IT FOR FREE. WHILE WORKING AND LIVING THEIR LIVES.

So anyway, thank your favorite fic author today because they deserve it. Because they’re amazing. They’re the MVPs.

DATE DISASTER IDEAS

Some ideas for dates that don’t go as planned! (You can decide if they end up being total disasters or if your characters can make the most out of the situation!)

Person A and Person B get all dressed up to go to a fancy restaurant together but when they get there, the restaurant is completely packed with a 3 hour waiting list to get a table, so they end up eating at the fast food place across the street in their fancy clothes.

Person A and Person B decide to take a dance class together but when they get there, it’s not the style of dancing they were expecting. (Example: they thought it would be ballroom dancing but it turns out to be square dancing / break dancing / tap dancing / etc. You can decide the specifics!)

Person A and Person B go to see a movie together but they both end up really not enjoying the film.

Person A surprises Person B by taking them out on a date that they’ve planned but what Person A doesn’t realize is that they’ve taken Person B to the same place that Person B and their ex used to go to together.

Person A and Person B are having a lovely picnic in the park when suddenly they’re chased away by a swarm of bees.

Person A and Person B go roller skating together but one of them falls and gets hurt and they end up spending their romantic night out in the ER.

Person A and Person B go to a sporting event together, but the team they’re both rooting for loses brutally.

Person A and Person B go to an amusement park together and decide to ride a roller coaster but the ride gets stuck while they’re on it.

Person A and Person B go out to a bar not realizing that it’s karaoke night and all the other patrons are drunk, singing terribly, and keep pressuring Person A and Person B to sing a song together.

Person A takes Person B out on a perfect date. They’re having the best time together and Person B is under the assumption that Person A is going to propose to them, but Person A has no intention of doing that today.
