my story features a chaotic group of teenagers who find a family within each other. if you like found family, lgbtq+ characters (all of the mains are part of the community!), diversity, a touch of romance (rivals to lovers! cute, fluffy relationships!), and a healthy mix of fluff and angst, then keep reading for a full(er) description!

years in the future, after a nuclear fallout has wiped out most of the population, those who survived were forced to adapt. based on their environments, they developed powers (either fire, water, ice, darkness, or storm) and formed isolated groups. eventually, as society began to rebuild a bit, the groups created a shaky alliance with each other, but tension still runs high between people with differing powers. to create unity, the head of the government creates a boarding school, where the most powerful teenagers of each group are sent to compete for a place on the government’s security team. one student from each powered group will be chosen, and they have to learn how to fight with their fists, powers, and minds.

violetta isn’t exactly what you would call powerful. her parents bought her way into the boarding school, so she doesn’t truly belong there. but what she lacks in power, she makes up for in determination. violetta is put into a dorm room with four other teenagers, and, though she’s never met people with different powers, they all become close friends. these are the people she will spend the most time with in the boarding school, and the ones she will learn to fight alongside.

but it’s not all roses. not everyone wants the boarding school to succeed. and not all things are as they seem. and violetta is quickly distracted by a rebellious girl who puts up walls and opposes her at every turn.

What is their idea of a really fun time?

Zach: he wouldn't like to be alone, but if he had to he'd probably play video games. He'd love to spend time with anyone at a park, provided there are trees and a ball to toss around.

Bella: a book club! She'd love to hang out and discuss good books with close friends. Alone, she loves to create new bots, crack codes, and read.

Freddie: eww, people take him to a science fair and enjoy the purity of him feeling out over cool simple experiments. He loves reading graphic novels and his side projects that he sometimes does for money. Or to prove a point. More often the latter.

This is who I've been teasing at! Victor-Hecate is also one of my favourites. They sparked the Fusion AU when Briar and I started writing about them. They're almost as much of a sweetheart as Fera, and wouldn't hurt a fly, despite their morbid powers. They're a bit of a wallflower, since they try to avoid confrontation and the subsequent pain. They're a gymnast, and exclusively use the most covering leotards, for obvious reasons. They also play a lot of video games, to fill the time they otherwise would with socialising. Their family is amazing, and a little odd, but very supportive. Also! Their mother is Violetta's mother's twin sister, making them and Vi cousins.

Hi! Thanks so much for asking!

Tae's childhood was really sweet. Their close family is pretty unconventional but very loving. They were quite rambunctious as a child and got into a lot of mischief. They spent a lot of time with their cousin, Violetta in her family's neighbourhood, though Vi visited them sometimes.

Naturally, the way they found out about their powers was angsty. Like most kids, their powers developed after their tenth birthday. They were playing in a backyard with their cousin and was roughhousing a bit. They went to shove Vi, and once they did, pain bloomed in their throat. Though that was the first instance, it alerted their close family to the situation. After other similar interactions and testing, they were officially informed. This led to them retreating from people generally. They didn't want to be in unnecessary pain, and since they sometimes have very physical reactions that require explanations, they don't want to freak people out.

Likes: any and all sports, meeting new people, outdoors

Dislikes: cutting himself on anything he touches when he's moody because he hasn't figured something out yet
