Spring break was fast approaching… and with it came that insufferable exam fever, punctuated by short bursts of the euphoric feeling of finally understanding the subject material. Much like the sun was now trying to peak its way down to you. Soft and tentative and brimming with the hope of a new season.

Your life in the city had taken an upturn. You started going out more often, and made good friends– some of whom you knew would be sticking around for the long run. It didn’t feel lonely anymore, and the uncertainty you had previously lugged around with every step had begun to unthaw like everything else as the seasons changed.

Shared house, shared bedroom, shared bodies. Kisses in the afternoon, leading up to sunsets. Kisses that lead nowhere but that — Hyunjin would stop, lips disconnecting in manner reluctant, and would look at you. Would take time to watch you, intently, eyes wandering upon eyes and nose and mouth, on every perfect imperfection, on every ounce, every inch of tenderness. Delicate fingers touching skin, finding lip on lip again. And they'd stay there. Kissing you to simply kiss you, touching you to simply touch — lulling you into him, trancing you, consuming you entirely.

Kisses slow yet in meaning, as though in task — kisses seeming to be taking away baggage, every last bit of rot and decay and mold, turning into something brighter, something blooming, something flourishing instead. Kisses so very simple, so very sweet, so very him.

And he'd kiss you just to kiss you, touch you just to touch. No further intend so no risk in hurting, kisses meaning love, adoring, understanding — and so kisses simply stayed that, simple and sweet and him, and it was enough. Entirely.
