My bf bought an apple tablet and a pencil for it. I visited him this past week and he let me play with it. I ended up downloading Procreate and playing with it. I drew four doodles while I was there lmao. I might need to buy my own tablet for drawing. It's just super easy to use Procreate with the minimal knowledge I have of digital art programs. So here is Minerva in his favorite shell and a Chalco Yong sketch!

Yes! For those of you who don't know Chalco lore, I use two different things specifically for Chalco from the game. One is the Dragon's Shadow hunter exotic because it has the flavor text, "It is my honor --Chalco Yong to Ikora Rey" (probably Chalco's response to Ikora asking her to be in the hidden) and it has the Hidden Creed on it. I've just always imagined after that this exotic piece is the one Chalco actually uses. And the other is we actually know Chalco's color scheme! We have the "Chalco's Finery" shader in game! I use the old version of the shader for how I color in Chalco (the new one makes the terracotta color look very dark red, even tho there is no dark red when applied to something). Like two years ago, I drew her design based around dragons shadow and this shader. I might dump a pile of my Chalco and Ikora art on Tumblr today.

Had to contribute to the Ikora Rey week! I want to do this with markers, so it'll take some time before it's done (probably not before the end of the week, which is why I'm posting the wip). I've always loved Ikora and Chalco's relationship since we got the juicy Hidden Dossier lore book right before Witch Queen (if you're an Ikora simp, you must read the book).

When you read the lore and find a character you really like, but find virtually nothing on that character in terms of fan art and/or that character is rarely referenced in game.

So I've wanted to come up with a better way to draw Chalco's leg armor. I really like the large strap things I give her and I'm fine with boots, but like I just kinda keep her leg armor simple. But I want it to be a bit more detailed for larger pieces. Well, I found some random hunter in the tower with some good leg drip.

I tried drawing it on Chalco with some modifications to fit her aesthetic a bit more and really like them! Then I finally looked up what this set was for, and realized it's the Assassin's Creed armor set. So Chalco is an Assassin's Creed creed girlie. She found an old copy of the game on some golden age computer and made it into her fashion. Actually maybe this is why we have these armor sets to begin with in universe lol.

yknow destiny wasn't the first media I got into that had queer rep but it was the first media I consumed personally that treated it like it was a normal way of just... being. it doesn't have to be an entire thing, people can just exist like that. Of course Osiris and Saint-14 are in love, why wouldn't they be? Nimbus uses they/them pronouns because what else would they use? (there are so many more examples but we'd be here all day) It shifted how I looked at representation in media and in my own writing: why does it have to be a big deal all the time? What if we were just allowed to exist like cishet people do in media I see everyday? And Destiny is an fps! with the exact kind of community you'd expect a game like that to have!

anyway in conclusion destiny is fucking incredible and I'm so thankful that it exists so I can finally see people like me exist in a space where people often try their best to erase that

Eido! Had to draw her soon after completing act 1 of this episode. It's just based on a screenshot I took while playing to try some colors for some of the things in her tonic lab. There will definitely be more Eido art coming soon!
