Got this random pose from AdorkaStock on DeviantArt and decided to turn it into my warlock breaking down in front of Sundance's shell. I made it a lot more sketchy than I usually do when using markers, but I think it added to the piece.

Bubo and Ticuus

Current WIP. Planning on inking and coloring it with markers.

I love drawing my hunter Violet with a bunch of knives and I love drawing Bubo with either a Dawnblade or Ticuus. I decided to do my favorite loadout in game: a bow, a sword, and a glaive. It's not practical, but I love them all and use them way too often.

I imagine my warlock uses Ticuus Divination and Black Talon as her signature weapons and Nezarec's Sin as her glaive cause, well, I've always been a warlock who had wondered who this Nezarec is. I know Black Talons lore basically explains it was probably made in honor of Uldren's death by his crows, buuuuut my head cannon is Bubo was a crow in her past life and had Black Talon when she died. So, when Minerva rezzed Bubo in the Dreaming City, this was her first weapon. This, along with a tattoo of a feather she has and the Sov's initial reaction to her, led her to learn more about her past self.

Also, I got the Rival Warlock Shell figurine and gosh, is it massive (13 inches long!) The wingspan is nearly the length of my shoulders. Now I draw Minerva a lot bigger than I used to.

Bubo will sit in a chair normally, but Minerva will float upsidedown next to her. He's....an interesting ghost.

Bubo in Neomuna

Rooftop shenanigans in Neomuna! Surprisingly, Minerva isn't floating upsidedown. Unsurprisingly, Bubo is using her Ticuus, Black Talon, and Nezarec's Whisper. Pose from AdorkaStock reference photo! Check them out for some fun poses!

Minerva's Shell Collection

Okay, so did a little doodle of most of the shells in Minerva's collection. He loves having different shells for every occasion. He loves Sagira's shell, and so many of his shells incorporate floating bits that don't really protect a ghost, but are fashionable. Here are a few reasons why he has each shell.

Rival Warlock Shell: Minerva's default shell. It is his absolute favorite. He likes to be on theme with Bubo's bird name (Bubo is Latin for Owl) and she's a warlock, so he decides to wear this most of the time. When people think of the Young Wolf's ghost, they picture this shell. Plus, Bubo painted the shell for him so it's a pretty blue instead of yellow and he adores it. Buuuut, in game, when you have your ghost scan something with this shell on, it's always upsidedown, so my boyfriend and I have an ongoing joke that Minerva is always a cheery little ghost who likes to be upsidedown and sleeps like that. Edgewise (my bf's ghost) always makes fun of Minerva for it and thinks he is a weird ghost.

Kill Tracker Shell: This was the first shell I used a lot in Destiny (I started with Beyond Light), so I see this as Minerva's first shell besides the basic general shell (and then Minerva became addicted to buying new shells and all of Bubo's glimmer/bright dust disappeared).

Gyro Shell: Minerva wears this when Bubo decides to be a voidwalker with Nezarec's Sin. She wears a very dark green eliksni robes with it (the ones from Season of the Splicer) and so Minerva puts on the gyro shell (with the vex decay shader). It is one of his favorite shells. He likes seeing the three circles rotate around each other and his core.

Arc Shell: Bubo hates being a stormcaller. Like, it's her lest favorite super. But Ikora and Chalco keep telling her to work on it (I imagine Chalco Yong being an arcstrider, so she helps Bubo with arc when Ikora is too busy being warlock vanguard). Sooooo, Minerva got this shell to motivate Bubo to use arc. Bubo was kinda forced by Ikora to use arc for three months, but she quickly went back to her usual. The shell is a bit too flashy for Minerva, but he wore it for those three months and he would do it again in a heartbeat if Ikora wanted Bubo to do that again.

Simulation Shell: Minerva loves a good golden shell and this one is so intricate. While some think it is strange he wants to wear something so clearly Vex inspired, Minerva doesn't really care since Bubo has gone against some worse threats in Sol than the Vex. Plus, can't he just appreciate their architectural flair sometimes?

Wayfinder's Shell: Of course his guardian is a reef-born awoken, so Minerva had to have an awoken shell. He loves the simplicity of it, yet how it screams awoken. Plus, another shell with gold lol. I imagine either Minerva found it in the city or Petra gave it to him one Dawning, as a present for both Bubo and Minerva.

Age of Tomorrow Shell: This one...this one speaks of Minerva's depression after watching Sundance and Cayde dying in one fell swoop. He and Bubo were the ones who watched as Cayde died and so for a little while, Minerva stopped wearing his frilly shells, especially as they chased down the Barons. But eventually with help from his ghost friends and guardians, he goes back to his usual selection of shells.

Ace of Spades Fireteam

So, here is my pinned post, with a bit about my guardians! In my head, the three guardians you make in D2 is the young wolf’s 3-person fireteam. I play with my boyfriend, so essentially we have a 6-person fireteam, buuuuut, some of them aren’t fleshed out, so here is the basic info. Also, I should add that in my head, my bf’s titan and my warlock are the young wolves, and it is not just one person.

Bubo (she/her)--awoken warlock. Dawnblade. The YW. Ghost: Minerva.

She was rezzed in the Dreaming City at the time the young wolf was rezzed. She loves her dawnblade, but she uses all the light/darkness subclasses (except for stormcalling). She is the student of Ikora Rey and focuses on history, mainly of the awoken and lightbearers. She hopes to establish a museum in the city one day. She often gets in trouble, such as being the first Shadebinder, learning too much about her previous life, and wanting to keep an Ahamkara bone in her house in the city.

Tripore (he/him)--human titan. Sunbreaker. The YW. Ghost: Edgewise.

Tripore was rezzed in the Cosmodrome, a few years before Bubo. He loves the archives and has become a hidden who focuses on better data management. On the battlefield, he yeets as many nades as possible (and says "where's my hammer?" every five seconds). He loves doing photography and becoming a Dregen in his downtime. Bubo hates how much she is dragged into Gambit by Tripore.

Violet (she/her)--awoken hunter. Nightstalker. Ghost: Rose.

She was on the same fireteam as Cayde and Andal Brask and ended up being on this new light fireteam when she found Bubo in the Dreaming City. A hunter who is probably not the best influence on any new lights, but is quite effective at what she does. She mainly loves sniping, playing with knives, and drinking way too much alcohol.

Cynthia-28 (she/her)--exo titan. Sentinel/ Behemoth. Ghost: Lawrence

Cynthia was rezzed in the early city age. She has an old exo frame that constantly has issues, so she became an exo scientist to learn more about exos and to help others who don’t have the light/can heal themselves. She also tries to take apart our robot dog.

??? (she/her)--awoken warlock. Stormcaller. Ghost: ???

She still needs a name. She was rezzed in the late dark ages and has stayed away from a lot of the fighting, focusing on her studies instead. She ends up on Bubo’s fireteam just cause they needed a bit more firepower fighting Crota, and Bubo just happened to know her.

Shiro-4 (he/him)--exo hunter. Ghost: Suzume

Okay, we haven't had any lore on Shiro since D1, and I want to know what he is up to, so he is the final member of the Ace fireteam. I think he was on the same fireteam as Cayde, Andal, Violet, and Tevis Larsen years ago, but now Violet and Shiro are the last two from that fireteam. Like the unnamed warlock, Shiro is more so just there to help when Ace needs it and he is a reliable hunter.

Minerva's super bright shell

I recently discovered two old comic ideas for Minerva, Edgewise, and Glint during Season of the Plunder. I often write them but never actually draw them. For some context for these ones, Bubo was forced to use arc by Ikora, so Minerva wears the Bright Cycle Shell to support Bubo. Edgewise once again can't understand why Minerva loves all his shells, so once again Edgewise jests about Minerva's fashion sense (my bf uses only one shell for his ghost while I change my ghost shells out all the time). Also, also, Glint gives Minerva a pirate hat that season (idk where he got it, but he felt Minerva should have it). So, I just drew one little panel for each, but here is the dialogue for both:

Minerva: I can't wait to find treasure! I have to tell Glint about it!

Edgewise: You're gonna find treasure in that...? You're just asking for every Eliksni to attack you

Minerva: Bubo is working on her stormcalling, so I'm wearing this to cheer her on!

Edgewise: Yeah, Tripore is doing the same, but i'm not wearing an arc shell.

Minerva: You could at least paint your shell

Edgewise: There are more pressing matters at hand

Minerva: We get to find treasure with Eido and Missraakskel!

Glint: That sounds like fun! I wish I could come along! It'd be like searching for Headless Ones!

Minerva: I know, we could've been pirates together.

Glint: Wait, I have just the thing for you! *pulls out pirate hat and put it on Minerva*

Minerva: Thank you so much Glint!

Edgewise: Why do you have a pirate hat now?

Minerva: It's from Glint! He thought a pirate needs it!

Edgewise: of course he would....

I love them and I wanna see more moments between our guardian and Ghost

Saw this post and decided to focus on the two ghosts who have the most amount of headcanon lore--Minerva (my warlock, Bubo’s, ghost) and Edgewise (my bf’s titan, Tripore’s, ghost). Over the years, we have slowly fleshed out what our ghosts would be like, often when the Ghost is involved, we try to identify which one of our ghosts is speaking. So yeah, we just have way too much lore about them lol. 

Ghosts who refuse to heal their Guardians when they’re mad (in non-critical situations)

Totally Edgewise. He would get mad at Tripore for making Edgewise rezz him one too many times, so at the end of a battle, when he’s not too hurt, Edgewise just won’t heal him (Of course, it helps Edgewise knows Tripore has his warlock gf nearby to put down a well or rift for Tripore). Edgewise is like Saladin’s ghost, Isirah, who just believes that their guardian needs to just get good and not die so much. 

Ghosts who insist they want to try out tons of ridiculous hobbies, or try to find some to do with their Guardian

Minerva is the one who is upset about the possible ballet fan, Rasputin, getting hurt in that one strike. Bubo is very much into drawing and sewing in her down time, especially drawing cause she can take it with her very easily on her ship. Meanwhile, her ghost loves the performing arts. Music. Ballet. Dancing. Plays. Minerva likes to float around doing little dances and volunteers at the Ghost Community Theater.

Ghosts who sneakily transmat things they like back to the ship, much to the surprise of their Guardian

Minerva and Bubo are hoarders of mementos, so yes, I can see this happening 

Ghosts who like their own little cubby/space to spend time while their Guardian sleeps (it’s fully decorated)

I DREW A COMIC AND GAVE IT TO MY BOYFRIEND OF BUBO GETTING MINERVA AND EDGEWISE A LITTLE TERRARIUM FOR THE DAWNING. Of course Minerva absolutely adores it! Edgewise doesn’t like it, but secretly loves it and sometimes is caught sleeping in there when he thinks no one is looking but it's in a high-traffic part of the house, so he gets caught a lot. It has a little dreaming city tree and fairy lights and some small pillows and blankets. It's pretty lit. I need to draw just the concept art again and post it on here.

Ghosts that bonk their shells against their Guardian in frustration or playfulness

Definitely Minerva playfully.

Ghosts that hate each other, but their Guardians are best friends or lovers

MINVERA AND EDGEWISE ARE COMPLETE OPPOSITES LOLOL. They have to put up with each other now that their guardians are dating. Even worse was during the Red War, Bubo and Violet’s apartment (they were roommates when Bubo was a wee new light. Violet's apartment had a spare bedroom or two for hunter friends who wanna crash for a few days when they actually come to the city) was destroyed, so after the war Bubo moved in with Tripore. They eventually got a bigger apartment around Witch Queen. And this means Edgewise has to deal with both Bubo and Minerva who are weirdos. Bubo is always trying to learn about weird awoken magic he is pretty sure isn’t legal/safe to use in the city. And even weirder is her ghost Minerva who constantly floats upside down and is too happy considering how serious things are with the world right now. So yeah, they don’t hate each other, but they have very different personalities that clash. 

Ghosts who don’t care what their Guardian thinks, because who’s been alive longer? That’s right. It’s Ghost.

This is Edgewise. Definitely. 

Ghosts who are *way* too into the fashion show, and their Guardian is begging them to let it go

Minerva absolutely LOVES getting dressed up for literally everything and anything. He especially likes matching Bubo. Armor? Dresses? Casual nerdy warlock clothes? Minerva loves them all and loves getting fifty bazillion shells. Bubo’s wallet cries every single time they find a new shell out in the wild lol. But his favorite and the one he wears most often is his Rival Warlock Shell that bubo painted to match one of her armor sets (even tho she doesn’t wear those robes much anymore, he still loves it)

Ghosts who always use some of their down time in the City to mourn those lost. Some of those that their Guardian never knew, because they lived and died before Ghost found their Guardian.

Hmmm. Does Edgewise have an angsty backstory that explains why he is super serious all the time? Idk. I haven’t really thought of Minerva or Edgewise’s backstories. 

More Ghost things:

Ghosts that are just. Really bad at reading the room, much to the chagrin of their Guardian.

Ghosts who don’t care what their Guardian thinks, because who’s been alive longer? That’s right. It’s Ghost.

Ghosts who made a bunch of friends (Guardian or Lightless) before they found their Guardian, so everyone forgets the new Guardian is there the first few times.

Ghosts who are WAY too proud of their Guardian, constantly embarrassing the Guardian who just wants to turn in bounties.

Ghosts who begrudgingly rate each new outfit/color as their Guardian plays fashion

Ghosts who are *way* too into the fashion show, and their Guardian is begging them to let it go.

Ghosts trying to sing with their Guardian – who also can’t sing.

Ghosts who adamantly want a pet

Ghosts who insist they can’t have a pet, because it’s already hard trying to keep the Guardian alive (and they get multiple shots at it)

Ghosts that get huffy when they’re upset, but not vocally. You just see their shells twisting and puffing in and out.

Ghosts betting things between each other (Hey, I bet you this shell that my Guardian will get more kills than yours)

Ghosts that tut at their Guardian over every little scratch and bruise out of worry

So, I was going through my sketchbooks to figure out which markers I use for Tripore's armor. And I totally forgot this one idea I had last year where it's summer and the young wolves use stasis to make Stasis Italian Ice. They set up a stand in the tower and Aunor flips out over it, cause Aunor doesn't know what fun is. Also, Edgewise and Minerva get little chef hats, which Edgewise tries his best to shake off. Oh and Saint gives Tripore one of his favorite aprons. Cause Saint totally has a bunch of aprons for cooking.

Making a scrapbook for my boyfriend since we've been dating for five years now (this is why I'm not drawing d2 fan art rn. I'm busy drawing lots of art for this)! I had to include a spread to all of our hours in Destiny 2! The finished Bubo and Tripore Dreaming City date drawing, doodles of our ghosts and their favorite shells, our class symbols, the DLCs we've played together and the seasons we actually did the story, and two of his favorite seals that he goes and gilds every season (Dredgen and Deadeye). This page turned out so cute! I only have a few more pages and then I'll be done! I bit off a bit more than I can chew with this project (like I tend to do with crafty/artsy stuff lol), but I know my bf will love it.

Having a bad morning means drawing my warlock's current armor set and trying to figure out how to get the colors to work with my limited number of markers lol. I definitely need to make it lighter, but I absolutely love the color of the blue and the gold colored accents!

Also, it's disappointing the orange part of Sunbracers can't be changed. I personally have a headcannon that they totally can be changed. It's based on the warlock's solar capabilities. So new lights using them wouldn't be able to change them at all, but older warlocks or warlocks who have outstanding light capabilities could do an array of colors if they wanted (like Osiris with his white ones or Bubo making hers pink here). So yeah, it's kinda of a symbol of a warlock's capabilities. Also, I think Osiris keeps his on after he lost his light as a reminder of Sagira and the warmth of his light.

Immaru: Glint wanted to tag along, but I ditched him for your nerdy Fallen friend--I'll be your ghost host for this little field trip.

Bubo: First off Immaru, rude, Eido is an Eliksni, not a fallen. That's offensive. She's my bestie, so you better not say anything bad about Eido. Secondly, Glint needs to be here! Why are you here instead?

Happy Hall Between! Minerva is a cat and Bubo decided to go as Riven! (shhhh don't tell Aunor about her costume. Plus Ikora already knows about Bubo's costume and doesn't care Bubo is a wish dragon. Ikora knows the difference between actual wish dragon magic and guardians having fun).

I love how this piece turned out! It's dumb and fun and it gives such Festival of Shenanigans the Lost vibes!

Of course while playing final shape, I had to doodle Minerva with his shell and core all messed up by the Witness. Then I had to doodle all the other ghosts of the Final Shape too! I wanted to add Sundance, but there wasn't really a good spot to draw her in the end.

My bf bought an apple tablet and a pencil for it. I visited him this past week and he let me play with it. I ended up downloading Procreate and playing with it. I drew four doodles while I was there lmao. I might need to buy my own tablet for drawing. It's just super easy to use Procreate with the minimal knowledge I have of digital art programs. So here is Minerva in his favorite shell and a Chalco Yong sketch!
