So spoilers ahead for the new destiny showcase! It's just my first impressions and it's not really cohesive

Gosh, the hype is real! If there is one thing the marketing team is very good at, is selling Destiny!

So, first off! I absolutely love how they have the voice over of the trailer as Ghost. We have dragged our little buddy through so much, and it's nice to hear his perspective on things.

Next! No new darkness subclass? I'm kinda surprised, but I'm super duper hyped by the warlock solar buddy! I don't care about any other detail about subclasses! I repeat WARLOCK SOLAR BUDDY IS FINALLY CANON!

Eris fusing with Xivu was kinda out of left field, but having two waifus fuse with one another is kinda hot! Also, seems like we won't rez Savvy right away. I figured it would be a lot of hive magic shenanigans this season. I just wasn't expected Xivu this season, even tho I probably should have been. Also, seems like Ikora is only in one cutscene again...rip my girl

Also, I don't care about Crotas End in D2, cause I don't raid, BUT I do care a lot that Crotas End armor is in the game! I absolutely love the armor set after finding it online one day and I am so happy it's coming to D2 and there is a chance I could use it.

Also, this whole Episodes things after the Final Shape will be interesting. Like, will we still have major DLCs or just Episodes? But! I am happy that they are kinda their own separate things in a way, because I think they can do some fun stories beyond the main series. Though I wonder if they'll do a few years of Episodes and then do a new Destiny saga. They did say that the Final Shape is only ending the first saga, so it seems like they're cooking something. I also wonder if they'll make a new destiny game post Final Shape? Maybe a few years with Episodes and then a new fresh game? I guess we'll see.

I'm so glad they gave us this lore entry. I was really hoping we'd see Saint and Osiris talk about working with Savathun. Also, Osiris feels so vulnerable in this lore entry, which is nice to see from time to time. He often puts up a wall, and while it is definitely still there in this lore entry, it is still not as great of a barrier. It just feels like open and honest communication between two partners. The writers did a great job with this one!

The seasonal lore book is called Rites of Passage. I need to show the lore book page art:

The symbols in the corners: in top row, regular Eris symbol and Hive!Eris symbol. On the bottom, Saint's symbol and Osiris's symbol. I am begging. For this lore book to finally have a conversation between Eris and Osiris. Please. They are besties. They have not spoken to each other in over 3 years. This is unreasonable. Please.

Being back in the tumblr destiny community is so refreshing.

Twitter, reddit, YouTube; they're all so full of negativity and hate for the game that I often wonder why they even keep interest in it.

I love the way that this community treats their guardians as their OCs. You give them a new life. I love seeing the fanart, the fanfics, the relationships that you canonize through your guardian.

I know we are viewed at the smaller (and weirder) community, but I'd rather be here than anywhere else.

Season of the Witch spoilers for two new lore entries featuring Glint!

Okay, so there are two different lore entries about Glint. First one is for the weapon Byra's Love, in which Glint asks a few ghosts about what Eris Morn's ghost, Byra, was like. Really great to get more lore about what Eris and Byra were like before the Hellmouth.

Anyways, then there is a second lore entry (Laminos), in which Glint, Crow, and Immaru are having a casual conversation about how Eris got her third eye. Glint is telling the story. You just have to read the whole thing:

"So there she was," Glint continued, "lost deep beneath the Hellmouth, hunted by the Hive."

Immaru tilted forward, uncharacteristically rapt. Crow sat nearby, sipping an Ether Fizz. The Hive Ghost had made an offhand inquiry as to where Eris Morn got her third eye, and soon the trio were fully invested in Glint's campfire tale.

Glint lowered his voice ominously. "With her loyal Ghost, Brya, drained of his Light, Eris was left defenseless. Her final hope was the bone she'd been gifted by a grateful Ahamkara she saved from certain death once."

Crow cleared his throat uncomfortably. "Actually," he whispered to Glint, "I think she killed that Ahamkara…"

"And good thing, too," Glint continued without missing a beat. "Because in her time of need, the spirit of the Ahamkara whispered to her, offering the solution to her problems."

"Easy," Immaru interjected. "Ambush an Acolyte, rip its head off, and graft its eyes onto her face, right?"

Crow nodded grimly, while Glint rolled his eye. "No," the Ghost corrected Immaru. "The Ahamkara told her to befriend a certain Knight of Crota who was tired of serving the Darkness."

Crow choked on his Ether Fizz, dissolving into a coughing fit. "That's not quite—"

"Eris found the Knight, and they quickly forged a bond of friendship," Glint pressed on. "The Knight taught her an ancient Hive spell to help her grow her very own third eye! In exchange, Eris helped the Knight free himself from Crota's service. Together they fought through a whole army of Hive and escaped as allies."

"So, you're telling me," Immaru asked, narrowing his iris, "that Eris Morn escaped Crota's clutches with the power of friendship?"

After an uncomfortable pause, Crow sighed. "It's close enough… I suppose."

Anyways, Glint is a conspiracy theorist. The type to believe Area 51 has some aliens stored in there and bigfoot and the Lock Ness Monster are real. He's such a great ghost lol. I love how Crow and Immaru try to stop Glint from telling his version of the story, but Glint won't be stopped from telling it! Crow has his hands full with Glint
