that alone is a bigger reason for Fitz to break up with her than matchmaking by a landslide.

Fitz Vacker is cursed to see himself from a 3rd person perspective at all times. He watches himself from inside of himself, like a movie.

Is my smile real enough? (My cheeks hurt.) Is my posture right? (I want to curl into a ball) Do I look like a Vacker? (My eyes are burning with unshed tears) Is my hair styled right? (Can you see me? I think about him at Alvar's tribunal, and how that's the worst he's ever looked publicly. I wonder what his 'alone' must have looked like.
