The Battle Of Chicken Soup
The Battle of Chicken Soup
Steph was not sick. She was not. Nope-
“Achoo!”
Okay maybe a little.
But she’s glad the little demon isn’t here to condemn her to listening to him brag about his “superior” anatomy and how a “mere mortal” like her could never match up to his first class genetics.
Well screw him, at least she has waffles.
Steph shivered and huddled up in her blanket, wishing her mom was here to hug her and make her soup. But her mom had already left for work before she woke up.
So Stephanie Brown followed her three rules for sickness:
Dayquil or Nyquil. Those were a godsend.
Blankets. The more the better.
And the holy grail, coveted sleep™. Lots of sleep.
Red Robin wavered slightly on the rooftop. Batgirl hadn’t shown up for patrol (it was their turn to partner up) and Oracle confirmed she was at home.
Red Robin was not worried. Definitely not. He was just there to know why she ditched. It most certainly was not to see if she was okay or not.
Was it even okay to go into his friend/ex/partner/whatever-the-heck-they-were’s room anymore? What was the proper etiquette for that? He wasn’t exactly taught that at prep school.
He hovered outside her room before deciding to enter because fuck it she couldn’t do worse than slap him, and that’s better than being hit by a brick.
Stephanie Brown got sick the same way she does everything, hard and fast like a wrecking ball.
Tim swore when the thermometer displayed 101.3 degrees onto the screen.
Well his soup-making skills were better than when he was Robin.
“Hey,” He said, gently shaking her shoulder.
“Tim?” She said groggily, “When did you get here?”
“Came to check on you after you didn’t show up for patrol. You’ve got a fever, you should’ve told someone!” He responds, helping her get into a upright position.
“Oh. Right. Patrol. Hey, is that chicken soup?” She smiled. “Deja vu huh?”
He laughs.
“I promise my chef skills have only gotten better.”
“I’ll be the judge of that,” she says, blowing gently onto the spoon. He grins when she nods in approval.
Steph quickly finished her soup, and they fell silent, feeling the ancient pull of chemistry from TimnSteph, two peas in a pod.
“Batgirl and Robin huh.” She says finally, voice hoarse.
“Not Robin anymore,” He reminded her, not looking away.
“You’ll get sick.”
“Doing what?” She swatted at him.
“You know what.”
He caught her hand and looked at her in a way that made her heart melt the same way it had years ago when they were Spoiler and Robin, young, free, and in love.
“It’ll be worth it.”

A Common Purpose
Not sure this is what ibmiller meant when requesting “Tim and Damian being forced to get along because they both care about Steph” but I tried.
Mild sprinklings of Timsteph and Damian not being a complete jerk.
“Drake what are yo-” Damian started as the Redbird bursted into the batcave.
“Shut it Damian.” He growled, bustling past him and cursing Bruce for giving Alfred a vacation today out of all days. He carefully placed his query down and quietly got out the anesthetic.
Damian looked around Tim and his eyes narrowed. “What happened to Brown?” He said, his voice tight. Damian will fiercely deny it later on, but he had grown rather fond of the usually bubbly Batgirl, and he didn’t appreciate someone hurting her.
Behind Tim laid an unconscious Stephanie who has definitely seen better days.
“What does it look like?” Tim snapped, impatient that Damian was taking his attention off Stephanie who was in dire need of it.
Damian stayed silent watching Tim bustle around Steph. A snappy comeback was already forming in his mind, and he opened his mouth. What slipped out however, was something completely different.
“How can I help?”
Two Peas in a Pod
A year of Bricktotheface, a year of this blog. Thank you to everyone who have read, and hopefully enjoyed, my stories. This is the second medieval au that none of you asked for.
War had weathered all of them, Tim noticed. A war with another country was bad. A war within your own country was worse.
But that’s what’s happening in the kingdom of Gotham, as the insane stood themselves up and informed the royals they intended to rule.
He watched King Bruce bear it out for a while, before finally conceding to Richard’s pleas on asking for assistance.
He reached out to the sister kingdom Bludhaven, to the twin queens Dinah and Barbara. Negotiations for an alliance were to begin.
Tim will admit, Bludhaven was a smart tactical choice. They had an infamous, elusive group of independent elite soldiers, as well as multiple connections. Queen Dinah herself was betrothed to King Oliver of the Starling Kingdom, and the soldiers were a force to be reckoned with, part of the royal family themselves. Their army was astounding too. They didn’t tell him much, only that the alliance was going to come in the form of a betrothal.
He saw Richard’s worried eyes and panicked. Bruce wouldn’t marry his heir out would he? Not when he promised them all a chance for true love that he had received himself.
Tim worried as the date that one of the soldiers would arrive came closer and closer…
Until the day came.
“Knight Brown requests entry to negotiate alliances between the kingdom of Bludhaven and the sister Gotham,” A herald announced, nervousness shown as he is face to face with the royal family of the dark Kingdom.
“Send him in.” Bruce commanded.
“But Your Majesty-”
“Send him in.”
Richard sends a look toward Bruce, a reminder to be kind, and Jason stops lounging, sitting straight up. Tim too, was curious as too what the knight looked like.
They were stunned when the a blonde in dark armor walks in, purple accents showing her rank. Not him. Her.
Jason’s eyes are bugging out, Richard’s eyebrows raised, and Bruce’s lips thinned. Tim just stares.
She was beautiful.
The woman drops into a graceful curtesy. Tim wonders if an angel from Heaven itself has decided to come down and greet them. Bruce dips his head in greeting, and they all get up, bowing to the princessknightsoldier representative from Bludhaven. He can see Bruce’s disapproval all through the polite negotiations and finds himself shocked. The knight was perfect, how dare he disapprove. Tim barely pays attention, eyes lingering on the woman as she talks, barely keeping a straight face when she flashes a smile at him.
She was radiant.
Tim wonders if she would be the one for him. He resolved to do his best to get to know her, have her get to know him.
She smiles a lot. Her face lights up when she smiles. She’s delightful. She makes funny remarks. She’s everything they hoped for. She’s everything they needed. She’s everything they wanted.
She’s absolutely amazing.
He kisses her hand softly when they’re introduced. He straightens up-
And forgets where he was. Her eyes, they were stunning, sparkling, amazing. Right there and then, he decides to court her.
Dyed at the Stalk
In which Tim is a smooth boy for once and it turns into a traditon.
“So tell me, what kind of flower did he give you yesterday?” Stephanie leaned back against the counter, smiling.
"A blue phalaenopsis orchid. Apparently it matches my eyes.“ She heard her friend giggle.
Stephanie works part time at her aunt’s floral shop and things had been pretty dull. The smell of all the flowers were too sickeningly sweet smelling, the costumers far too picky, and she had to learn how to tell flowers apart by glance, so she is prepared for any question.
One day, she had been opening up the store when an utterly gorgeous blue eyed guy walked in. He wandered around a bit, and Stephanie set to start playing her favorite game. Guess what each costumer wanted when they walked in. For blue eyed hottie, she guessed girlfriend. There was no way some one as attractive as him would not have a girlfriend.
The boy, she found out, was incredibly polite with her. He never tried to “get some” with her as other obnoxious guys have, nor did he snap at her. That only rectified her earlier statement. Charming and hot? There was no way he wasn’t snapped up by girls.
The hottie seemed to have made his decision, picked out a single flower, and walked it up to her. He silently payed for the flower, and to her surprise, reached across the counter and tucked it behind her ear. Her cheeks flushed, and the hottie smirked before walking out.
Everyday since, he’s been walking in and buying a flower for her. They never exchanged words, and she still doesn’t know his name, yet she feels a connection to him.
A smile played onto her lips as she hung up the phone. It was almost time for him to come, and start the routine all over again.
Heart's a Mosaic, Body's a Painting
Stephanie had no problem putting batboys in their place. She slapped Batman for goodness sake, even Jason Todd knew not to mess with her.
Well, all batboys except for her ex. And Damian Wayne on a rampage.
For example, “Father, why must I always patrol with that incompetent oaf, Drake. I wish to be partnered with Grayson.”
And boom. Here she is now, squeezed in a gargoyle sandwich with her ex on a roof.
Oh patrol is lovely. The criminals were determined to smash them in the a pulp, the view was smoggy, terrible, and smoggy, and her partner.
Well her partner.
Her partner was only stonily ignoring her.
Five out of five stars. Would recommend.
“Hey, where are you-”
She swore silently, getting up to follow him. Partners, huh. Could’ve fooled her.
Batgirl landed onto the first thug and showed the second one her fist. There was a satisfying crack! and Steph imagined Tim was there instead.
She ziptied the last guys before looking up and swearing again. Someone had to introduce Red Robin the meaning of partners before she introduced him to her fist.
“Alright, maybe I’m missing something here, but I’m pretty sure partners suggest working together, which you have not…”
She falters when he walks over to her.
“You got hurt,” he says quietly, checking her shoulder.
She flushes, and braces herself for the reprimanding soon to come because shit it was a pretty rookie mistake.
“It’s pretty deep. Let’s go back so we can stitch that up.”
Steph’s head snaps up. No scolding? No lecturing? Had she made that mistake way back then as Spoiler, Tim would’ve already been through his fifth lecture about how she wasn’t ready.
But as they were heading back, Stephanie only had one thought left.
This wasn’t a good idea.
“So,” She says when they’re out of the uniforms and he’s almost done stitching her up and too close too close too close. “Think that’ll leave a big scar?”
“I doubt it. People probably won’t even notice it,” he says, finally done. Steph gets up and inspects the stitches.
“You’re just jealous.”
He rolled his eyes.
“As if,” he says, lifting his shirt. Half of Steph cheers yay six pack! While the other half calmly tells them that it’s nothing new and she can go look at her Shirtless Tim folder later.
Tim points out a long puckered scar. “Poison Ivy gave me that when I got too close to one of her “babies”.
Steph can practically feel the tension between them melting away.
She rolled her eyes. “That little thing? Please. I got this,” she says pointing out the jagged scar on her thigh.
“I got this from breaking up a gang fight.”
He rolled up his sleeve.
“Got this from fending off a hallucinating Batman.
"Bullet wound.”
“Knife wound from Joker.”
“Penguin got overexcited with the katana he found.
"Shrapnel after Harley decided blowing things up was fun.”
She stands up, pushing her hair to the side to reveal the jagged scar stretching across her neck.
“I got this in that encounter with Black Mask. Really makes it hard to wear my hair up…” She stops talking when she’s aware of his presence right behind her.
A tender hand carefully brushes a few excess tendrils of hair aside, and her body tingled from the feather-light touch.
A hand trails across the scar on the back of her neck, tracing it’s shape, and the previous carefree air was casted away.
Steph stopped breathing when she felt a gentle kiss pressed against her scar, over and over again until he covers the entire scar. By the time he’s done, she’s completely tense, jaw clenched shut, nails digging into her palms.
“I know I’ve messed up, but do you think we can, you know…” Tim trails off, stepping away. “Can we… try again?”
Stephanie only allowed herself a second to think before turning around and draping her arms around him.
“Depends. Have you got a scar that beats mine?
As it turns out, he did.
Blonde
Hello! I’m rather new here, and this was really just a drabble I had lying around…
It’s not really good, there probably will be errors, but I just wanted to post this. It’s a Timsteph AU were Tim and Steph haven’t met yet, and will meet as Red Robin and Batgirl. I would admit the ending was very rushed. I will be making some kind of sequel where they actually meet though.
Part 2
Tim Drake has heard of her. Oh of course he had. He didn’t know anyone who hasn’t heard of the new blond Batgirl. Not much was known about her really. Only that she was new and she was good.
There was, of course, her brief stint as Spoiler, spoiling all of her father’s plans, but she soon disappeared and everyone thought her dead.
Then Batgirl appeared and there were no connections drawn, except by him. But that’s natural. After all, Tim Drake was, is nothing if not perceptive.
And he looked forward to finally seeing her on the streets as he patrolled, so he can finally get a judge of her character.
After all, her performance as Spoiler has left much to be desired, driven by rage and revenge and basically no skills what so whatever. However, Oracle has told him that the Birds of Prey has helped train her, and she was much, much better now. And he trusted Barbara’s judgement.
So as he patrolled the streets of Gotham, he kept an eye out for the blond female bat.
