Fools Gold
Chapter 1
A dream of a dream
Hunter had always had strange dreams. Ever since he was a child he dreamt of people with similar faces to him all in a white room with golden doors. Always almost identical except for a different scar than him or different hair. Some were taller and some were shorter than him. They were all different in some way and yet were still the same face.
In the dreams they were always whispering. Hunter could never make out what they said but they'd always stare at him and talk to each other. He tried to talk to them when he was younger but he never could tell if they heard him and he never got a response.
As he grew older their whispers and faces became more distant until he could barely hear or see them. He never thought he'd get anywhere close to figuring out the dreams.
So imagine his surprise when he was sucked under Belos's mindscape and found himself in the white room from his dreams.
He was able to get a better look at the room than he'd ever seen before now. The room was large and round with what looked like hundreds of golden doors.
He walked towards a random one and saw his own signature Golden guard mask on it, although there was a large scratch on it. Right under the mask was a nameplate that read Chase. Hunter didn't recognize the name from anywhere.
He walked around looking at all the doors. Each one had a mask with different scratches and a nameplate with different names he didn't recognize. He couldn't count how many doors there were, the number seemed endless to him. One caught his eye though.
It was completely different from the rest. It was made of brown wood. There was no mask on it, just a carving of a bird that looked unnervingly familiar to Hunter. He got closer till he was standing a few feet in front of it.
Suddenly before he could read out any more details the door knob started shaking. Hunter heard a click and the door opened as he stumbled back.
Standing before him was a tall man wearing a white button up. Hunter looked at his face and froze.
Staring back at him was his face. Not exactly though. The man was missing a scar and was older. The most striking difference though was his eyes. The man's were warm brown unlike hunters' raspberry irises. They stared at Hunter with surprise and sadness. Hunter started backing away.
He didn't know what kind of dream this was but he already didn't like it. The man took a step forward. Hunter turned around and bolted to the center of the room searching for a way out. A different door maybe, one that wasn't golden with a mask on it.
Hunter turned around and the man was standing there. He stumbled back and fell in surprise at how close he was. He started backing away again when the man raised his hands.
"Hey, you're okay, you're safe here" he said.
Hunter stopped moving and stared in confusion. "Where am I?" He asked, his voice shaking.
The man gave him a sad smile "it's hard to explain" he said. He held his hand out to Hunter and crouched to his level on the floor.
"My name's Caleb" the man said "what's yours?". Hunter didn't take his hand and just looked at Caleb. "H-hunter" he said. "Nice to meet you hunter, you're in the collective grimwalker mindscape". Hunter's eyes widened.
What!
"What does that even mean, am I dead or dreaming maybe, this doesn't make any sense" Hunter stood up Caleb's eyes not leaving him.
"I know this is all confusing but you have to believe me" Caleb said. "Why should I" Hunter snapped, "I don't even know who you are".
Caleb looked at him sadly. "You don't know what you are, do you?" He asked. Hunter gave him a confused look and Caleb sighed.
"You'll wanna sit down for this"

"Why does Darius look so sad here"
Darius and the previous Golden Guard, my discord friends named him Chase
Definitely gonna draw more of Chase soon
Had an idea for an AU where the Boiling Isles is a sort of combination summer camp and renaissance fair with a bit of LARP mixed in on the staff’s end.
After the Book Report Incident, Camila manages to convince the principal of an alternative to Reality Check, that being to have Luz spend the summer working as an assistant for her old friend from medical school Eda Clawthorne.
Eda’s the on-site pharmacist for Boiling Isles Summer Camp, and also runs an “illegal” pop-up gift shop, since in-character she’s still the Isles’ Most Wanted. She’s also got her adopted son King with her, since leaving an eight-year-old either alone or with a sitter for three months out of the year is very much not a good idea. Hooty is some kind of weird animatronic prop that everyone is convinced has a mind of its own. Also since Luz is technically part of the staff instead of a regular camper she doesn’t always get the chance to participate in the different camp activities, as a parallel to how not having magic keeps her from doing a lot of things other witches can do.
The camp was founded by Caleb Wittebane, and after his death it fell under the ownership of his younger brother Phillip. Phillip not-so-secretly can’t stand the place and only keeps it running out of obligation to his brother, so he’s constantly looking for an excuse to “have to” shut it down. Also he has some kind of beef with Eda and takes her Wanted Criminal role a little too seriously. Hunter really is his nephew who he has custody over, and the Collector is his foster kid named Collin. He’s not quite as bad with them as canon Belos, but still should definitely not be a parent or let anywhere near children.

This is really cute!

I found this really beautiful picrew maker, and I thought I should share! @vicki-toria-kristal, @lonewolfel, @fullmusicbard, @c0pper0tter, I’d like to see you guys try this out!
Lol

In light of recent events involving @vicki-toria-kristal.
