y’all know I’m a madniss girlie (/gn) first and foremost but I’m a qpr everlark mood today

the reason I love hc-ing everlark as a qpr is the fact that I think it would be so beautiful, after everything they’ve been through with the capitol putting all these constraints on them, that katniss and peeta able to define their relationship on their own terms. I know they could do that with a romantic relationship, too, but having them being in a qpr makes it feel more uniquely them.

also, because I know people are going to bring this up, canon never says they get married. and even if it did… some qpps decide to get married. some qpps decide to have children. that’s the beauty of qprs. there are absolutely zero expectations. a qpr can be anything the people involved want it to be, and I think katniss and peeta would take such solace in that, while still being as committed to each other as they are in canon.

to be clear, you’re welcome to interpret their relationship however you want. I am very aware that I am in the minority here. all I ask is that y’all please not imply/say that hc’ing them as a qpr “takes away from the canon ending,” because it doesn’t. romantic partnerships are not superior to qprs in any way (or platonic relationships for that matter). they’re all equally important and all have the ability of being very intimate (and by intimate I mean close in general, not necessarily in a sexual way) relationships.

I think this fandom just needs more qpr fics overall. if you have any fic recs featuring a qpr, please send them to me—canon character, oc, doesn’t matter!
