He just follows up on the Fives situation and finds out about the chips, because of Rex, and confronts Palpatine about it, because of Rex, and kills the ruler of the galaxy in broad daylight, because of Rex, and now he's in jail awaiting trial for murder, because of Rex.

What in the world is the good captain supposed to do with that?

How do you tell a guy you were playing it up so he'd be more willing to risk his life for you and your brothers after that?

(I'm going to tag this as dubcon just because Rex is being deliberately manipulative about this, and it could be argued that his lying about the strength of his feelings compromises Anakin's consent.)
