hookup culture is actually wild to me because I have to literally be in love to even hold someone's hand.
and the funniest part of it all you tell yourself to just leave it all and accept and move on but your brain's like you know what you owe yourself a teeny tiny space for a hopeless hope. I swear to god it's exhauuuusssting
this is about hope. the kind of hope that makes you feel disgusted. the kind of hope that makes you want to question your self-respect. the hope of getting that friendship back, the hope of thinking they would crawl back to you, the hope that one day your parents will see you for who you are. the hope that this world could be a better place. the hope that’s rusting on the edges. the hope that makes you want to scream into the pillow and punch holes into the walls and avoid looking into the mirror, for the wreckage is too ugly. too embarrassing. the hope that’s so evil it makes you beg in front of rotten hearts, knowing they are rotten.
this is about hope. the kind of hope that you dare not admit is killing you one tear drop at a time because how dare you take away the only thing you’ve got to hold onto when everything else is falling apart.
