If You Have Adhd AND Autism, You Know That Although The Symptoms Can Be VERY Similar, They Can Also Clash

If you have adhd AND autism, you know that although the symptoms can be VERY similar, they can also clash and then team up to piss you off.

Example:

ADHD: causes me to be a bit disorganized

Autism: craves order and structure

You see where this is going.

I'm bad at looking for things, but I have like five minutes to find it before I start losing my mind. I literally put my work clothes in a specific spot to avoid this, but I don't have my own room so it happened anyway because people like to move my stuff while I'm sleeping. It's always in an obvious spot, but that's the last place I would thing to check because IT'S TOO OBVIOUS.

Maybe I’ll do my worst for the first half of my shift and be hyper and throw out my back moving too fast after lunch. Maybe I’ll start my shift at my best and have a go really slow for the last 3 hours. We’ll see

tryna get a job w adhd like ‘i may be the best employee you’ve ever had or the worst. depends on the day. see for yourself’

Walked my silly little clumsy ass into work tonight and broke a jar. One hour into my shift and I broke a glass jar... :|

I want to go home omfg

But I can't and they're making me work EXTRA fast. I can't keep up with the pace and they might fire me :p

Is spinning an autistic thing? Like I used to just spin until I was ready to fall over, then I would sit down until I regained my balance and then spin some more.... For fun. No other reason than because I thought it was fun.

I think often about how the stories of changelings likely came from people trying to understand what was going on with their autistic child, and it comforts me sometimes- as an autistic person- on nights when I lay awake thinking that I don't belong or how the world is harsh to those who don't fit in to think that perhaps I belonged to the Fae and that there is a place for me among those folk whose rules are so very different from what they are here and that maybe I am not too odd or different and perhaps there is just something magical about me and I needn't try to belong at all
