OUGHghhhghhh feeling VERY abnormal about Cassette Beasts, cannot stop thinking about it, If you enjoy creature collectors like Pokemon, I really and truly cannot recommend this game enough!!! Super cool monster designs, branching evos, wildly dynamic battle mechanics, fusions, romancable NPC's, banger soundtrack, and character customization including pronouns,,,,

I've been playing Cassette Beasts a lot lately, so I ended up drawing one of my favorite monsters from it: Djinn Entonic (the other one is Tokusect)

I made their tray all glow-y because at some point, I thought "what if that's where their attacks come from"

I’ve been playing Cassette Beasts for the last few days, and I really gotta say…

Eugene, buddy… stop being so charming and stupid. You’ve got no thoughts, and so much energy, but you also don’t know what you’re doing… just let your big friend strategize while you continue to use big words incorrectly.

Been playing Cassette Beasts for the past 2 weeks alongside two of my friends—one of them tried it out on Nintendo Switch Game Trials and enjoyed it, convincing me and friend #2 (AKA @kat-the-meme-dealer) to buy it on Steam. And the both of us have enjoyed it, too! While I lagged a bit behind them for a while, all three of us have gotten to the endgame already. Which I think I'll need to grind for... Above is the first bootleg I got in-game, a Carniviper—it's Air-type instead of Poison-type! Got it on my first day playing, before either of my friends found a wild bootleg at that. Below's the screenshot I took when I encountered it in-game:

It's currently a Mardiusa tape—creatively nicknamed Aeridusa—and no matter what, I plan on having it in my endgame party.

A summary of (the first half of) yesterday's Cassette Beasts session with me and my friends:

Don't worry, I did eventually get a Glass-type bootleg. It was a Masquerattle, the less-fun snake, but you have to take what you can get.

Yesterday evening, my friends and I were back in Cassette Beasts, finishing up the last of the things that we hadn't yet finished in the game—namely, the Fossil Quarry questline, and the entirety of the Pier of the Unknown DLC. The short story told in the latter was more touching than we expected, and the three of us ended up spending a lot of time afterwards getting a bit philosophical with the characters and ideas presented to us. Afterwards, I knew I wanted to draw something related to the DLC, so I picked one of the beasts that I recorded and used during my trip to Brightside Pier, the Lightning-type Lapacitor! And I'd say I captured the energy of this battery-bunny-thing quite well. Here's hoping there's more content for this wonderful game in the future!

YES! More Cassette Beasts fans, please. I absolutely adore every part of this game, from the story, to the designs, to the music. I’m only at the starting quests rn, but I love every character I come across. I know I’ll be willing to put in the time to complete the beastiary.

I already bought Pier of the Unknown, and am looking forward to trying it out. I love the clowns, little red riding wolf, and the rocket dudes that want to actually go to space!

Glad to meet someone else enjoying the game as much as I am! I wasn't sure how much I'd enjoy the game at first, but as someone now going through and ranking all the beasts in a tier list with my friends, I can say this: A lot more are knockout designs than I originally expected. (Except Scampire, he stinky) I definitely want to draw more of these beasts in the future!

Cassette Beasts has gained my interest by including plastic, glass, and glitter in its elemental system, and by foregoing the typical system of types being resistant and vulnerable to damage from certain other types in favor of a system that applies buffs and debuffs to creatures if they’re attacked by certain types.

For example, metal and earth beasts damaged by a poison attack will gain a buff that inflicts additional poison damage to targets of their melee attacks, plastic beasts damaged by earth attacks will have their speed reduced, and ice beasts damaged by fire will temporarily become water-type.

The best part is that glitter attacks will cause any target to temporarily become glitter-type, and a glitter beast will temporarily copy the type of any move it’s struck by.
