Hiei’s story from Yu Yu Hakusho is probably my favorite. To be born with flames so strong that he couldn’t even be held, to be cast out as a cursed child, to hold that resentment close to his heart for years only to have it tempered by a stone that draws out the hatred of its wearer -- it’s a poetic example of how (justified) rage can be neutralized, something I am still struggling with due to my own trauma. For me, Hiei’s story is one of hope.
But hope don’t feed a bitch! Help a sista out by buying this as a, oh I don’t know, a coaster set, phone case, or whatever you want on my society6!

I just finished the episodes on Hiei’s backstory, and I can’t deal with how much I am here for Hiei. I’m just saying, spite is a poWERFUL motivator yall! I mean, comin’ out the womb promising death to all that hated him? Shit’s inspiring.

Yusuke is so G, I can't! I just finished season 3, and when he chased after his boy Kuwabara on a bike??!! Iconic. (Also, friendly reminder to any YYH fan who wants to rp that I need an outlet for my overwhelming love of this anime, so don't be shy!)
