If you are a huge doctor who nerd you need to go read "we're gonna be bigger than star wars" from doctor who magazine 279 in 1999 here right now - where they interview a bunch of doctor who writers and fans about how they would bring back the show - including RTD and Steven Moffat! Alongside others

If you're a mild doctor who fan, then read these highlights (mainly from Russell cause he was the one who actually brought it back):

Russell: "The key ingredient is death. I'm not being all bleak here, I mean in that great, fabulous, thriller way. Literally hiding behind the softa stuff. Brilliantly scary.
"There's such a great sense of danger ticking away underneath all the time. Death stalks Doctor Who in every single scene, and I love it for that."

I saw some people taking this quote from Boom and claiming it as a hint for Suhtek's return and story; I mean, they're not wrong, but I don't think this was Russell's plan in 1999!

Steven: "Although I loved Peter Davison and Paul McGann - probably the two best actors in the role - I don't think young, dashing Doctors are right at all. The Doctor should always be a bit more Picard and bit less Kirk. He should be 40-plus and weird-looking - the kind of wacky grandfather that kids ..." (The rest of the quote is cut off)

From the man who casts the youngest doctor ever.

A quote from Russell: "Oh, just talked myself out of it, there! That's one of the problems with fan writers making their..."

RTD, on if he'd be a part of the show if it came back!

A quote from Russell: "and if I was one of the writers, then I'd keep my own adventure on Earth. the main takeaway here is that RTD absolutely knew what he was getting himself into when he started this thing.
