I Was Actually Using This To Explain To My Sister How The Love Triangle Was A Metaphor About How Katniss
I was actually using this to explain to my sister how the love triangle was a metaphor about how Katniss will move on from everything, the generational trauma, the trauma from her sister's death, and the hunger games, and the people she has loved. And how she has to choose between letting it consume her and keep fighting everything, or to choose to grow and heal.
How Gale leaves, chooses a job different from his home district, he was always a hunter, he wanted to kill district 2 in retaliation for 12's treatment. But Peeta was always a baker, becomes a painter, creates things doesn't destroy, returns home and starts rebuilding, shows Katniss love all throughout the games despite the violent nature of the games, he's against the Final Games using kids of the rich and powerful.
I could go on and on about this, but just the way Gale is so filled with anger and physically fights for so much, but Peeta's rebellion has always been telling Katniss about the bombing on TV, announcing the baby in an interview, painting Rue. Peeta's rebellion was one of choosing kindness and not allowing himself to be forced into hate and tearing things down.
Something that I will never get over and still tear up thinking about is Peeta’s return in the end of the series and he’s planting flowers for Prim… in a post war, destructed, ugly and tarnished district 12 his first thought was to plant flowers

I have this AU where Lily doesnt die but is in a coma instead. It basically centers around Lily and Lou’s relationship when they were younger(eg. how they met and their dynamic etc) and how Lou, Lily and Cole deal with all the conversations they didnt have before she went under. Like how shes proud of who Cole became and is simultaneously proud of Lou for surviving/taking care of Cole when she wasnt there even though he wasnt that good of a father(’course she doesnt know that, Cole and Lou wont tell her that).
idk lol i havent written anything for it and i just like imagining stuff. feel free to add anything to it, i want to see what everyone else is doing
This is kind of a tangent, but here I go:
I feel like a lot of widely known books, movies, and tv shows have this kind of trope of something which inflicts pain or suffering of some kind, and frequently, it's not a tangible thing. I haven't thought this through, so please bear with me. A lot use some form of trauma flashbacks or ptsd, but also: Harry Potter, the crucio (?) curse; Keeper of the Lost Cities, ptsd, flashbacks, and the Ability to Inflict; The Hunger Games, ptsd, plus undescribed tech (i think) and some random triggers like the birds screaming in Catching Fire; Carmen Sandiego (Netflix), fictional technology;
You see where I'm going with this? There's this kind of trope with vague but pointed suffering. For vengestone to take that role makes sense to me, here are some general headcanons about how vengestone affects Lloyd:
As he gets closer (maybe starting at around a mile away) he starts to feel gravity more, like he weighs more and everything takes more energy.
Ways that manifests itself:
Walking slower
Slower reflexes
Talks less
More grumpy
Snaps at the others more
Also as he gets closer, he starts feeling physically sick
Getting sniffly
Coughing
Achey
Slightly higher temperature (until they're really close and then it's really bad)
Headaches
Really really close and he starts hallucinating, chills, dizzy, passing out, maybe this is just covid?
Maybe he kinda becomes the canary in a coal mine? Because everyone else's signs are more subtle, each of them just kinda feeling off, but Lloyd getting sick as they're walking?? Nah.
When dealing with vengestone, they also have to be more careful because Lloyd can't fight well Under The Influence and because he's already kinda sick, so injuries will take longer to heal later.
man I know a lot of us have individual headcanons for how vengestone affects certain elements right
Jay feeling like his element is built up and trying to burst out, Kai feeling as though the fire inside him has snuffed completely, Cole feeling cut off from the earth itself etc. etc. but I don’t see much about Lloyd
And yeah Lloyd’s true “element” is up for debate but I usually work under the assumption that Lloyd is the element of Life and Energy itself and man
Doesn’t it seem like that element in particular would not do well with vengestone
Don’t you think if someone who’s element is life itself is suddenly, forcibly, unnaturally cut off from said element…
Don’t you think they’d get sick
I mean we saw what happened when Lloyd felt cut off from his power in season 8. He got sick. He was almost dying. He literally needed the other elements that make up his power to lend him some of their own or else he would have died
I just think that’s verrrrrry interesting, don’t you? :)

I lost every friendship I ever had and it still hurts.

He absolutely would have said nasty things without knowing what he was talking about, or outright saying things he knew were messed up just so he could avoid being a target.
It's also possible that without people purposefully showing him how to be kind, or understand...anything really, then its possible he said hateful things knowing what they meant and knowing he could/was hurting people and that as he spends more time with the ninja, his ideas and opinions change and he realizes he doesnt want to hurt people anymore. He doesnt hate people anymore. He wants to help others. And he becomes the green ninja. And knowing how it felt to want to hurt makes him better suited for dealing with villains like Harumi whose goal is to hurt like she was hurt.

he was definitely homophobic at some point

Incredible new thing happening with Elon today: he fired a disabled Twitter engineer for prima facie discriminatory reasons, trashed talked the ex-employee on Twitter and then discovered this employee came to Twitter by way of an acquisition of that employee's software start up and the sale contains a clause that if Twitter terminates his employment it has to pay him 100 million for the software he developed. The fact Elon Musk might have to personally sell of Tesla stock to meet this obligation has caused Tesla's share price to dip yet again.
Also Musk deleted his tweet trashing the employee but it's preserved and being reposted by multiple Twitter users, at least until Musk can figure out a way to nuke the screen grabs from orbit.
