Peeta And Katniss - Tumblr Posts

“Katniss is only focused on survival” yes? but … also … no? like, she’s willing to give her life away for the people she loves in a whole heartbeat that’s why she volunteers for Prim that’s why she takes out the nightlock it’s why she wants Peeta to win the Quell … Katniss IS a survivor that’s essential to her character, but she’s also deeply sacrificial

and while I’m on it, I find it ironic that Katniss was popularly portrayed as “I don’t have time for love, Peeta! I am fighting a war!” when in reality Mockingjay is just like a lot of Katniss going, “I don’t have time for this war: I want Peeta back!”

You’re ready to raise your child on your own, that is, until the 20-something pastry chef flirts his way into your heart, messing up the perfect little life you worked so hard to have for yourself.

A/N: The story that kept me afloat the past few weeks is here! I got an ask a few months ago from @rodejeon about what I think of single mom OC bc we always get single dad jk and I said the first thing I thought of was Leslie Mann’s character in How to Be Single. So that was my inspiration for this - successful woman, flirty younger man - but more.

It’s a little different than what I’m used to writing but I hope you don’t get put off by all the fluff and flirting. Blame instagram and vlive JK. But I just srsly wanted to feel happy and that’s what this story makes me feel. Also features all our favorite men (w/ wooga squad cameo) and an adorable little one whom I fell in love with as well 😍 Please watch out!

That scene is so sweet and pure in the middle of so much chaos and depression.

But also there weren't cameras and mics there, right? So how did it affect the hijacking?

"cave scene this" "beach scene that"

WHY DO WE NEVER TALK ABOUT THE ROOF PICNIC SCENE!!!

Remember when Gale said he found Peeta’s homicidal thoughts that were drilled and tortured into him and turned him into an entirely different person “so relatable~!” because he also felt like strangling and killing Katniss when he saw her kissing Peeta?

More of a whole fandom thing, less of a ship thing, but here's what I've got for one line to tell you what it is:

"real or not real?" "real."

"where did you get that magnet, Lily?"

"You'll get married, Jo. (...) And I'll watch."

"What if they say, 'get outta here, kid! you got no future!' I mean, I just don't think I could take that kind of rejection!"

"Of all the gin joints in the world, she walks into mine."

"The game is on."

"I wish I had a million dollars. Hot dog!"

"It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife."

"A word which here means..."

"inconceivable!"

"Comparing my intellect to a broken cigarette lighter...that's an interesting mix of poetry and meaness."

"I don't want diamond sunbursts or marble halls. I just want you."

"Stay with me." "Always."

"Leave the gun, take the cannoli."

"Get me a glass of milk! Chocolate!"

"So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past.”

"Can you hear it? Can you hear the ticking or the clocks, Goncharov?"

I was actually using this to explain to my sister how the love triangle was a metaphor about how Katniss will move on from everything, the generational trauma, the trauma from her sister's death, and the hunger games, and the people she has loved. And how she has to choose between letting it consume her and keep fighting everything, or to choose to grow and heal.

How Gale leaves, chooses a job different from his home district, he was always a hunter, he wanted to kill district 2 in retaliation for 12's treatment. But Peeta was always a baker, becomes a painter, creates things doesn't destroy, returns home and starts rebuilding, shows Katniss love all throughout the games despite the violent nature of the games, he's against the Final Games using kids of the rich and powerful.

I could go on and on about this, but just the way Gale is so filled with anger and physically fights for so much, but Peeta's rebellion has always been telling Katniss about the bombing on TV, announcing the baby in an interview, painting Rue. Peeta's rebellion was one of choosing kindness and not allowing himself to be forced into hate and tearing things down.

Something that I will never get over and still tear up thinking about is Peeta’s return in the end of the series and he’s planting flowers for Prim… in a post war, destructed, ugly and tarnished district 12 his first thought was to plant flowers

Also the way they're talking tells her so much. Like, Gale and peeta both know gale's issues, so he's not really hiding anything from peeta, so Katniss hearing his objectification of her and his tophization (not a word, but) of her speaks volumes to her. Meanwhile peetas over there like Well whoever is best for her 👍👍

My favorite part of the Hunger Games books was when Peeta and Gale were having a chat about who will Katniss choose and she was there listening like the audacity, I don't need either one of you bitchess

Is there significance to the presidents Snow and Coin's names?

Like everyone else has very last name-y names, Everdeen, Mellark, Hawthorne. But Snow and Coin are both things. Like I guess it could be an example of corrupted names, like Peeta being Peter. But I could also see it having to do with like, the phrase "clean as snow", or Coin's view of people.

Thoughts? Or is this maybe just over analyzing?

Okay also, the woman never injures the other person, which implies women are weak and can't hurt someone whether or not they are trying, and it implies that it's okay to use violence so long as you're a woman and you care about them, which is kind of a mix of sexism and reverse sexism (by which I mean sexism against women vs sexism against men, but obviously everyone is harmed by any form of gender discrimination etc)

And the male version of these scenes is guys shaking the female (imo) because men can't hit women and be good guys, so media loopholes that by using shaking instead of hitting.

Oh and also Grey's anatomy. Multiple occurrences and people.

Women hitting people in movies and books.

(This has been bouncing around in my head for a while but it's not like cohesive thoughts, so apologies)

There are the Molly Wesleys (Harry Potter), the Aunt Cass' (Big Hero 6, specifically after they get arrested), Katniss Everdeens (The Hunger Games, especially at the end of the first book), and I know there are more but that's just off the top off my head.

There are these scenes where the woman gets so upset, usually because she's worried about someone, and hits the person. It never injures them, but she hits them and saying something like "how could you do this!! I was so worried about you!!" And it's played as just a sign of their concern and it's no big deal. But like ??

I haven't really come to a conclusion on where I stand on this, but it feels wrong. Like, it's not violence because they actually love the person??

Also please reblog because I have like 5 followers and I want more opinions 👍👍

Is it canon or reasonable to think Gale was glad Peeta got captured? So that he'd be out of the way?

I know we know gale was angry when he saw Kat and Pete together, but did he dehumanize peeta enough to be grateful for his capture?

Gale worrying about Finnick and Katniss liking eachother- meanwhile the two of them have people on stand by to sedate them and are just aggressively knotting their shared therapy rope while they talk about Peeta and Annie in between naps

Watching HG Catching Fire: maybe it's just me, but it feels so rushed and forced.

And why is the convo between Peeta, Katniss, and Haymitch (after the victory stop in district 11) so so rushed? Like there is so much content in the book, and if I hadn't read it I would have no idea what was going on.

And why is Kat always seeing little bits of what's going on through cracks in the doorway?? Why do people leave the doors open a little bit??

I loved the books but man oh man I will nitpick these movies.

The fact that they removed the older peacekeepers I'm D12, the ones that are there when Gale is getting beaten, and they're like, yeah no you've whipped him a lot. And those people were just cut out??

And Gale is conscious for like, all of it??

And Katniss' cuts are so mild?? And she doesn't get sent away to her room??

Also I hate the nickname Katnip so so much it's horrid.

Prim's Old Soul Wisdom TM is actually annoying to me. I don't really like her, cause she's so stilted.

"You could live a hundred lifetimes, and never deserve that boy." Gets me every time.

Every time I see gale, I feel like puking. How was anyone ever Team Gale??

Effie is incredible. The fact that she seems totally aloof and stupid, but is actually so in tune with everything but covers it all up and pretends not to notice. Like what happened to her to make her this way ??

All of the training in D12 got cut out??

And so much time with her styling team got cut out ugh

It was an absolute crime that THG were made into movies not a TV series.

The whole movie is so scene after scene, no transition. There is so little flow, it's all disjointed.

It doesn't make sense for peeta to be walking out just as Kat walks in for individual assessment?? And the painting is covered and she uncovers it in the books.

It's so hard to get into Taylor Swift's Eras tour, how hard would it be to be an audience member at the Victor interviews??

The fact that after Johanna GOES OFF (as she should) Caeser says "well thats one woman's opinion" as if he can downplay something like that.

"Snow made me wear it" actually makes sense in the books. The movie totally ignores all of the wedding dress stuff.

The wings on the dress don't make practical sense.

If the quarter quell had been canceled for the baby, then Katniss would have had to actually get pregnant so she could keep up the show and not have to go into the games.
