Surprise, surprise! It’s a continuation of the previous SCP chapter! It’s a bit weird! I usually don’t do direct sequels to a previous chapter in my episodic fics.

I’m always a sucker for having non-human characters do non-human things. It’s so fun! I have no limits!

Uh… yeah, I can’t think of much else to say. So go for it!

Hajime couldn’t say he was very surprised that Nagizuru didn’t take very long to understand how video games worked. Not only that, but to completely dominate the room.

Chiaki didn’t seem to mind one bit, actually looking to enjoy the challenge of someone on her level. So she and Nagizuru competed with genuine smiles on their faces, while the three other humans watched in awe.

“Someone’s… not only keeping pace with Chiaki… but beating her? I must be dreaming,” Kazuichi muttered, running a hand through his pink hair.

Fuyuhiko nodded, his eyes widened in a rare display of surprise. “Never did I imagine this occurring.” He then elbowed Hajime with a grin. “You appear to have found something really special! Good work!”

Hajime laughed as he rubbed his arms. “Yeah, he certainly is special, in more ways than one.” Idly, the brunette wondered what their reaction would be if they learned the truth. If they knew they were in the same room as an extremely dangerous entity, would they be this relaxed? It was easy to reach that answer, which solidified his decision to keep it all under wraps. And by the way Nagizuru’s smile crooked up on one side, he knew the SCP had heard his thoughts. So they were in agreement. Good.

More time passed, several hours in fact. And Hajime enjoyed them all, overjoyed at being close to his friends and family again.

But as it always went, all good things come to an end. This was no different, as Kazuichi and Fuyuhiko had to leave to eat dinner with their families. Chiaki decided to stay for the Hinata’s dinner, sitting on one side of Hajime at the table while Nagizuru took the other. The brunette was surrounded by those he cared most about. It had been utter bliss.

But again, things wrapped up too soon. Dinner was finished and cleaned up, which meant it was probably time to go. Hajime wasn’t sure how long the security breach at the foundation’s facility would last, so it was vital they get back soon. His voice was heavy with reluctance as he said, “It’s getting late. Sadly, we can’t stay the night. We have to return to our workplace. But thank you for tonight. It was a lot of fun.”

His parents and Chiaki looked a bit sad, but were understanding. “I see. Well, come visit again when you get the chance! You can let us know or surprise us again! We look forward to repeating this,” Mr. Hinata told him.

Mrs. Hinata hugged her son tight. “You be careful in getting back. Especially tonight. There’s been reports of a violent gang who is riding through town. Avoid them at all costs.”

“We’ll be careful. I’ll send you a letter when we get back. Love you both,” Hajime replied as he and Nagizuru headed to the front door.

“I’ll walk with you!” Chiaki piped up, getting her bag and joining him and the SCP in the doorway.

“Keep them safe, Chiaki!” Mr. Hinata said with a grin, he and his wife waving as the trio walked away from the cozy home and into the dark streets.

Once far enough away, Nagizuru spoke up. “You have quite a wonderful family. I am more than pleased with my interactions and experiences today. It has been one of the more domestic times I’ve had in eons.”

Hajime had to remind himself that Chiaki knew about the entity’s non-human status, holding back the flinch. “Really? Well, I’m glad you had fun too. Maybe we can get some video games at our place for you to entertain yourself with.”

Nagizuru grinned. “You are far more entertaining to me than all of life’s pleasures combined. I’ll stick with our current situation. Though I will commend you for slyly attempting to provide a distraction. But I stand resolute on you maintaining my complete attention.”

Hajime groaned, letting his head roll forward. “It was worth a shot.”

Chiaki giggled next to him. “He’s very attached. Almost like a puppy.”

“Yeah, a catastrophe level puppy,” he added on.

Nagizuru’s smile widened. “Why, if you wanted me to be a puppy, all you had to do was ask!” He slipped away from them briefly, going into an alleyway and disappearing from sight. But just a few seconds later, a tiny white husky puppy waddled out, tail wagging and red eyes wide.

Chiaki squealed, kneeling down to pet the fuzzy head. “You can transform? So adorable. Hajime really is lucky to have you around.”

“I still believe myself to be the lucky one in the scenario. But your words are appreciated,” the entity said in their minds. The puppy then looked over to Hajime. “Now, please pick me up and carry me. These small legs are not strong enough! I need a savior!”

Rolling his eyes, Hajime did as requested. “You certainly chose the correct breed. Dramatic,” he commented as he booped the tiny snout.

Nagizuru wiggled around in his arms so that his belly and paws were facing up. “But you love it. Don’t deny it.”

“Fine, fine. Anyways, let’s get to the park behind the library. We can take the alleyway shortcut,” he declared, moving the cosmic puppy into one arm and holding hands with his best friend. “Nagizuru can teleport you to your home once we get there. That okay with you?” he asked her.

Chiaki nodded. “Teleportation. That sure sounds handy. I wish I could do that.”

The two humans entered the cramped alley, wandering through in a well practiced fashion. “I can confirm it’s nice. But I also like walking around with you like we did as kids. It’s fun.”

The alleys were long and maze-like, but that didn’t worry the two. They had navigated these routes several times when they were younger. So their pace was unhurried and peaceful.

Until Nagizuru’s small body stiffened and he began growling.

That confused Hajime. “What’s wrong? Is something there?” he whispered, staring down the path they were about to take. The puppy only growled louder, wiggling and jumping down out of his arms. “Something’s wrong,” he told Chiaki, pulling her close to him as they scanned around.

After a few moments, various footsteps echoed around them. And in the dim lighting, the pair realized that they were surrounded by unfamiliar people in matching vests. The violent gang his mom had warned them about.

“Dogs are so annoying. They ruin everything. Well, it’ll be fun tossing it into the lake once we finish with you two,” the closest man said, lighting up a cigarette now that he didn’t have to worry about staying hidden.

Another flicked open their switchblade, the metal shining in the moonlight. “Let’s have some fun tonight. And feel free to scream all you want.”

Hajime felt calm, not at all intimidated. “I’d actually suggest that to you. But I’ll be kind and try to warn you. Leave us alone, or else I can’t guarantee your safety.”

One behind them laughed. “You really think you stand a chance against us?”

“Her? No. Me? Definitely not. But it’s not just us. But Nagizuru, don’t kill them. I’d rather this night not be tainted,” Hajime stated, looking down at the husky at his feet.

“I understand. Though don’t expect me to go easy on them,” the entity’s voice echoed in everyone’s heads. The gang looked around, clearly confused by the sudden new voice. Then the puppy began growing in size, surpassing them all in height in no time and positioning himself overtop of Hajime and Chiaki. The soft puppy features grew sharper and narrower, shifting into a wolf with needle sharp teeth. In addition, three more heads sprouted out of the wolf’s back, one for each alleyway surrounding them. The red eyes swirled as the creature’s mouths grinned far wider than a normal wolf. “You have made a grave mistake tonight. Now suffer the consequences.”

The gang all collapsed to their knees as they stared into the red eyes, mouths open in a terrified scream but no sound coming out. Then one by one, they fell to the ground, their bodies vanishing into thin air. Soon, every single one was gone.

“As requested, I did not end them. But I did scramble their minds some and teleported them to a very remote town far away from here. They won’t recall this town or anything that happened in it.” The wolf stepped back, all four heads rotating to look at the humans.

“Thank you.” Hajime then looked over to his friend, seeing her only slightly impressed face. “Why am I not surprised that you aren’t blown away by the sight of this shapeshifting cosmic monster?”

Chiaki shrugged. “Not the craziest design I’ve seen. Some games I’ve played are far more gorey and twisted. This isn’t too bad in comparison.”

“Video games. Right.”

“Oh? Perhaps video games require more investigation. I can expand my horizons and conjure up new possibilities,” Nagizuru said as he shifted back to human form. “I shall look into this more. Hajime, you will help me with this.” The entity then lunged forward, hugging the brunette tight.

“Ack! Warn me next time before doing that!” Hajime groaned as he patted the sea of white hair in front of him. “Anyways, I think we should go ahead and teleport home. Make sure Chiaki gets back safe first. Then we can relax in our place.”

“Okay.” Nagizuru turned his head to look at Chiaki. “It was a pleasure to meet you. I am sure our paths will cross again.”

The woman nodded. “Same to you. Next time, I’ll introduce you to some more games that we can play.” Then she vanished, teleported back to her home.

A second later, Hajime found himself back in their own room in the facility. And as they did, a broadcast was being announced. Repeat, containment breach has concluded. All entities successfully contained. Please resume normal activities.

“We made it. No one suspects a thing, right?” Hajime asked as he felt himself get pushed onto the bed.

Nagizuru snuggled close, burying his face into the crook of Hajime’s neck. “No one came in or asked about us. We are safe. And our secret outing remains as such.”

The human sighed, head relaxing against the pillow. “By the way, thank you. For… everything today. Not just saving us from the gang. But… letting me see my friends and family again.”

Nagizuru opened one ruby eye. “Of course! I was more than happy to do as such.” The eye closed again. “Now sleep. It’s been a long day.”

Hajime laughed a bit, but closed his eyes as well, drifting off with a smile on his face.

The Queen Of Light And The Lord Of Darkness

The Queen of Light and the Lord of Darkness

From my fic Sunshine and Shadows, here comes the most powerful spirits! From the pov of some random traveler who encountered them in the woods at night. Bet they had the shock of a lifetime.

Anyways! This was done by the wonderful and amazing @hajihiko! I’ve wanted to commission them for a long time now and I was thrilled beyond belief when I was given the opportunity! And my goodness, it’s gorgeous! They captured exactly what I envisioned. Please go look at their stuff if you haven’t already. Their style is so pleasing to the eye.

And if you want to see where these two are from, here’s a link to the fic! Have a great day!!!
