• Addison grew up with a single mother and the two were as close as could be. Of course, Addison spent many nights wondering about her father and there was always a sense of missing out, but it was hard to miss someone you never truly had and her mother was more than enough. Supportive of every dream, big or small.

• And dreams she had, always, from a very young age. They ranged from normal to downright outrageous, but the one that always stuck was to be a singer. Addison was practically singing before she even spoke. Always ready to put in a musical performance at the drop of a hat no matter the time or place.

• Addison was somewhat popular in high school but she was often made fun of for having such big aspirations. However, she never let anyone bring her down, and it was in her late teens that she really started to keep her mother on her toes, between first crushes and sneaking out with the latest cowboy who made her heart flutter. But she always found herself so easily bored and in search of something new.

• Things would take a drastic change when her mother met someone and fell in love, and she'd be torn from the place she called home and thrust into a new life, one of glitz and glam and wealth. A man of millions who, quite frankly, wasn't fond of addison at all. But he did give her free reign of his credit cards in hope it would keep her out of the way as often as possible. Due to this Addison lost sight of herself, becoming a downright brat. Life since has been filled with fake friends and people trying to take advantage. Though these days she's beginning to open her eyes back up and see that there is way more to life and hopes to get back to the person she used to be.

• A girl who acts like she has the confidence of a lion, but at her core has been hurt very badly by people who were supposed to lift her up. Truly desires to be really seen, and to have someone understand her. But often the attitude she's developed to keep her heart safe can make that difficult.

• If she doesn’t tell you what she’s thinking, her face will most certainly tell you. She is very expressive and doesn’t hold much back. Best to be honest, right ?

• Is super good at impressions. Like so good !

he blinks. once, twice. wide smile fixing itself in place when he registers teddy before him. confusion crinkling features. “ i wouldn’t know how to flirt, ” he retorts instantly, and it may be the truest thing he’s ever said. “ i got distracted by the jello shots and i may have accidentally ended up having ten. . . more than ten. eleven and half because i spit one out when i realized it was watermelon flavoured. ” he’s taking, fast, as he usually tends to do. too focused to realize his hand is yet to let go of hers. “ well that depends on how socially acceptable it is for me to walk around looking like spider-man at a beach party. ”

"oh my goodness, i've been looking for you EVERYWHERE!" teddy practically shouts as she grabs ace's hands. "you've been flirting around this party leaving me high and dry, or what? starting to think i'm not so important to you..." teddy lets out a small huff before taking a deep breath. "whatever. i saw a face painter somewhere-- what do you say?"

“ i was about to bring you one, ” he insists, and it’s partially true. had been his intention before he’d gotten easily distracted. “ i was just testing them out first, you know, so i could bring you the best one. which is the cherry cola, by the way. naturally. ” coincidentally also his slushie flavour of choice. head shakes, wide grin in place as he glances across at her. “ you’re never too old to be a unicorn. besides, you’d make the prettiest unicorn in all of palmview. ” compliment rolls off his tongue with ease, and he thinks earlier words over, lips slightly pursed. “ now what small, non-harmful crime could one spider and a unicorn who is very important to him possibly commit together ? ”

"so many lies, such little time," teddy says with a shake of her head. a sigh escapes her lips as he goes on and on about jello. "and you didn't think to bring me one? extra hurtful, considering you also haven't said i am indeed important to you..." she drops their hands and goes to link their arms instead so they can start moving forward. "i'd say pretty acceptable... even more acceptable if you plan on committing a small crime and not getting caught. what do you think i should get? does a unicorn sound fun or too kiddy?"

• Ace grew up in south Philadelphia with his mother and father until the age of seven, when after years of a toxic relationship his father left and never came back ( he'd later come to find there was another, secret family ). Ace struggled with the abandonment throughout his life, but was lucky enough to have his grandfather who was more of a parent to him than anyone else could ever be. Through his grandfather he discovered his love and talent for art, and began to use it as his form of escapism. It was his saving grace during his turbulent teenage years. He would definitely have derailed had it not been for art and the worlds he made in the comfort of his room.

• His mother was loving in her own way during his childhood, but was always driven by materialistic possessions that she couldn’t afford. Her job as bartender just wouldn’t cut it, and she began to gamble. But after a few wins, she found herself hooked on the feeling and soon developed an addiction that grew out of control. Ace had to take on two jobs before he was finished with high school just to help pay off her debts which left him drained to the point that he struggled to keep up. He sank into deep depression and found it hard to get out.

• Despite this, she continued to try and live lavishly behind his back while he was on the verge of a mental breakdown due to how many things he had to juggle at once. By the time he graduated high school, he’d grown to resent her completely and she continued to put her addiction, and boyfriends, above him. They have no relationship at this present time and he has no current desire to ever see her again.

• Leaving for college ( which his grandfather had paid for ), he gained a dual-degree in graphic design and animation and built his way up in the business, taking a good few hits before finally landing his dream job working in film and tv, online content, as well as comics. He genuinely loves his job and it’s probably the one aspect of his life he’s completely happy with. He is very creative and has several little worlds inside his head.

• He travelled for years, moving at least every six months before finally settling in palmview in attempt to build some kind of solid life, but so far the only part he’s got right is raising a a crazy pup named charlie.

HEADCANNONS

• he never sleeps before 2am and never wakes before 10am. he will literally be acting like it’s the middle of the day in the middle of the night.

• he’s a terrible cook. he can heat things up and make basic stuff, but overall he’s kinda hopeless. someone help him.

• he drinks way too much coffee, and too often occasionally too much whiskey and beer. randomly likes to get high a few times a month if he needs a little help falling asleep. will be seen with sunglasses on constantly to hide how hungover he is.

• before he realized his mothers addiction he would often take trips with her as a young boy to vegas or places alike ( most of, but not all, his time was spent waiting for her in hotel rooms ) so he’s actually very skilled at playing poker because she taught him how to play. but ace hates to gamble. his mothers love of poker is where his name came from.

• during his time travelling he’s spent a lot of time sleeping in his car ( when he wasn’t abroad ) and he actually really enjoys the outdoors. likes to hike with his pup. also is likely to end up with a million dogs.

• he has a small ace of spades tattoo on the inside of his middle finger on his left hand, he got it as a dare when he was drunk at seventeen. he hates it, but he’ll never get rid of it. he also has a fingers crossed tattoo on his right forearm, and a melting smiley face on his right index finger. more tbh he has at least ten. random tattoo supremacy. i'll add more when i can think.

• aside from his cartoons, he also loves to paint, sketch, play around with pottery and just get as creative as possible with anything artistic whatsoever. it's his safe space, his own form of therapy in a way. though he doesn’t let many people see the results as somehow they feel a lot more personal than his cartoon/animation work.
