(i mean masochist in a nonsexual way for this btw.) trigger warnings: self harm, bad self talk, general bad mental health

Whumpee loves scars and visible injuries, and also the idea of attention for their marks

they wish they were worse. more injured, more traumatized, just generally more hurt

they feel like they deserve to be hurt

sometimes they consider doing things to hurt themself

they feel very sad and maybe panicky if their scars start to fade (they might do things to try to make them stay.. maybe pick at the scabs while the injury is still healing)

they fantasize about being horrifically injured and traumatized

they find pain very interesting. they often enjoy just spectating or analyzing any pain they’re in. for example if they’re on their period and having cramps, even if they have access to medicine they might just intentionally not get any

they enjoy looking at their blood, bruises, and scars. they look at their scars a lot after they’ve healed, and probably wish they had more. or, if the scars aren’t terribly visible, wish that they were more visible and plot how to make the next ones worse.

they feel really bad when they need help

they also feel really bad if they fuck up even the tiniest amount

they also feel really bad if they show weakness. if they get tired, if they’re upset about something small, if they think they’re being dramatic

they are MEAN to themself. internally telling themself that they’re ugly, dramatic, a horrible person

the permanent sense of guilt

..is it bad that i’m kinda Whumpee here?? 😅 all of these are just my experiences.. O_o

small appreciation post for collapsing while still conscious

ok as much as i love a good faint im also a huge sucker for when a character collapses but is still conscious, maybe just dizzy or weak

stumbling or tripping on something and falling to their knees, too weak to stand up again

weak from fever or low blood sugar and failing to get out of a chair, lying on their back or side while the dizziness subsides (i actually had a fic planned for this at one point)

slumping into a chair because they cant stand anymore

reaching out to a table or wall for support and sliding to the floor (!!!)

sitting on the floor already but they slump to the side out of exhaustion

that thing where they throw their arm across their eyes out of exhaustion or dizziness (honestly one of my favorites)

I'm always a sucker for injury reveals, but one of my favorite kind is when the injury is revealed to the person who’s hurt. They could already feel the pain-

-or maybe they couldn’t. Maybe the drugs have kept the worst at bay. Maybe they were in shock before, their mind protecting them from the worst of it. Or maybe they’re just used to pain. Maybe it’s easier to downplay what you can’t see-

-but then they finally. See it. See the damage. Peel back the bandages. Finally look at themselves in the mirror. In the photos that were taken for evidence. In the video that was taken when it happened. They see the raw manifest of their trauma. The bruises when they were fresh. The bruising bloomed across their skin now that they’re safe and it’s been a few days. The poorly knitted together cuts still red and inflamed while their body attempts to fight off infection. The swelling around their eye, when they’d grown used to their vision being impaired by now. The splints around their fingers. Their skin mottled and scraped and just. Damaged. Whenever someone tries to help them wash up.

They finally see themselves in the mirror for how they are. Hurt. Damaged. Ruined.

And it’s almost impossible to believe that this isn’t how they’ll look for the rest of their lives. That this isn’t what the people they love will see from now on every time they look at them. Even if they heal, this? This is forever now, and maybe it was inevitable that it would always come to this

They’ve always been a hurt thing. Now the outside matches the inside

One of my absolute favorite tropes is “We have taken the one you love most!” “Oh, have you? Good fukken luck lmao” *distant screams of kidnappers as loved one escapes* or the flipside: “We’ve kidnapped you!” “You are in so much trouble. You are in so much fucking trouble. You are in the most trouble ever, oh my god.” *DOOR EXPLODES INWARDS AS LOVED ONE ARRIVES* and the alternate: *vehicle pulls up, door opens, person is shoved out, door slams, vehicle screeches away* “Did you get kidnapped??” “For a minute yeah”

Recovering whumpee being forced to go back to their former whumper and beg for their help-- maybe because they need whumper's skill-set, or maybe because no one but whumper would believe the situation that they're in.
