The First Time Bucky And Tony Saw Each Other, It Was Hate At First Sight. There Was No Other Explanation

The first time Bucky and Tony saw each other, it was hate at first sight. There was no other explanation for the way their hearts beat quicker, the way their breath grew shorter, the way it felt like they had been hit by lightning.

(It certainly wasn't attraction, couldn't be. It wasn't a desire to experience what those lips tasted like, how those strong hands would feel, the heights they could take each other to. No way.)

Since then, their rivalry had become legendary at the Marvel Bakery. They both tried to outdo the other with gorgeous creations. It had to be bigger, better, fancier.

(And it was rivalry. It wasn't a scream for the other to notice me, smile at me, care about me.)

There were bets among their colleagues, though they weren't aware of those. They were too busy competing, fighting, arguing. In the end, it happened during one of their frequent disagreements. They were yelling, heartbeat quickening, eyes flaring with spite (not with passion, of course not), getting closer, closer, closer.

And then they were kissing and they couldn't get close enough to one another.

Their colleagues hadn't been expecting to want to go back to when they thought they hated one another. Working in a bakery involved plenty of sugar, but they were all certain it was Bucky and Tony who would be giving them cavities in the end.

A short ficlet for @winterironmonth, filling SFW Friday - Word: Homesick and Dialogue/Sentence: “Just shut up and kiss me, you idiot.”. Hope you enjoy!

Tony's homesickness had always been more about the people than the places. At seven, he'd missed Jarvis terribly, to the point of silently crying himself to sleep. At nineteen, despite the fact that Rhodey had been the one to leave for the Air Force, he'd drowned his loneliness in alcohol and people who didn't care for him at all.

He'd thought he'd gotten better at it since then. Thought he'd gotten over the nausea and the restlessness and the feeling of desolation.

And then he'd gotten into a relationship with Bucky, and it had started happening again. When he'd have to go on a business trip, or when Bucky was off doing missions, the loneliness returned again. It made it near impossible to sleep properly, leaving him exhausted and even more miserable.

Which, overall, was doable. Tony's schedule had never been the most consistent, and with enough coffee he could hide it very well.

But there had been a business trip, and Bucky had been called on a mission before he'd returned, and it had been over a week without a proper night's rest. And even for Tony, that was... too much.

So he was near-delirious when Bucky finally did return, manic and bouncing on far too many cups of coffee.

"You're home!" He just about jumped into Bucky's arms, and it was a good thing Bucky was prepared for him or he'd have fallen flat on the floor due to miscalculating the distance just a little. "I missed you! Just a healthy amount, of course, nothing to worry about at all, it's just weird when you're not here but I'm fine and just don't ask JARVIS how much I've slept because I'm pretty sure you'd be worried about that and I don't want you to be worried, because you just got home..."

Bucky, smiling down at him fondly, pressed a single finger to his lips. "Just shut up and kiss me, you idiot."

That was a brilliant idea, and Tony happily brushed his lips against Bucky's. And once more. And again. And with every kiss, he felt the tension ease a little more, until he was just leaning against his partner.

"Yeah, let's go for a nap," Bucky murmured, but it hardly even registered anymore.

Sighing happily, Tony let himself fall asleep in Bucky’s arms.

Finally, he was home.

There wasn't much Tony had that was truly his, but this was one of them. Until he noticed Bucky struggling and decided to help.

2. what’s your feel-good movie?

I had feel-good movies when I was younger (for example, I watched Miss Congeniality probably 10 times when I was home with a concussion), but nowadays it’s mostly fics. Still, Legally Blonde and Disney movies are easy contenders, but so are some oddball disaster movies, because apparently I like seeing the world destroyed when I’m not feeling well xD I’ll also watch some Try Guys videos because they make me laugh.

23. favorite piece of clothing?

There’s plenty of clothing that I like a lot, especially since I recently Marie Kondo’d myself through my closet last month. A lot of those are for occasions, though. In the end, it’s probably the super soft, fluffy, dark purple housecoat I found some years ago that is lovely and warm and super comfy.

29. morning, afternoon or night?

I’m pretty much a night owl. Afternoon is doable. Mornings, I usually spend sleeping again after I’ve walked the dog in order to get through the day xD

He just needs a car, all the parts, a racing team, a sponsor, a driver, and like a gajillion other things he does not have. What he does have is: one whole month, an Air Force pilot, an heiress, two enthusiastic teenagers, a discredited science teacher, three ex-cons, a high-tech robot disguised as a Roomba, and a wicked crush on the guy from YouTube. Seriously, how can he lose? They are absolutely adorable, and work great together as a team!

Hindsight by Amethystina Ever since he was a little boy, Bucky has dreamed of becoming an astronaut together with Steve, and he can hardly believe their luck when both of them are picked for the Ares 3 crew — the third expedition sent to explore Mars. It is, quite literally, a dream come true. Things get complicated when Bucky finds himself inconveniently attracted to their mechanical engineer, however. Tony Stark is funny, competent, and absolutely captivating, but considering NASA's strict non-fraternization policy, Bucky knows it's better to keep his interest to himself — at least until they return to Earth. He can wait. Not once does Bucky consider the possibility that all of them might not make it back alive, or just how much he'll come to regret not acting when he had the chance. Very much a favorite - both the developing of the romance and everything else that’s going on.

Return to Neverland by weethreequarter Bucky Barnes hasn’t returned home in five years, the guilt and shame ensuring that he stayed away. But suddenly he finds himself standing on his family’s front porch when he rescues an abused horse, hoping that his family can help it like they’ve helped so many others. But returning home isn’t that simple. Bucky has to face not only his family, but also what kept him from returning home all these years. It’s not all bad though: at least there is the hot dickhead who works for his sister with the ass that just won’t quit.  The way they bond in this is great and incredibly organic.
