BTS FANFIC WRITERS OF COLOR YOU NEED TO READ ASAP

BTS FANFIC WRITERS OF COLOR YOU NEED TO READ ASAP

Yesterday, I wrote about a post about the whitewashing that can happen in BTS fanfics and why we need POC writers in general - and in the BTS fandom. Today, I have a post with more than 60 BTS fanfic authors of color. Shout out to the Possums, my various contacts, and my other moots for their help.

Please share and support these writers!

Please do not repost and only reblog. This post took over 6 hours to collate.  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The beauty of such a large and diverse BTS fandom is that there are so many talented ARMY authors in our fanfic communities. As I mentioned in my post about how whitewashed BTS fanfics can be, I get especially happy when I come across fellow POC writers. Thanks to my own reading and networks of BTS friends and writers, I’ve compiled a list of BTS fanfic writers of color as a jumping off point to explore more POC authors and content creators.

If you are a writer of color and I did not include you (or didn’t rec a fic of yours), it’s nothing personal. Sometimes, I don’t know if writers identify as POC or I just haven’t come across your fics yet. Feel free to comment with your handles and a fic to check out and I will try to add you or update when I get a chance (and if I don’t, at least it will be in the comments once the comment itself is approved or moderated).

Sutures - Interlude: Birdwatching

Sutures - Interlude: Birdwatching

Genre: Soulmates AU, Idiots to Lovers, slight Enemies to Lovers

Pairing: Namjoon/Named Reader

Warnings (chapter-specific): references my series Sutures beware of spoilers, drunkeness, being creeped on (subtly and briefly),

Synopsis: “A person often meets his destiny on the road he took to avoid it.” –Jean de la Fontaine

There was only one thing you and Min Yoongi had in common that night. You were both brokenhearted. You only intended to be together for one night, but when you both end up in the hospital the next day you discover that you are soulmates. It could kill you to be apart. As you and Yoongi attempt to sever the bond between you, will another be formed?

Note: I’m sorry that this final installment of Sutures took so long. However, I did originally write it months after I finished the original story. This isn't necessary to read for the story, but does provide a different perspective and some cuteness.

Sutures - Interlude: Birdwatching

Year One

Eunji's phone vibrated on the desk beside her. The contact name "Goose" lit up the screen and she immediately answered the call.

"Hey," she said. "What's going on?"

"Hello Dove," he said, making her stomach flop. Despite the codenames being her idea to protect Namjoon's identity when they talked in public, and in case you or Yoongi were nearby, it still caused her to feel like she missed lunch. "Are you busy right now?"

"Uh, not really," she said. "Just working on some school work." Soon after you had left for the States, Eunji had decided to go back to college and finish her degree. It helped her stay busy. She was paid to keep tabs on you, make sure that your health was not compromised, and that you and Yoongi stayed on different continents for the time being. BigHit cared that Yoongi's health was good, which meant yours had to be as well. There was no telling if you and Yoongi could still affect each other nearly 6,000 miles apart.

"Do you want to meet up? We're going to be going to Los Angeles soon and we should work out a plan."

"Okay, the normal place in about an hour?"

"Sounds good."

---

Eunji and Namjoon liked to meet outside the city in Ilsan. He'd sworn that he knew a great cafe near the lake park, and Eunji had come to like their lattes. She got to the cafe before Namjoon and began sipping her latte as she watched the rain run down the window.

She caught sight of Namjoon halfway down the block. He wore a mask, black hat, and black peacoat, but she could still make out his tall, lanky form. It looked like he already carried one coffee cup in his hand and she let out a small chuckle at his dependence on caffeine.

He entered the shop. Spotting her right away, he sat down across from her and promptly ordered an Americano. On the table, Namjoon set a book, notebook, and his mask.

"Latte?" he asked, smiling as she took another sip.

Eunji nodded, setting the mug down and awkwardly looking at the man in front of her. She knew he was an idol, of course, but she'd come to know him so well in the past months that it was odd when she stumbled upon a billboard with his face. She could never get used to the stares and whispers that inevitably surrounded them whenever they met up, although it seemed reduced here, Namjoon's hometown.

"You can keep the mask on if you want," she said. "You know, so you don't get recognized here with me."

Namjoon shook his head. "The mask would only make them more suspicious." The barista brought his Americano. He took a sip. "So, how is Sumi doing?"

"Okay," Eunji said, her eyes wandering around the cafe. "She's still pretty torn up about her grandma and she hasn't been working too much lately."

Namjoon nodded. "Yoongi has been distant. Throwing himself into his studio for days at a time. Sure, he's been productive, but I can tell something is off with him." He paused. "Do you think there's still some sort of connection there?"

"Maybe," Eunji said. "Should we ask the doctors about it? See if influencing each other's mood could be bad for their health?"

"I think it's okay. We just need to make sure they're moods never get dangerously low." Namjoon pulled his gaze away from Eunji. "His songs have been different too. He always wrote sad songs, but there's a longing in these. He keeps mentioning yarn and knitting. I don't think he even realizes."

"It's sad," Eunji said. "That they obviously are still soulmates, still so connected, and they can't live happily with each other." She looked across the table at the man who had written so many love songs and knew he would understand.

"The doctors said there's hope one day. Once they have both achieved what they need to before finding love. When they're ready, they can find each other again."

Eunji sighed. "I always dreamed that finding your soulmate was the best thing in the world. You'd have someone who you could understand inherently, someone who would never leave your side, who would always love you." She brushed one of her hands through her hair. "I never imagined it could be this messy."

"I think people can have soulmates outside of the medical definition," he said. "Like, you can find all that without the biological connection that Yoongi and Sumi have."

"Maybe, I just wish one day I'll find my soulmate and it won't be like this."

"That's the thing. You're destined to be together, but if you meet at the wrong time, in the wrong way. Everything gets messed up." Namjoon smiled, it was small and barely there, but Eunji could see the hope behind his expression. "I think they'll find each other again one day. And, you'll find someone too. Maybe not like Sumi did, but someone who will make you feel the same way."

"All right," she said. "Enough about my lonely life. Let's make a plan for when you go to Los Angeles."

 Year Two

"Did you hear about that celebrity who found his soulmate?" you asked your best friend, munching on some potato chips as you went over one of your student's assignments.

"What?" Eunji asked, her voice sounding a bit panicked. "Who?"

"Oh, it was just some actor," you said. "Apparently, he's taking some time off now so that they can get used to the arrangement. Can you imagine that? Your soulmate is some sort of celebrity and you have to work around their fans and fame. I would hate that."

"I mean, if it's the right person, wouldn't it be worth it?" Eunji asked, chewing on her bottom lip. "They would be your soulmate. The perfect person for you."

You shrugged. "I don't know. It's rare anyway. I don't think either of us will have to worry about that."

Eunji's jaw stiffened and her body tensed. "I don't know," she said. "I think it's more common than you think."

The crunch of more chips cut of Eunji. "Maybe," you said. "Oh, by the way, did I tell you I'm seeing a guy over here? It's nothing serious yet, but I really like him."

Eunji's anger melted into concern. Dating hadn't been part of the plan. Last she knew, you still remembered everything that happened with Minki and had sworn off dating. "How'd you meet him?"

"He came into my parent's restaurant," you said, laughing. "Apparently he was a regular. It was weird. Mom didn't seem too keen to set me up with him."

"Yeah, that is weird."

When the call ended, Eunji texted Namjoon to tell him that you two needed to schedule a meetup. But, her muscles were still tense. How could you be so dismissive? Eunji remembered the way you'd been scared when you found out Yoongi was your soulmate, but she also remembered the way your eyes softened.

She knew you didn't remember Yoongi or your romance. That made it all the more tragic. That the you of now didn't believe it was possible to care for someone so deeply you would sacrifice everything about yourself.

Namjoon had just gotten back to Korea from abroad, so Eunji didn't expect him to respond to her for a while. So, she did what she always did when she felt lonely and depressed. Eunji went clubbing.

Eunji knew it was a bad idea to come out by herself. The club was crowded and she barely had room to dance by herself. She ordered drink after drink. This was how you met Yoongi. Dancing in a bar while getting just drunk enough to lose your inhibition.

Eunji thought that if she drank enough if she danced enough, she too would fall into the lap of her soulmate.

---

Namjoon woke to his phone vibrating. He saw Eunji's name on the screen, stress building in his chest. He'd seen the text earlier and brushed it off, intending to respond to it tomorrow, but now, he worried something was really wrong.

"Dove? Why are you calling me at two am?" You didn't respond and Namjoon only heard hitched breathing on the other line. "Eunji?"

"Goose," she said, her voice slurring. "Why can't I find my soulmate? I've done everything Sumi has and it hasn't happened." Eunji paused and he heard thumping music in the background. "Am I just destined to be alone forever?"

"Where are you, Dove?"

"A club in Yong-san."

Namjoon swore under his breath and got out of bed.

---

"Stop drinking," Namjoon said, climbing out of a taxi and onto an Itaewon street, a neighborhood in Yong-san. He knew it had to be here you'd found yourself. It was where all the tourists who liked clubbing ended up. "Then, you could help me find you."

"I'm outside." She said it as if Namjoon should know exactly where that was. He could hear the people around her and he walked a little faster.

"Is there anything nearby that you can see?" he asked, pulling up his mask and pulling down his beanie so that it covered his blond hair.

"Uh, there's a 7-Eleven across the street."

Namjoon let out a breath of relief as she actually answered his question logically. "All right, Dove. Just sit down on the curb and I'll be there soon."

There were many 7-Eleven's in the area, but according to his maps, only one was directly across from a nightclub. Namjoon turned the corner, immediately stumbling onto the convenience store. Looking across the street, he saw her sitting on the curb and extremely interested in something on the blacktop.

"Dove!" he said, running across the street and crouching down beside her. He placed his hand on her bare shoulder, finding it cold from the chilly night. "What are you doing?"

"The ants," she said. "Nobody cares about them."

Namjoon noticed a line of ants that were crawling towards a crack in the pavement. She wore a strapless body con dress and for once, Namjoon wasn't the one drawing attention.

He took off his jacket and threw it over her shoulders. It covered the entire length of the dress. "Come on, Dove. Get up. It's time to go home." Namjoon took her hand and hoisted her up.

She finally looked up at him as if she'd just noticed his presence. "Are you my soulmate?"

Namjoon was getting annoyed. "Why did you come out by yourself?" he asked. "You need to be more careful. There's too many strange guys around to get drunk on your own." He eyed a few that seemed particularly interested in the drunk girl.

"Are you worried about me, soulmate?" She wore a dreamy smile and grabbed onto the sides of his T-shirt to stabilize herself.

Namjoon sighed and placed his arms around her shoulders as he waved his free up to hail a taxi. He climbed in first and reached to help her in, but she tried to stumble in herself. Tripping over her platform heels, she landed right in his lap.

The taxi driver looked back at them expectantly and Namjoon helped Eunji sit up and reached across her body to hook her seatbelt.

"What's your address, Dove?"

Luckily, she was able to tell the driver your address. It was in one of the outer neighborhoods of the city and Namjoon wondered if she'd even planned on going home that night. He noticed the way her eyelids drooped and how she pulled the jacket closer around her.

"Tired?" He lifted his arm and allowed her to rest against his chest. His heart rate elevated and he resisted the urge to leaned down fix her smeared lipstick.

"I'm so happy I found you," she said, wrapping her arms around his waist. "I can finally have my happy ending."

---

Eunji fell asleep before they reached her apartment. As the taxi came to a stop and parked outside her complex, he leaned down and gripped her shoulder rubbing one of his fingertips against the fabric of his jacket.

"Dove, we're here," he said. It was nearly four now. He opened the door of the taxi and gently helped her out. Eunji was barely awake, so he kept his arm firmly around her shoulder to keep her stable. He took her keys and got into the building, looking around for an elevator.

"Only stairs," she said, pointing to the stairwell.

Namjoon sighed and headed towards the stairs. "What floor?"

"Six."

"Of course."

Halfway through, Eunji began to help him, taking some of the weight off his shoulders. Still, when they reached the sixth floor, he felt his arms and shoulders burning, catching his breath.  She started walking on her own, stumbling towards her door and attempting to put the keys in the lock, not realizing that Namjoon still held them.

He followed her and unlocked her apartment, following her inside. "Are you all right now, Dove?"

Eunji turned to look at him. It was obvious that some of her drunkenness had begun to wear off, but her eyes were still glassy and she couldn't walk entirely straight. "You can't leave me," she said. "We're soulmates and we'll die."

Namjoon let out a frustrated breath. "All right," he said. "Go change and go to sleep." He watched she disappeared into her bedroom.

After a few minutes, he knocked on her door and peeked in to see her changed and underneath the covers. "I'll be on to couch if you get sick." He moved to close the door but she interrupted his movements.

"No, stay with me," she said. "I don't mind."

Namjoon gave in, just wanting to shut his eyes. He flopped down on the other side of her bed, feeling as she curled against his side.

---

Namjoon woke to another phone call. He noticed Eunji still sleeping next to him, her makeup smeared and he couldn't help but smile as he brought the phone to his ear.

"Yeah?"

"Where are you?" Yoongi asked. "We're supposed to go over the new songs."

Namjoon glanced down as she shifted beside him and met her eyes as she opened them. "I got caught up helping a friend last night," he said. "Sorry, I'll be on my way in twenty minutes."

Year Three

"How long until she comes back?" Namjoon asked, plucking a cookie off the plate in the center of the table. The two had become well-known regulars to the cafe, coming at least every few months, although now it was nearly every week. They usually gave them a plate of cookies to share. Each visit was a different flavor and Namjoon seemed to particularly like the matcha flavored ones.

"Two weeks," Eunji said. "She's moving in with me until she finds her own place."

Namjoon paused with another cookie halfway to his mouth. "Does that mean we can't meet up anymore?"

Eunji found herself smiling, her stomach filling with butterflies. She, too, looking forward to their Sunday meetings. Sometimes they lost track of discussing you and Yoongi and talked for hours about other things. BTS, the songs Namjoon was writing, funny stories, how much you enjoyed the snickerdoodles from the same cafe.

"No, we'll just have to be more careful." Eunji looked down and picked up one of the last cookies for herself. "Although, do you think they're almost ready to meet again?"

"I don't think that's up to us," Namjoon said. "I think we'll have to let fate decide."

Eunji laughed. "Yeah, cause it did such a good job last time."

"I don't know. It kinda brought us together, didn't it?" He took the last cookie in his mouth.

Eunji smiled, hoping Namjoon didn't notice the way her ears reddened. "Yeah, yeah, it did." Ever since that night Namjoon helped her home over a year ago, she always felt excitement and nerves before their meetings. She checked her makeup and flattened down her hair. She would spend twenty minutes getting dress. Eunji even caught herself googling his ideal type before closing the window and cursing herself for being such an idiot.

"I think we just monitor it for now," he said. "We don't want to breathe down their necks or insist we go with them everywhere or they'll be suspicious."

Eunji nodded as she took a bite of her cookie and stared down at the table. It was a few seconds before she looked back up at Namjoon. "I really want them to find each other again, Goose. It just doesn't seem fair. I wish we could lock them in a room together and make them."

Namjoon reached across the table and laid his over hers. His eyes were soft. "Me too."

"You know, my soulmate just doesn't seem as important now," she said. "I don't know if I have one. But, I know Sumi does and I want her to be happy."

Eunji thought about three and half years ago when she first saw Namjoon in the hospital when you and Yoongi found out you were soulmates. He hadn't seemed real, a face and body she'd only seen on TV or through a screen. She had a hard time hiding her jealousy. Her best friend who never went out, ignored other guys for her deadbeat ex-boyfriend, and had her first and only one night stand found her soulmate so effortlessly.

She remembered seeing Namjoon that day too. He looked pretty much the same as the man sitting across from her, except for the little bit of facial hair that he no longer bothered to shave and how he rarely wore a mask when he met with her anymore.

Namjoon watched her from across the table. His eyes focused on her lips as she spoke and he noticed the way she seemed so wrapped up in her own thoughts.

He'd misjudged her all those years ago. Eunji liked to party and drink too much. She kissed a different boy every week, not caring too much for seeing them the next day. But, he slowly saw the reasons. The want for love, for attention. That she could get instantly if she wore the right dress at the club. Her and Sumi seemed so different, but as he got to know her more, he saw that the attention only came from giving all of hers to others. Most of which didn't deserve it.

"Dove," he said, cutting through the comfortable silence. "What do you say to meeting up again?"

Eunji made eye contact with him, her brow furrowing. "What do you mean?

"I mean, like where we can meet up and we don't talk about the lovebirds."

"You mean, like a date?"

"That's exactly what I mean, Dove."

I live in India. If any of us needs medical attention if infected, I'm quite sure we won't survive. Delhi is a large capital city, MP's have to tweet and beg to get medical attention for their loved ones. We have the record for highest single day infections.

This video by the BBC India bureau is pretty distressing and summarises the issue quite effectively: supplies, infrastructure, vaccines.

A crowdsourced list of fundraisers to donate (<FF> for campaigns that accept foreign funds, I'm also matching donations upto Rs 20000, DM)

If you have time this weekend: volunteer to collect information of the status of beds

Unfortunately, money will not solve all of India's problems. This is the activism I'd encourage you to pursue if you're not Indian:

1. The United States refuses to lift a export raw material ban on vaccine products even temporarily. Note that India exported 60 million doses of Astra Zeneca abroad before this crisis.

2. Angela Merkel threatens future retaliation against India for focusing on domestic vaccines.

3. There's also a WTO bill that would waive patent monopolies *temporarily* in addressing COVID

I Live In India. If Any Of Us Needs Medical Attention If Infected, I'm Quite Sure We Won't Survive. Delhi

I call all of this genocidal colonialism by another name. Please organise. India is the producer of vaccines and pharma that is intended to go to middle and low income countries, as long as the crisis continues here, it will have knock on effects in South America and Africa. The virus mutating through 1 billion people will get deadlier and find you too, so it's probably in your self interest.

Campaign #PeoplesVaccine to support the WTO bill

Countrywise:

If you live in the US: find your reps here & email them, alternatively (thanks @ataratah) Text "SIGN PKSLVL" to the RESISTBOT (50409) to get on the petition and send a letter to your reps to lift the embargo. It's super quick and you don't have to be eloquent or talk to a single human!

If you live in Australia: find your reps here & email them

Sutures - Chapter Nine: Lost In Japan

When you landed in Japan, your phone was already blowing up with notifications.

"Jang Sumi Seen With Min Yoongi's Bodyguard"

"Jang Sumi Joining BTS In Japan For Promotions"

The cameras already waited when you stepped into the airport. You were in the middle of the members, and instead of stopping for pictures like normal, bodyguards flanked in between the eight of you and the cameras.

You felt as Yoongi reached down and softly took your hand. You looked back at him with a confused look and he just shrugged.

"They all have their assumptions anyway," he said. "Just keep going. They'll try to get in our way, but just keep going. They won't bother you if you're with me."

You moved through the crowd with Yoongi's hand as your anchor. You heard the various fans gasping and screaming and the paparazzi asking questions and trying to provoke you and the members into a response, but before you knew it, you were in the back of a van and fastening your seatbelt. The satisfying click making you smile. You made it.

Yoongi was beside you. He still held your hand and you wondered if he noticed. His thumb rubbed lightly over your knuckles in a quick, sweeping motion. You didn't necessarily mind him holding your hand, it was just that there was no use for it now.

The van door shut as Jimin got in and plopped down beside you. A few seconds later, the van was moving.

"My phone blew up when we landed," you said. "Apparently, the bodyguard who helped me through the airport was your bodyguard?"

"Oh, yeah," he said, shrugging his shoulders.

"What did you do then?"

"Eh, we had plenty of bodyguards," he said. "Since we were in a group, it was unnecessary to have mine."

"But, Yoongi, I know things have happened to you in airports before. You're an idol. You're a bigger risk."

"Sumi, I lent him to you and something still happened," Yoongi said, his thumb brushing over your knuckles again, but slower this time.

"You really don't have to worry about us, Sumi," Jimin said. His eyes were closed and you'd honestly thought he was asleep. "We have enough bodyguards and we have Jungkook." Jimin kicked the back of the youngest's seat, who sat in front of him.

You laughed and dropped the subject and instead gazed out the window at Tokyo. You'd only truly been to the city once when you were a kid, although you'd had many layovers in the Tokyo airport on your flight to and from the US.

---

"There's a problem with the hotel," Se-jin said, coming back out to the van. Most of the members were barely awake due to their busy schedules and how they'd gotten used to sleeping on most forms of transportation. "A fire sprinkler in Sumi's room burst and it flooded the whole room. The flooding is contained in her room due to the staff. Are you okay sharing a room, Sumi?"

You nodded. "Yeah," you said. "That's fine."

"All right, does anyone--"

"I will!" All of the members shouted at once. You were amazed that despite their perceived states of sleep, they all appeared to be awake and fully listening. You laughed.

"She'll stay with me," Yoongi said.

You turned to look at him surprised. "But, what about the rumors?"

"They know we're soulmates at this point. And, if you got caught staying with one of the other members, what do you think they would think?"

Your brow furrowed. They already thought you had cheated on Minki with Yoongi, but if the media began circulating that you were cheating on Yoongi, you could only imagine the backlash you would receive.

"Yeah, okay," you said. "I'll stay with Yoongi." Se-jin nodded and closed the van door as he went back into the hotel to finish checking in.

"We've rented out the whole floor, so there should be no way anyone will find out," Yoongi said, giving you a small smile.

"Then, why couldn't I stay with one of the other boys?" you asked, your lips curving into a smirk.

Yoongi's ears turned red and he looked between you and the other members who watched in loving amusement.

"Just in case."

---

By the time you all got checked in and everything unloaded, the sun was beginning to set. You saw no point in unpacking your suitcase completely when you were only staying for four days. However, you unpacked your toiletries and headed to the bathroom.

"Do you need to shower--?" you ask, but the words are left in the air as you notice Yoongi dropping the extra pillows and blankets from the closet onto the couch. "What are you doing?"

"Setting up my bed." He smoothed out the blankets and placed the pillow on one end of the couch.

"You don't have to sleep on the couch. I trust you. It's not like we haven't shared a bed before."

"It's not that," Yoongi said. "I don't trust the urges. We've only had one, but I'm afraid if we lay together in bed. It would just trigger something."

You nodded. "You're right. But, I'll sleep on the couch. This is your room."

Yoongi shrugged and shook his head before falling back onto the couch and crossing his hands over his stomach. "Go take your shower."

You sighed and went into the bathroom and took the shower you'd been long awaiting. Despite the coffee having been spilled on you hours before and changing into Yoongi's shirt, you could still feel the sticky cream-filled coffee on your skin. You undressed and folded Yoongi's shirt and placed it on the counter so that it wouldn't get wet and continued to undress. Only when you had finished did you realize that you'd forgotten to bring your pajamas with you.

---

"Yoongi?" you asked, peeking your head out the bathroom. "Are you awake?"

Yoongi chose not to respond as you emerged from the bathroom in one of the hotel's white bathrobes. He didn't respond because he wanted you to strip in front of him, but rather, he was hoping to be asleep within a few minutes anyway.

As he heard you shuffle back towards the bed, he heard a small scuffle and you curse under your breath. He opened his eyes to see you standing by the bed as nothing happened. You unfastened the robe and allowed it to fall.

Yoongi only caught a glance of your bare back before he shut his eyes again, although he felt a stirring in his stomach. He could only curse in his head as he attempted to focus on anything else. He didn't catch a glimpse of anything super sexual, but it didn't matter. Yoongi hoped this wouldn't lead to another urge. While he wanted nothing more than to pull you into him and kiss you up and down your body, he knew he couldn't for the sake of severing the soulmate bond.

There were a few seconds of silence. He figured you'd finished getting dressed, but the light was still on and he hadn't heard you climb into the bed. He opened his eyes only to be met with a pillow to the face.

"I knew you weren't asleep!" you said, holding the pillow above your head to bring back down upon him. Yoongi acted quickly and sat up and grabbed the pillow and tossed it to the side.

You were dumbfounded for a second until you heard Yoongi laugh. "What was your plan exactly?"

You shrugged. "I don't know. I just wanted to prove you were being a creep." You wiggled your eyebrows as a smirk came over your face.

"Hey! I didn't see anything. I kept my eyes closed."

"Mmm," you said. "I don't believe you."

Before Yoongi could respond, a silence came over the two of you as you both simultaneously realized that you were straddling his lap and you could feel him pressing into you.

"Sorry," he whispered as you climbed off of him.

You shook your head. "No, it's okay. You didn't mean to. Let's, uh, let's go to bed."

"Wait, Sumi, what are your plans for tomorrow?"

"I just plan on going out and exploring a bit. I've never got to explore the city. Probably do some shopping, visit temples." Your eyes narrowed in curiosity. "Why?"

"I'll be working," he said. "Just make sure to get back here before me so we don't risk anything. I'm supposed to be done with the fan sign at five."

You nodded. "You don't think being away from each other in general will cause anything?"

It was only then that Yoongi realized that you hadn't been away from each other for nearly two weeks. While you might not be physically together, you were always within the same building or space. "I think it's been enough time."

You nodded as you climbed under the covers of the bed and reached over to turn off the bedside lamp. Even in the dark, Yoongi could make out as you pulled the covers up to your chin and turned on your side. It made him smile.

"Goodnight, Yoongi."

"Goodnight."

---

Your knees ached by midday, but your day alone in the city had been one of the best you'd had in years. You hadn't been truly alone for what felt like months. Sure, you slept alone and you could easily duck in the bathroom for five minutes of peace, but this was freedom you didn't think you'd have after the whole soulmate thing happened.

Yoongi was gone when you'd woke up that morning, the blanket tossed to one side of the couch. Not neat, but not exactly messy. It was odd, not feeling the aching in his chest when he was gone. You knew there were exceptions for when you were obligated to be apart, but since Yoongi worked so much, maybe it wouldn't be so horrible.

Your mind had still wandered to Yoongi throughout the day. Occasionally, you'd see a BTS ad campaign or someone wearing merch, but what really caught your attention was a small Kumamon figure. It was clearly meant to act as a paperweight or just to decorate a desk. You'd noticed that Yoongi seemed to like the character and after a quick Google search, it was confirmed. You bought the figure and tossed it into your purse.

With shopping bags in your hands and your camera in your hand, you managed to use your one free hand to pull out enough money to buy a taiyaki. You thanked the woman who handed it to you in your best rudimental Japanese.

You were a few blocks away and halfway through your taiyaki when you thought to check the time. You nearly dropped the sweet bun when you realized it was 4:50 pm. Yoongi was due to be done in ten minutes and you were at least a half hour walk from the hotel--if not more.

You rush out to the side of the road and attempt to hail a taxi. The first few passed you, but eventually one stopped and you frantically told the driver the name of the hotel.

Within five minutes, the driver only managed to get a few blocks because of rush hour traffic. With nowhere to go, you were stranded. You'd gone the whole day without making a scene or being recognized (although maybe because you wore a baseball cap and mask), despite your face on the cover of magazine articles everywhere. And, you were afraid that you were going to have to end up on more of them to get out of this.

You waited another five minutes before handing the driver a wad of cash that was definitely too much and apologizing as you got out of the cab. Carrying your bags and purse on your arm, you ran across the stopped lanes of traffic and tried to ignore the car horns and confused shouts. You checked the time. 5:01 pm. You ran and pulled up the GPS on your phone and entered the hotel address.

Your vision blurred and you felt a small pull in your chest. It was warning you.

---

Something felt off as the van pulled up to the back door of the hotel. His palms begin to sweat and his heart beat against his chest as if he were sprinting. The door to the van opened and Yoongi didn't even remember it stopping or the rest of the members climbing out.

"Yoongi?" one of the members called.

Yoongi managed to his feet and out of the van but nearly collapsed against Jin, who grabbed him by the shoulder to stabilize him. He doesn't get far before he collapses against the wall of the hotel, his neck lulling back.

"Yoongi, what's wrong?"

"Sumi...she must not be back yet..."

Yoongi hears some talking and shuffling, but barely understands anything as two of the boys lift him up and inside the hotel.

"They're going to look for her, Yoongi. It will be okay."

---

You'd made it a few more blocks, although you could barely tell. You were running, even though your vision was so blurred you could barely see. You used the buildings on the side as your guide and hoped you wouldn't bump into anyone.

Your heart was beating out of your chest and you honestly couldn't tell if it was because of the running or that Yoongi was back at the hotel. You felt lightheaded and even with your headphones in you could barely hear the directions your GPS was telling you.

The edges of your vision begin going black and you feel your knees hit the pavement. This was it. You hoped a passerby would stop and at least call an ambulance.

"Sumi!" someone a short distance away shouted.

You couldn't make out their faces, but you could see figures running through the crowd towards you. As you slumped against the nearest wall, you felt yourself being scooped up.

"Sumi, Sumi, it's okay. We're not too far away. Come on, stay awake."

You recognized Jungkook's face and allowed your face to fall against his T-shirt. It felt warm, but as you neared the hotel, your senses clearing a tiny bit, you realized it was a little too warm. You remembered back to the day before when you'd accidentally burned Tae's hand.

"I-I'm sorry," you said. "It doesn't hurt does it?"

"It was just the T-shirt. Don't worry about it, Sumi."

His voice is soft and you can barely hear him over the commotion you're approaching. You can already hear the slew of photographers who are inside the lobby of the hotel and outside on the sidewalk. They haven't seemed to notice you yet, as their camera flashes and yells are aimed elsewhere.

"Jungkook! Jimin!" Se-jin called from the alleyway where he held open a service door normally only used for employees. While your vision had cleared, you still felt out of breath and your heart still convulsed in your chest.

Jungkook ran towards the door and immediately into a service elevator. He didn't drop you back on your feet like you had expected him to. His arms were slung under your knees and around your shoulders. You wondered why you weren't burning his arms. Maybe because he wasn't touching your skin? Maybe the soulmate curse somehow recognized that he was helping you get closer to Yoongi? Whatever it was, you were thankful that beyond burning a small black hole in his T-shirt, you hadn't hurt him.

The elevator dinged and Jungkook rushed you into your hotel room. Yoongi was already on the bed, a cloth on his forehead. He was sweaty, his shirt pulled up, exposing his stomach and his hair pushed back.

Jungkook plopped you down on the bed beside Yoongi. Your breath evened out and your muscles relaxed, but the dull ache in your chest remained.

"Do you guys need anything?"

"Just some water."

Jungkook went to the sink and filled a glass with water and set it on the bedside table beside you. "Just text or call one of us if you need anything."

You nodded and Jungkook left the room. As soon as the door shut, Yoongi's arms around you and your face in his chest. His lips came to your forehead and you released a breath you hadn't realized you'd been holding.

"I lost track of time," you said. "I tried to take a taxi, but it was rush hour."

"It's okay. It's not your fault. It was harder than we thought it would be."

"Do you think we'll ever break it?" you asked. "If this was so difficult, if we can't even be apart due to a simple mistake, even if we were in love, how would we fix this?"

"I don't know. But, you should get some sleep."

"You too."

You rested your head on Yoongi's shoulder, his arm slung around you comfortably, fitting perfectly against your waist and in the swell of your hips. It was the only place your body would allow you to be, but even if it was just the soulmate curse, even if you didn't love Yoongi, you knew there was no other place you wanted to be than his arms.

---

You fell asleep long before Yoongi did. Your small breaths tickling the skin on his neck and you were so still in his arms, only the way your chest moved slowly up and down indicated that you were still alive.

He'd never tell you, but he loved the way you looked when you slept. You scrunched your face up like a fussy baby and sometimes you'd make small moans in reactions to whatever happened in your dreams.

It was nearly 1 am and Yoongi couldn't sleep. There were still pangs in his chest, but he wasn't sure if it was due to the earlier ordeal, or something else. He looked down at your sleeping form and carefully tucked stray hairs behind your ear. The ends of your hair were still a little damp with sweat, but he didn't care.

You smiled at his touch and burrowed deeper into him. So deep, in fact, Yoongi wasn't sure you'd ever come out.

Amadeus Teaser

Amadeus Teaser

Genre: Werewolf AU, slight Fantasy AU, Musician!Reader

Pairing: Bang Chan/Reader

Rating: M

Warnings: violence, gore, weapon usage, potential smut later on (individual chapters will continue warnings)

Synopsis: Chan belongs to the Order of Amadeus who work to keep the kingdom safe from the lycanthropy plague spreading among the populace. You can only hunt so long before you become what you hunt.

Y/N is a violinist in a traveling music troupe-one of the few left in the kingdom. One morning when she is practicing in the woods, a man emerges from among the trees and changes her life forever.

Down a member, the Order of Amadeus continues their mission to end the lycanthropy plague, but their missing member remains in the back of their mind as they narrow in on the worst wolf of them all.

It all started one day when an injured wolf hobbled into a village on the edge of the forest. Blood spilled from its shoulder and it panted as it made its way into a field of sheep. The farmers were used to watching for wolves emerging from the forest, usually staffing a local teenager to sit at the edge of the field and watch. A shotgun leaned against the watch stand, dusty

When she noted the scruffy gray form moving towards her, the girl squinted her eyes as she reached for the shotgun. Her hand on the cool metal of the barrel, her fingers didn’t wrap around it as she noticed the weakened gait and the blood dripping from its shoulders, down the front leg, and between the toes of the paw.

The girl knew she should shoot it and put it out of its misery, but her job was to protect the flock of sheep and this wolf was obviously no threat to them. Slowly climbing down the elevated watch stand, the girl approached the wounded animal.

The wolf approached her as if it was there specifically for her. Laying down on its uninjured side, yellow eyes watched as the girl lightly touched the wound, blood coating her hand.

“How did you manage this?” she asked as if talking to a housecat.

The wolf let out a whimper.

The girl looked around, hoping her bosses were not nearby. She knew this would likely get her thrown off the job, but the animal was helpless. Remembering that a blanket was kept in the watch stand, she climbed back up and brought the layers of thick cotton back down.

“I’m not sure how much I can do, but this should stop the bleeding.”

Two Weeks Later

“The wolf is dead!”

Bells chimed and people emerged from houses and businesses as the crowd of the village’s men walked into the square. Torches illuminated the branch slung over the shoulders of two men. People craned their necks to catch a glimpse of the creature, but instead caught a glimpse of bloodied human skin.

“You’ve killed a man!”

The body was that of a young man, probably no older than twenty-five. His dark hair hung down as if standing up along the back of a threatened wolf. Each of his limbs was tied to the branch with coarse rope. Mouths dropped and villagers gasped. Children swept behind skirts.

The men looked between each other. “He was a wolf when we shot him.”

Silence fell. If he was a wolf and then turned into a man that could only mean one thing.
