Very happy moment for me to find a Bald Cypress gut with knees and everything here in the foothills. Cypress forests along the swamps and rivers at home are abundant, and I miss them. I found a tiny piece of home up here.

Dry Falls, Nantahala National Forest. My favorite.

Consolidated collection of tree pics from Congaree. This South Carolinian old growth forest is full ancient treasures. I have only explored a very tiny piece of the national park’s 20,000+ acres. Pictured here is Water Tupelo, Loblolly Pine, and Bald Cypress trees.

The marsh during high tide. Only the tips of the spartina grass showing. Give it 6 hours and all the water will be gone.
