Rain

The sound,

The smell,

Intoxicating.

Your eyes,

Your lies,

So are they.

The rain

and you

so similar,

aren't they?

Is that the reason,

when I feel the water

I see a glimpse of your face?

The flowers bloom,

spreading their petals,

they remind me of you and the previous night.

Just like the rain,

I feel a sense of affection

and comfort at the bit of moment.

However,

when the lights go off,

the consequences make me weep in pain.

Just like the rain,

Why do you become a need

and a disastrous cause to me?

When it perishes,

resides a rainbow

in the sky as a

sign of accomplishment.

But then why,

just like the rain,

I long for you

when I look at it beaming

 in the morning sky?

Illusion

Many came and went,

found solace in the flowers

that reminded them of

of your scent.

Brought chocolates

and flowers

feeling that your nature resembles 'em.

Wrote you notes and letters

with the expectation

of yours in return,

marked by your red stain.

However,

My dear,

I felt you in the pouring rain,

I saw you in the dawn

and cupped your face,

just a slight touch,

in the dusk.

I sense you in the morning sky,

and feel you

under the starry night.

Perhaps, its me or just a delusion

if so, my dear,

let me be tangled in these threads of illusion.

The Day After Tomorrow: The Superstorm That Will Set Off A New Ice Age

The Day After Tomorrow: The Superstorm that Will Set Off a New Ice Age

Just like the 2004 science fiction disaster film “The Day After Tomorrow,” the Bible also predicts the coming of a superstorm at the end of days that will set off catastrophic natural disasters throughout the world and lead to a new ice age!

Sea Levels Rise: Floods & Tsunamis

Psalm 93.3-4 (NRSV):

The floods have lifted up, O Lord, the floods

have lifted up their voice; the floods lift up

their roaring. More majestic than the

thunders of mighty waters, more majestic

than the waves of the sea.

Great Noise: Earthquakes, Hurricanes, Whirlwinds, Storms, & Raging Fires

Isaiah 29.6:

you will be visited by the Lord of hosts with

thunder and earthquake and great noise,

with whirlwind and tempest, and the flame

of a devouring fire.

Winds, Storms & Tempests

Isaiah 32.2:

Each will be like a hiding place from the

wind, a covert from the tempest, like

streams of water in a dry place, like the

shade of a great rock in a weary land.

Storms, Hurricanes & Whirling Tempests

Jeremiah 23.19:

Look, the storm of the Lord! Wrath has gone

forth, a whirling tempest; it will burst upon

the head of the wicked.

Thunder, Lightning & Whirlwinds

Zechariah 9.14:

Then the Lord will appear over them, and

his arrow go forth like lightning; the Lord

God will sound the trumpet and march forth

in the whirlwinds of the south.

Great Fear: Lunar & Solar Eclipses, Tsunamis, Sea Levels Rise

Luke 21.25-26:

There will be signs in the sun, the moon,

and the stars, and on the earth distress

among nations confused by the roaring of

the sea and the waves. People will faint

from fear and foreboding of what is coming

upon the world, for the powers of the

heavens will be shaken.

One Third of the Earth Burned Up, Impact Events, Megatsunamis, Mountains Falling Into the Sea, One Third of the Sea Life Dead, Poisoned Waters & Nuclear Winter

Revelation 8.7-12:

The first angel blew his trumpet, and there

came hail and fire, mixed with blood, and

they were hurled to the earth; and a third of

the earth was burned up, and a third of the

trees were burned up, and all green grass

was burned up. The second angel blew his

trumpet, and something like a great

mountain, burning with fire, was thrown into

the sea. A third of the sea became blood, a

third of the living creatures in the sea died,

and a third of the ships were destroyed. The

third angel blew his trumpet, and a great

star fell from heaven, blazing like a torch,

and it fell on a third of the rivers and on the

springs of water. The name of the star is

Wormwood. A third of the waters became

wormwood, and many died from the water,

because it was made bitter. The fourth

angel blew his trumpet, and a third of the

sun was struck, and a third of the moon,

and a third of the stars, so that a third of

their light was darkened; a third of the day

was kept from shining, and likewise the

night.

Impact Events: Meteors, Asteroids & Comets Hitting the Earth

Revelation 9.1:

And the fifth angel blew his trumpet, and I

saw a star that had fallen from heaven

to earth, and he was given the key

to the shaft of the bottomless pit.

One Third of Mankind Killed By War & Air pollution

Revelation 9.18:

By these three plagues a third of humankind

was killed, by the fire and smoke and sulfur

coming out of their mouths.

Thunder & Lightning, Huge Earthquakes, Disappearing Islands & Mountains due to Sea Levels Rising & Catastrophic Storms

Revelation 16.18-20:

And there came flashes of lightning,

rumblings, peals of thunder, and a violent

earthquake, such as had not occurred since

people were upon the earth, so violent was

that earthquake. The great city was split

into three parts, and the cities of the

nations fell. God remembered great Babylon

and gave her the wine-cup of the fury of his

wrath. And every island fled away, and no

mountains were to be found.

Severe Weather: Monsoons, Thunderstorms, Tornadoes & Hailstorms

Revelation 16.21:

and huge hailstones, each weighing about a

hundred pounds, dropped from heaven on

people, until they cursed God for the plague

of the hail, so fearful was that plague.

Matthew 24.21:

For then there will be a great tribulation, such

as has not occurred since the beginning of the

world until now, nor ever will again.

Prompt 116

Geralt wakes up one stormy night to the scent of his bard's distress. His eyes snap open, and he instinctively reaches for a dagger, but is stopped when he can't move his arms. He glances to the side and sure enough, his bard is clinging to him. Jaskier has his eyes scrunched close, and his mouth is in a pouty frown. Geralt sighs a bit, and curls his free arm over and around Jaskier, cuddling him closer. Perhaps it was a bad dream. Geralt sniffs the air and nods to himself. "It'll rain soon." Jaskier whips his head over to him with horror. "RAIN!? RAIN!? I just did my hair, and this is one of my best doublets, and-" "We'll be inside by then." "Oh thank gods, Geralt." Geralt and Jaskier are traveling a very windy day, clouds begin crowding above them, darkening the sky. Jaskier has been on edge since he woke up to the harsh winds, but Geralt had just assumed he was cold and worried for his hair. But then lightning flashes in the distance, and Jaskier honest-to-gods yelps in fright. That's when Geralt finally figures it out. His bard is afraid of storms.

The Keeper and the Captain

The Keeper and The Captain

Anchor oh anchor, oh time after time,

I will call out your name to the lonely dark night.

I'll carry this torch tight and close to my heart,

In hope that your beacon might light from my spark.

Oh lighthouse oh lighthouse above the dark sea,

As my ship travels wide, your light calls out to me.

But so too calls the tempest, the wind and the rain,

Where my soul feels alive in its pleasures and pains.

Yet as I fly on through the darkness and thunder,

I cannot but look back upon you and wonder,

How complete would this heart be, if you were beside me;

If you rose from your berth and stepped out to ride these,

These waves and the winds out here that fill my sails;

That whip at your flags as you rest on your rails.

Come to me, my love, to whom my heart is sworn,

Leave me not in the darkness alone and forlorn.

Rise up, oh rise up awake from your sleep,

And I promise my shield will abide and will keep

You from harm as it once did and craves to again,

Take my hand and we'll face all that darkness might send.

Join me on the sea, below full-moon lit skies,

Hold me close and we'll take the whole world as our prize.

And should that world turn its wrath to strike us down,

Then together we'll soar or together we'll drown.

Join me in adventure, in storm and in fire,

For you and sea's chaos alike I desire.

The wind in my hair while you stand by my side,

The warmth of your hand in mine as we face the tides.

What more could I ask you, but truly what less?

Bring unto me your whole self and I'm blest.

Bring me your soul in full blazing bright glory,

Ignite and we'll burn as one and live out our story.

Or leave my hand empty, continue your slumber,

While the rain beats the rocks, the cliffs echo with thunder,

Stay warm in your bed and stay safe on your beach,

While the tides take me further, past your furthest reach.

Beside sunlit seas and far-tossed diamond crests

My heart, in fresh soil, sprouts and cannot rest.

As far from the home shore I've found that I'm stronger,

And found maybe a point where I cannot wait longer.

So when my heart fin'ly stirs, upon faraway shores,

To a fire that once did, but no more reflects yours,

Perhaps I'll look back, 'cross the ocean and sigh,

Or can I look forward, to a hope-tinged blue sky?

But of course I'd look back, because how could I not,

When so often your beacon steered me from the rocks?

And so I sail in circles, til whirlpools take form,

And I'm dragged down to depths by the rage of the storm.

Oh, am I just poison that rots all I touch?

Is it best that I leave alone, not ask too much?

Or have I the right of it, to hope for some joy,

To want for the dreams that were mine since a boy?

I sing to the darkness, to the space that we share,

And I strain still my ears for the sound, is it there?

The echo, the harmony, the answering call,

That speaks to my deepest, my closest, my all?

There's no specter, no nightmare, no beast in its violence,

That carries such terror as quiet, as silence.

The emptiness left like an unanswered prayer,

As I fall from the tightrope and my fingers clutch air.

Oh nothingness, emptiness, ruinous shell,

I pine for what was as I spiral to hell.

In greed grows my hunger for all that could be,

As I gorge on illusion and on wonders I see

But don't touch, but couldn't touch, e'en if I tried,

E'en if I wanted, but still my hands are tied.

And I don't want, but still can see yonder hills green,

And feel my skin tickled by breezes unseen.

I look back with longing, across the dark sea,

At the flame, at the flicker which once blazed for me.

Swallowed up by the distance, the darkness, and rain,

The glow's near abated, but still my eyes strain,

I want you, I want to believe that you're there,

Just waiting to join me, my beacon so fair.

So end me my torment, and take you my hand,

That together we'll blaze like a twice-brightened brand.

Let us weave a new tale, and more tales upon those,

Be my ever companion, my undying red rose.

The story of two gardens in Surah Al-Kahf speaks about this:

وَأُحِيطَ بِثَمَرِهِۦ فَأَصۡبَحَ يُقَلِّبُ كَفَّيۡهِ عَلَىٰ مَآ أَنفَقَ فِيهَا وَهِيَ خَاوِيَةٌ عَلَىٰ عُرُوشِهَا وَيَقُولُ يَٰلَيۡتَنِي لَمۡ أُشۡرِكۡ بِرَبِّيٓ أَحَدٗا

-Surah Al-Kahf, Ayah 42

(Sahih International)

And his fruits were encompassed [by ruin], so he began to turn his hands about [in dismay] over what he had spent on it, while it had collapsed upon its trellises, and said, "Oh, I wish I had not associated with my Lord anyone."

وَلَمۡ تَكُن لَّهُۥ فِئَةٞ يَنصُرُونَهُۥ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ وَمَا كَانَ مُنتَصِرًا

-Surah Al-Kahf, Ayah 43

(Sahih International)

And there was for him no company to aid him other than Allah, nor could he defend himself.

هُنَالِكَ ٱلۡوَلَٰيَةُ لِلَّهِ ٱلۡحَقِّۚ هُوَ خَيۡرٞ ثَوَابٗا وَخَيۡرٌ عُقۡبٗا

-Surah Al-Kahf, Ayah 44

(Sahih International)

There the authority is [completely] for Allah, the Truth. He is best in reward and best in outcome.

----------------------------------------

Striving to get closer to Allah should be our goal irrespective of our circumstances. Always being grateful to Him and believing in Him sincerely, putting all of our trust in Him helps us both in time of adversity and prosperity. If we are struggling with this, that doesn't mean we should give up but instead we should keep working on it and remember no one is perfect except Allah so strive in His cause for His sake.

----------------------------------------

-Surah Al-Ankabut, Ayah 69

(Sahih International)

And those who strive for Us - We will surely guide them to Our ways. And indeed, Allah is with the doers of good.

Nearness to Allah is the only shelter from the storms of life. And a wise person does not wait until after the storm hits to find refuge. A wise person is already safe inside the shelter before the storms hit. Stay close to Allah in ease and you will be protected in hardship. And indeed the worse punishment in this life are not the storms of the life, rather the distance with Allah.
