He’s obsessed with him but not in a possessive way.

He is not like Aemond (of course) who is over possessive of his lover/nephew/lord of the tides and watch him closely 24/7 like a dragon guards his treasure. Despite his affection for egg, he knows he must learn to hide his true feelings and desires if he ever wants to be a great King.

Jace’s been in love with his annoying uncle since he know what love means, but when egg sees him he only sees responsibility. That’s why aegon would keep trying running away on their way back until Jace lose his mind and whispering “you are making me crazy” into his ears and threaten to bite & mark & put a baby inside him right there if he tries to run again.

Besides someone asks what happened between Lucemond in these years, to be honest I think they were fighting / fucking / becoming the No.1 dramatic couple in Westeros every year / having 4 kids and expecting 5th. And I believe Luke would make an excellent master of sea at Jace’s small Council.

The really funny vibe between Aemond and Alicent is that as a dutiful, wanting-mommy’s-love & approval son Aemond was so used to Alicent cursing Rhaenyra’s name and brainwashed to believe she really hated Rhaenyra during his whole grow-up years, so the scene where Rhaenyra finally returned and sat on the iron throne with Alicent on her lap and his “bitch” sister was teasing his “religious” mom in a sensual way and Alicent seemed totally obsessed actually KILLED Aemond
