URGENT HELP PLEASE: I feel so embarrassed to ask. My name Aerial Burchfield. I just ran away from of a 2 year long abusive relationship. I feel so lost and confused. iirc all we know about them was that rodrik hit theon when he was drunk and maron was mean and liked to lie which makes me think of them kinda like vic and euron, a bigger brutish guy who’s a warrior and a smaller sneaky guy. I think it would be funny if in contrast with his namesake (rodrik the reader harlaw) roddy greyjoy straight up couldn’t read. roddy was also good friends with harras harlaw (called “the knight” cause he’s like the only knight on the iron islands) but while roddy and maron were around the same age as aeron i headcanon that aeron didn’t really like hanging out with them cause they were assholes and especially not maron. It seems like they were definitely influenced a lot by balon and ironborn culture/the old way (which makes it interesting that roddy was friends w harras who’s half greenlander and is influenced by that culture). I haven’t thought about them much but it would be interesting to try and flesh them out a little more!

People really love smart and clever characters, but I must say I absolutely love not insanely smart/slow learning characters. Characters that have to work to learn things and struggle a lot. Reading about a clever character that pieces everything together immediately is fun, but there’s something very rewarding about a character that needs to take their time and takes chapters to figure something out.
