Platonic Relationship Day

first up tina and susmita!!! this one is a scene from my gene death fic, mentioned in yesterday's post.

tina needs a best friend, especially because the friends in her group really aren't great most of the time. and ever since her introduction in season nine's UFO No You Didn't, susmita seems like the PERFECT person to fulfill that role! i love their friendship and feel like susmita should be a far more prominent character than she is. gene and louise have established best friends, AND TINA DOESNT PLEASE

i won't waste much time explaining why, i'll just drop two clips from season four's Fort Night. darryl and louise's dynamic in that episode is fucking golden and i wish they brought it back even just once

THIS TRIO IS SO FUCKING GOOD OKAY and the reason i love them so much is season six's Stand By Gene, the episode the screenshot is from. a year ago i compiled their scenes in that ep and posted the video right here, if you want to see why exactly im this crazy about them. (it's only a minute long and i'm mad about it) they're fucking hilarious and simply wonderful i hope they hang out like this again

not to mention that jimmy jr and jocelyn were the original ‼️ friends ‼️ before tammy came along! they were hanging out a whole season before that bitch's introduction. i like to think that even after both tammy and zeke moved to seymour's bay and became best friends with jocelyn and jimmy jr respectively, jocelyn and jimmy jr still hang out often. maybe even have some girly sleepovers together. definitely watching romcoms or hallmark movies during the holidays. and they DEFINITELY gossip and talk shit together (about tammy a lot too). she's like the sister he never had!!

Truth or Dare?!

haha yes that's my zekina fic!!

basically, that one continues tina's internal struggles from The Land Ship, Wag the Song, and Some Like It Bot. tammy causes her problems here, and with graduation right around the corner, tina wants to be remembered and make a good mark for herself at Wagstaff.

tammy is throwing an end of year party and doesn't invite tina. the first part of tina's "making a mark" plan is to get herself invited. at the party, she suggests playing Truth or Dare, sure that that's something that will help her spice it up.

however, those thoughts become insignificant as game ends up leaving her wondering if jimmy jr is really the one for her.

in it, i'm going to try and focus on the aspects of jimmy jr's character i love, and we're going to see exactly how much of an asshole jimmy sr really is. it's gonna be a story of finding love and acceptance, the two main focuses jimmy jr finding himself (with the help of his best friends) and (of course) tina and zeke falling in love along the way.

i've only got three chapters posted, but im excited to write the rest whenever it may be. here's a snippet tho :)

“Well?”

“I- I didn’t mean it all that much, I- I swear! Tammy and Jocelyn were just putting me under a lot of pressure to answer and a no just came out! You know I don’t do well under pressure!”

“But you always do this sort of thing, don’t you? You only care about Tina when another boy is involved. If it’s just you and her, her trying desperately to get you to notice her and how much she genuinely likes you, you ignore her or brush her to the side like a used napkin. And, you wanna know something about her? She’s such a nice person and likes you so much that she’s able to look past those qualities and focus on your few good ones. But you’ve gotta stop doing things like this! You can’t keep hurting her o-or leading her on, you-”

“Zeke, calm down. Why are you getting so worked up over this? It’s just one small thing that happened, and when we go back to school next week, things will get back to normal.”

“Because you know I like her too, Jimmy Jr.! And for so long I’ve stayed quiet and tried what I could to be your wingman because I know she doesn’t like me back and I just want her to be happy! But you make it really difficult sometimes and I’m finally sick of it. We’re entering high school, Jimmy, and things are going to be different. ‘Things will eventually just go back to normal’ can't be your solution to everything. So either you get your act together right now, or I’m leaving this party along with Tina and going to talk to her myself.”

1. favorite burger of the day?

easy. "Say It Ain't Cilantro Burger - (Doesn't come with cilantro. Because cilantro is terrible.)"

it's just so unnecessary and so funny. like is it just a regular burger but more expensive?? it's hilarious and i love it

2. Which joke had you crying with laughter?

not so easy. there's so many great jokes in this show it's hard to remember, but i will start crying laughing at just about anything if i'm tired enough. but bonus points if the joke is from tina- if it's her i've got a much higher chance of crying laughing, she's just so naturally funny sometimes and her lines are always golden

i wanna thank @devilh0rnsinc SO much for making roudise week happen! ive been in such a great mood the ENTIRE week and i had a shit ton of fun looking at everybody's art and reading everybody's fics and everything. y'all are so talented and amazing

Burgerboss was my favorite episode when i was younger. couldn't tell u why. since then i've like, never seen anyone really talk about it? now i barely watch it, thanks for that

The Gene and Courtney Show. i haven't seen anyone talk about it outside a compilation i've posted that had scenes from it. that's also partly because gene/courtney isn't too popular a ship, but i ADORE them and would like to see their cutest ep get more attention ☹️

Something Old, Something New, Something Bob Caters For You. all i've seen people talk about in relation to this episode is the song in it. and i get that, This Wedding Is My Warzone is one of my all time favorite Bob's songs, but i haven't seen people just... talk about the ep itself??? and it's really good- the kids are hilarious, bob and linda switch roles w/ bob being the excited one and linda being the more pessimistic one- just everything about it honestly is so good. one of my favorites

honorable mentions As I Walk Through the Alley of the Shadow of Ramps, Tweentrepreneurs, The Helen Hunt (subplot specifically, because Gene and Bob are my favorite duo), The Gene Mile, Frigate Me Knot, Video Killed the Gene-io Star, Ancient Misbehavin (although The Gene Mile and Ancient Misbehavin i feel like are talked about a substantial amount??)

lastly, Fraud of the Dead: Zombie-docu-pocalypse. i feel like people only talked about it when it came out. i literally haven't heard anyone mention it in ages. when it's genuinely one of my favorites. i love this episode too god damn much and there's so many reasons

i loved these prompts sm and was just very happy for an excuse to draw chloe so i made basically the entire comic up as i went and whoops they kissed twice 🤷 says a lot about me doesnt it
