Behold! Fanfic be upon ye!
Just a random fun fact about Aster: the last name they use is Phós. This is solely because, added to their first name, it makes their name translate from Greek as ‘starlight’ and I think that’s awesome.
My fan animation of the spaceship Lost Light from Transformers: More Than Meets The Eye. Everything was done in Blender 3D. I hope you like it :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lFJEjD-WjT8

Ah, but what have I found? , he's a little human

I officially can’t call my g/t Ao3 my side account anymore. 100k+ total word count over 44 fics and all the stats are so much higher for this account. It’s really funny to me that this spiralled so far out of hand. I’m so proud of myself and it’s absolutely wild how quickly this eclipsed my ‘main’ work.
Behold, a fic brought to you by an enby who has not slept enough!
I love writing something in a fit of passion and it feeling like the best thing I’ve ever written.
Entirely forgot to mention this, so giving a little warning now that I’ll be dropping off Tumblr on the 20th of this month until midway through next month because I’m desperate to avoid TF one spoilers and my country doesn’t get the movie until next month. If I finish any fics during that time, I will be posting on here, but otherwise, I won’t be on Tumblr much if at all.

HAPPY SANS SWEEP QUEEN DEATH DAY
It’s wild to go through my WIPs and find fully finished fics I just forgot to post or fics that are only a scene or two from being completed. This is what I get for working on 5 or more at once.
giving the borrower who lives in my kitchen food, not in the way you’d give a neighbor cookies or casseroles, but moreso in the way when you have a feral stray cat living outside in your carport who definitely would give you diseases and scars if you tried to touch it and absolutely loathes both your existence and the concept of being in a loving home but regardless you like to throw boneless chicken wings near it to hear it purr (it’s growling)

To be fair, she snuck into his house without permission.
I made a simple sketch practicing perspective, did I do okay?
I originally wrote a lot of this in the tags, but I feel like it needs to be added to the actual post itself.
When people make stuff- writing, drawings, photography, etc- it’s made, first and foremost, for themselves. Them sharing it isn’t an obligation not something they should feel pressured to do.
I write some niche stuff. My recent Autodale g/t fic for example. I wrote that entirely for myself and it’s one of the fics that performed the worst out of almost every fic I’ve wrote. I posted it not because I thought it would do well but because I like my work and want to share it. That was my decision throughout.
It can be so frustrating to have people commenting about what they think the story should be, asking where the ‘rest’ of a fic is, trying to fit others’ works to their tastes. It doesn’t surprise me that this makes people bitter, wanting to leave the space. I know I left for a few years because of stuff like that.
I learned to write and draw because I knew I had specific tastes and saw that no one else was writing or drawing anything I liked. So, I made it myself and started sharing it so anyone else with my preferences could see it.
It’s not easy, I’ve been writing for a decade now and I’m still not entirely satisfied with my style, but as OP said, it doesn’t have to be a grand thing. It can be a simple stick figure or drabble with misspellings and poor grammar. It can stay in a little folder, just for yourself or you can share it. Others might even be inspired by it!
TLDR: Don’t try and force others to make the things you want to see, it’s demotivating and unnecessary.
Been seeing a specific type of post popping up about this community more lately. Specifically, talking about how some things are overdone to death.
So I have to ask. Not why these things are overdone, no. But why some feel the need to ruin other people's parties, purely for sticking to what they like.
If the problem is that you hate that stuff, maybe consider, I dunno, letting them be? They make that stuff because they like it? Who would've thought?
If the problem is that they're not making stuff you like, recognize that people have different preferences, and consider making or commissioning it yourself?
I wholeheartedly mean that last point incredibly hard. Being in a niche community, with niche preferences, does make it plenty difficult to find stuff you'll enjoy, I get that all too well. But that doesn't mean I'll complain until stuff magically spawns upon my screen.
Often times for niche stuff, someone has to be the first person to make something happen, because otherwise, who knows if someone else will.
And not just making it once, no. Rather, make multiple things, big or small in scope. Write the concept or story down. Draw or edit it out briefly. Get the idea out there.

But above all, be persistent. Outlive. Survive. Just because it isn't popular on your first post, it doesn't mean that you should give up trying. Especially if it's something you're genuinely passionate about.
I wonder what the age range of the G/T community is. I think I first discovered it when I was maybe 13, and now I’m 19. Bizarre how the community has been around for so long, so I’m assuming we have both older people and younger with us.
I don’t know if there’s something in the air or if I’m just on a roll with writing right now. 3rd fic in 2 days.
tinies who purr. it’s like holding a kitten, the more content they are the more your whole hand shakes. feeling a soft rumbling when they curl up against your neck. your pocket vibrating, and it takes a second to realize it’s not your phone, the little guy just fell asleep.
giants who purr. when your on their chest, it practically shakes your bones. maybe it’s a quiet noise to anyone else, but it’s deep and all-consuming to you, especially when on their chest, or laying across their neck. your giant never being able to sneak up on you, cause purrs like thunder rumble the second they see you.
Behold the aforementioned fic that no one asked for! I wrote this in an absolute daze after making that post and I will not apologise for shaking this thing loose from my brain.
Also, just for anyone who doesn’t read the notes, please, please watch the Autodale series by Dead Sound on Youtube. It’s so good.
I love metaphorically rolling up my sleeves and preparing to write a fanfic that literally no one but me asked for.
Another instalment of YCRBYCH, set during the main fic, before the translator is finished.
Are you a tiny orphan? I'm your dad now.
How about disowned? I'm your dad now.
Do your parents suck eggs? Cool, I'm your dad now.
Are you an adult having a bad time navigating the world? Neat! I'm your dad now.
I am now your huge dad. You can sit in my hand and I will ask you about your new hobby before we go get icecream. I will tell you puns and there is no escape. I will wear socks with sandals.
Congrats. You have a giant dad now.
Does Collin have a favorite among Charlie’s plushies?

he says he doesnt have favourites ((lie))

this happens way too often
collin has tried to steal borrow the plush but it wouldnt fit in the walls 🥲
As a writer who doesn't often read other fics because of personal preferences, but also to focus on my own and spend a lot of time writing something completely to my own exact tastes instead I gotta ask
(This is specifically about long-fics, but short fics can work too)
Personally, I have specific preferences/squicks that make it hard for me to read certain things and prefer to write what I like instead of looking for it in other places (That's not to say that it can't be found! I just find writing it to be a lot more satisfying)
It’s wild that I got an idea out of the blue that I then immediately had to write something for and I’m already at 1.3k words and nowhere near finished.
