I walked by a shop recently that featured a window display of famous books. Each was covered in a brown-paper wrapper with a short comment about it, however it was the synopsis written on the Bible that was disturbing, simply saying “Religious Viewpoint” and “Violence.” This is an increasingly popular view today in categorizing the bible (often written with a small 'b') as a book from a dark, past time in human history that has no place in this modern, enlightened age. If this is your way of thinking, you’d be well advised to take another look because actually the exact opposite truth of the Bible is that this is the ultimate amazing life-saving story to redeem the world and everyone in it from Rebellion to Restoration with God.

Unlike the other books in this window, this - The Greatest Of All Books - tells a story far deeper and more important than any other. Not only is it a mistake to dismiss it as the false views of ages past, it is even a bigger mistake to mock and dismiss it as just one of many misguided “Religious Viewpoints.”

Friend, do not dismiss or mock this book or the warning it is giving you in today’s scripture! If there is any one book in the 'bookstore window of life' that you must read and understand that will lift you from PUNISHMENT to PROMOTION it is This One.

I hope that these “Your Daily Notes” cause you to think about who and where you are in this life and what comes next!

Walking down and around Rio de Janeiro as a young man in the Navy was exciting! The beaches, city and weather were absolutely beautiful and it was easy to get distracted at so much to see. Glancing across a wide boulevard I saw the famous “Sugerloaf” mountain jutting up from the yacht harbor ahead and excitedly when the light turned green I hurriedly stepped off the curb to cross the street to get a closer look.

No sooner than I did, the strong hand of my weightlifting Navy buddy snatched me by the collar and violently yanked me back off my feet as a little Fiat going about 60 miles an hour ran the light and clipped the curb - my flailing shoe lightly brushing a side view mirror as the car raced by.

My friend 'Rack' scolded me saying, “They don’t obey traffic lights down here son! When no ones coming they GO!” I certainly would have been killed if my shipmate had not literally had my back.

I didn’t see the danger coming, and likewise in our lives God often delivers us from dangers we never saw coming. As today’s verse tells us, he nestles us under the shadow of His wings until the danger passes by.

The key here friend is to have HIM 'Have Your Back' and the only way is if you stay close to God, because when you are close to Him in THIS life, then He will be close to you in the next life.

The now classic “Terminator” movies foretold of a future where advanced computers and robots would become self-aware, rebel against the people that created them, and turn to be the enemy of mankind. Today, with extremely high-speed networking, massive storage, sophisticated robotics and immense computational capability combined with Artificial Intelligence (AI) software, we may in fact be close to a 'SkyNET' moment when our creation will rebel against US.

While this destructive future may soon become a reality, We (also) as the CREATED have rebelled against Our CREATOR. Once Adam and Eve believed the lie that they also would “Be Like God” [ Genesis 3:5,7 ] they too became 'Self-Aware' and rebelled against their Creator. In the Book Of Revelation as well as many Old Testament prophecies, it details how people in the end times will rebel against God in the ultimate hope of destroying Him who created them.

The truth of the matter is that just like the T-800 robot in “Terminator 2” we too have all rebelled against our CREATOR, and that is what the Bible calls SIN. In our self-awareness, we likewise — in our self-aware programming — believe ourselves to be independent beings where our 'Natural Intelligence' says we are free to do as we please, and NOT as our creator originally created us to be.

Like Arnold Schwarzenegger’s robot character in Terminator 2, we can likewise be re-programmed to do good and obey the instructions of Him who created us:

“Do not be conformed to this world,

But be transformed by the REWEWAL OF YOUR MIND, That by testing you may Discern what is the will of God, What is GOOD and ACCEPTABLE and PERFECT.” - Romans 12:2

Whether you are a Christian —or not yet a believer — transform your mind. Don’t be like the T-800. Put your old thinking aside and put on the perfect mind of God as He originally created you to be!

Our lives are continually full of CHOICES, and the question is what kind of choices will we make?

Most choices are indeed neutral — like choosing to go buy groceries or go for a walk, but as today’s title says when we choose to do things that are contrary to the way God would want us to choose, then that choice always leads to sin.

This is one of the greatest challenges in life, because while we may mean in our heart to not do the wrong thing, our lower human, sinful nature often kicks in and we instead choose to go LEFT, when instead we should have gone RIGHT.

The simplicity of this verse from Psalm 25:12 is a reminder that God is always there to show us the way, and when we heed His direction and not our own, we can always be assured that we will not cross onto the tracks of danger.

As the psalmist said — God Will ALWAYS Show You The Way You Should Choose! Choose His Path, and you will never make a wrong turn.

Modern science (which we are supposed to always trust and “Follow”) says that there was this “Big Bang,” and over billions of years a hot rock evolved into an orbit around the sun, cooled, formed primordial chemicals in a swamp and somehow, someway (that no one can explain...) 'life' began, and eventually all animals, plants and humans just 'evolved.' The Gospel of Darwin thus teaches that Darwin+Rock=YOU, and not that silly religious superstition you are a creation of God in “His Image” [ Genesis 1:26 ] If you follow and believe that line of thinking, then you believe your life is based upon a ROCK.

However there is another ROCK on which we are built ON and FROM, and that is Christ. As today’s scripture tells us, those lives that are built UPON (not 'evolved from') an inanimate rock will stand long after this third rock from the sun is long gone.

While the earth may be around a lot longer that you will, if your life is based upon the rock, which is Christ, when the storms of this life and the last storm of death beat upon you, then your foundation will eternally stand.

Friend, base your life on the TRUE ROCK which is Christ, because He is the only foundation that will last forever.

Is your life FROM a rock or built ON a Rock?
